By knowing I get a quiet house to myself for a few hours which allows me to just either be online, watch TV or movies, play games, or get some college stuff done/started on.

& WTF, the new Studio Ghibli film Tale of the Princess Kaguya came out in theaters Friday?! *checks online* There's no theaters near me even showing it. *sigh* Gotta remember to check it out on Blu-Ray once it's out...*sees it's sub only* Oh, well that explains why it was limited release....

Princess Kaguya isn't sub only. Chloe Grace Moretz plays Kaguya in the dub. I saw it on Friday, and they were showing the dub for the daytime showings, sub for the evening showings. I saw it subbed. It's really really good. And absolutely gorgeous.

Luffy isn't related to Saul, his family name is Monkey. The D actually stands for
DERESHISHISHISHI
Luffy's family name is Monkey D. Or perhaps more accurately, it's like having two family names. Think of it sort of like how traditional Russian names work, where you have a first name, a patronymic name, and then a family name. In this case, Luffy is his first name, Monkey is the patronymic name (i.e. the name he got from his father/immediate relations, whoever they are...this would be why other D's have different names here), and D. is the true family name.

All D's are theoretically related, though it is likely a distant relation for many of them. There are, of course, theories as to where the D. comes from, but that's for another time...

Glad you guys liked the DUMP, it's been a while since there's been a drawn DUMP like that. Had me smiling at your comments on and off this morning! XD

So many sketchable things... Yu Titankami + Soul Eater Reunion, Annie's first time reading Armin X Eren Doujinshi face, ACTUALLY ATE A BABY, The most violent commericial for a church prayer I've ever seen, Young Sir Integra.... Nothing from Naruto (Ok, was thinking about Orochimaru birthing himself out his mouth, haha)... And then NOT drawing Nia on her first appearance, lol. Close enough though, right?

Breach: I actually rather enjoyed BLEACH for what it was. Tsukishima's backup to his power is "If people can't accept me taking over their past, they mind break!", so watching him try SO HARD to break Roy Fokke- Byakuya, only for him to have none of it, was fun enough to watch. Tsuki going on at depth on how ridiculous his power could work... was actually fun to hear, for me anyway.

Hellsang: I rather enjoyed the Music in Hellsing, also. The gore us trying to be more old school anime, with al the eye popping. After the BIG GULP last episode, I didn't mind Alucard being absent (I swear every bad-ass vampire half looks like him anywho.), and it was nice to see some more of our other characters backstories and such.

ROBIN PIECE: It was nice to see Robin's past. Even if it won't stay nice for long. As much as I like her mature, calm demeanor (when Spandam isn't stomping on her...) it's nice to see her with a bit more of a well-rounded personality, even if it results from seeing her youth.

Oh, and Buster Calls don't frighten me in the world of One Piece. "Look, a fleet of ships shooting Cannons!" Shouldn't Zorro and :Luffy be the biggest Squad of NOPE to a B.C ever? And wouldn't calling on at ground Zero of Naval HQ be impossible unless they want to destroy their own home base? I keep feeling like I'm seeing, say... Kagome afraid of the monster under her bed, after hopping to the feudal era for a few months. But maybe I'm letting my knowledge of future One Piece cloud my judgment some... -shrug-

The most important bit with regards to the Buster Call is that the battleships are commanded by Vice Admirals. Those guys don't fuck around. They're not just some random scrubs with piddly ships.

Weird, from what I was finding, the release was sub only. Guess it was just that particular version that got a limited release.

Just hope I remember to keep an eye out when it's released on Blu-Ray.

The only thing I can add to this is never doubt One Piece and keep watching. Almost everyone who watches this arc thinks the same thing (hell one of the basic premises of the arc is that Luffy and co don't care/are too stupid to realize just what sort of sleeping giant they are rousing)

Vice-Admirals are serious business, (slight spoilers for a couple arcs from now)
except for the Whitebeard War where they barely show up and immediately get rolled.

And I recall that in the current anime/manga arc,
vice-admirals were used as fodder against some of the tournament fighters, and really, no vice-admiral except for Vergo, who was secretly part of Doflamingo's group anyway, (and Garp when he shows up again) has been worth a damn post time skip.

