I forget, did Gen1 stop evolutions from happening at the next level? IIRC Gen 2 on allowed stopped evolutions to happen later due to "better" moves being gained earlier if you stopped the evolution early.

Ideally they would be supportive for how much attention it has given Pokemon. But he is making money off it with the subscribe option and they might be stupid about it.

That was half the point of holding off evolution; learn moves quicker or moves that its evolution may not have access to.