There were a bunch of vice-admirals in the Whitebeard War. Momonga, Dalmation, Onigumo. And most of them handed Luffy his ass.
Garp's also a vice-admiral as well.

(future spoilers)
We haven't seen a lot of vice-admirals post timeskip. Only like...four if you want to count Vergo and Smoker.
Bastille was out of his league in Dressrosa.

You should totally put video of Nazi vampires chewing on babies for a school project.

I figure
Garp
is a Vice-Admiral because he doesn't want to go any higher than that. Everyone treats him with more respect than the admirals, and give the impression that he's a step above the other vice-admirals in power. I'm only at Punk Hazard.

I feel like
Whitebeard War was mostly a series of Luffy being thrown around, though. He didn't have any fights of his own and it kind seemed like the point of the arc was to show how strong Whitebeard and New World pirates were, which Luffy comes to the same realization and we get the timeskip training. I don't remember any marines being particularly tough because Marco and Whitebeard were able to go past them or just sweep them aside for the most part, and it generally gives the impression that Whitebeard's commanders (at least Marco and Vista, for certain) are on par with Royal Warlords/ Shichibukai.

Prof has a PG-13 rule on stuff since he might use it as examples for other classes & such, so better to not tempt fate....I mean, granted, maybe I can use something from it, just not that particular scene.

I'm also tempted to do a "There gonna be a jump scare?......nah, just kiddinGOT YOU ACTUAL JUMP SCARE HAPPY HALLOWEEN" with something. First thing that popped into my head was one of the murder scenes from Danganronpa 2, especially due to the sound that plays.

OH HEY, the final boss music from Earthbound, I can use that.....Hmm maybe the Sonic CD US music could work as well because screw that boss music & ESPECIALLY THAT GAME OVER THEME I HATED THAT AS A KID.

I know there's a lot of Gap in One Piece I don't know, because I basically haven't seen anything from the end of this saga to right at the beginning of the Time Skip. So I'm always a bit hesitant to comment on the things that don't feel like they're hitting right with me, y'know? So thanks for lending a bit more to the understanding!

If there are SERIOUS HUMAN WEAPONS on those Buster Call Ships that are frightening after the guns go off, then cool, lol. Except for the weapons Robin apparently holds the secret to, due to Ponyglyph reading, I just feel like man made non-devil-fruit style objects should be pretty low on the "fear" meter. I understand it with Robin, given what happened to her, but I just have a hard time as a reader / watcher thinking Robin needs to save her friends from such a thing.

I now return to patiently awaiting seeing the Horrors of BC first hand!

Bonds (not) Breaking.
So which is Walter and Jesse?.

Everything is pretty much fucked. Just head on down to the Winchester, have a pint and wait for this to blow over, Yamato. Time for One Piece.
I understood that reference.

how is call of duty still a thing? I remember standing in line at the mall for MW2 back in college
The West still likes using LT, RT, and X on M4s at 60FPS.

part two of the Clone Wars movie review should be up late tonight. with podcast recording and stuff i'm not sure i'll be able to do part three on Monday, however.

I only ever saw up to Hellsing 4 since some shit got in the way and I totally forgo about this seriest. This Saturday's episode was certainly exciting to me.

During the hellsing episode, I got a little...blood fatigue? Not anything about the gore, but just like..so many people just being ripped apart without a ton of context...visually droning on and on. I had a similar response to the Transformers films (the first 2, anyway) where there was just metal shit and explosions and on and on and on. Here is the same only it's..flesh. I dunno. I just got..boring? This was about 2/3rds of the way through the episode.

Last night’s theme was “adorable flashbacks” with One Piece’s Robin, Bleach’s Riruka and even Hellsing’s Integra all getting flashbacks with their characters looking very kawaii. Now, on with the reviews:

Attack on Titan - I dug this episode. It’s always better when we focus on some different characters other than Eren. Bowl cut guy was good intentioned but this crappy society is probably too far gone for his heroics. It was also neat to hear to Soul Eater cast together again. Annie is by far my favorite character in this show. She’s the only person who seems to have an actual head on her shoulders. While the episode did get a bit dull at the start, it was all worth that (obvious) twist reveal at the end. That Annie smile… oh man, it was soooo good. :) She looked equal parts sexy and creepy. I’m looking forward to the return of everyone’s favorite FemTitan!

Bleach - Meh, it wasn’t great but I’ve seen worse Bleach episodes. I liked Riruka’s backstory (no pun intended) but it’s waaay too late to try endearing us to these characters with only two episodes left. Too bad our best friend Tsukishima was killed by that flower-pedal guy. Or wait, when he dies do our memories return to normal? I forget how his ridiculous JoJo power works.

Naruto: Shippuden - I was so zoned out during this episode that I probably missed half of it. I think Sakura got knocked out by Naruto’s power and then Sai flew off confirming he’s just a big dick. Naruto had some kind of inner-dialog and (hopefully!!) has finished his dumb-looking power up sequence. I hope we finally get to see him fight a newly hatched Orochimaru next week but knowing Shippuden it’ll just be another 24 more minutes of exposition. :p

One Piece - A great, feel-good episode and a nice change of pace from the battle. Kid Robin is a cutie pie and I liked the giant she befriended. I’m a big fan of Gulliver’s Travels so this episode really played to my tastes. I’m not sure why the rest of the island has to be such dicks to her (she’s only a kid!) but at least those archeologists were cool. I loved it.

Gurren Lagann - Simon is lost without his bro and the rest of Team Dia-Gurren are trying to get back on their feet. Along comes a lovely little princess. :D People can be split about Nia but I think she’s great. Some of you noticed the slightly off-model characters last night. I think that was deliberate to emphasize the somber tone. We’re back to normal looking animation next week. Also, we finally got see the elusive Spiral King, Lordgenome. Just so you know his name is pronounced as one word “Lordgenome” not “Lord Genome”.

Hellsing Ultimate - Awesome episode. The gore was off the charts (baby eating) and London got screwed. I liked the English dudes who sacrificed themselves (*salute!*). The music was all over the place, though. I actually liked each track but it was the clashing variety that seemed weird. It would go from jazz, to punk, to orchestra very quickly. By far the best scene was when Anderson arrived to save Integra. Amazing. This series continues to deliver the goods. I can’t wait to see Alucard join the frey next week.

GitS: Second Gig - Even though I went to sleep after Hellsing, I recorded this because you guys suggested I watch it. It was a cool episode. I wasn’t really sure what was going on with all the pervy rich dudes and their sex robots but when the episode became Oceans 11 I laughed and enjoyed it. :)

It's gore porn, they did it to tunes of music for a reason, hellsing appeals to that type of media

Also, theres something I probably need to say for I believe the next episode and from what I know of episode 9
there are sex scenes, not just any sex scenes, but like really fucked up berserk level sex scenes, I dont know if they will be censored or not, if they're not censored, than KLK is basically confirmed for toonami at that point, but if they're im gonna guess it will be pretty jarring as they arent meant for stimulation but character development.

I just dont like how fleshed out it is. After a bit it was showing murder just to prove the point that murder was happening and i really just didnt care. Like the baby didnt even affect me.

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
AAAAAAAAH.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHH.

THAT PICTURE OF HOMER AS A BLEACH CHARACTER HAS COME FULL CIRCLE.

GAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH.

....I also liked it better when they did it for a couch gag & it had Ultraman, Gatchaman, Sailor Moon, Astro Boy, & Pikachu.

Homer's Zoro from One Piece. Marge is the Bleach character.

Okay, that 3rd segment involving the original Simpsons was actually rather good. Also Treehouse of Horror marathon is something I need to record.

& seems my dad was nice enough to remember that I mentioned I should record Army of Darkness so I can finally see it. Being on IFC, should be uncensored.

Santa's Little Helper is too vague for me to place him.
I want to say Spirited Away, since they did a parody a season or so ago where it was all Ghibli movies.
