As it stands, Rose is fine. I think they made her powerful contender with her buffs in Ultra, but I don't see that as a problem. Louffy deserved his win through and through.

So people are forgetting that Justin Wong beat ChrisG with POINT Storm.

Yes that's right... POINT STORM!!!!

My mind was blown when he made that switch but I said to myself "never doubt the Wong".

lol @ people crying about Rose.

not surprising. a character is weak until they win evo, then they're op. and need to be nerfed. If Snake Eyez won people would still somehow find something to complain about

TOO MUCH HEALTH. ITS NOT FAIR. NERF
Y HE HAVE MUCH RANGE ON SPD. NERF
MOHAWK OP. TAKE IT AWAY

one year, people will give props to the player and realize the player won and not the character

Seriously. Any one of the top 8 could have won, and it seemed to be fairly diverse among the top 32. Sagat was in the finals and by most accounts got nerfed hard. Both Snake Eyes and Luffy played amazing with solid characters.

Yeah, I feel like that switch went underlooked by a lot of people. That was a specific ChrisG counter, and it worked.

Yea, but you body my rose regardless.
It still takes a really good player.
U2 is easier to get rid of then what people think.

Oh yea no doubt she takes a lot of skill and she's not OP or anything I'm just saying why people think she's annoying

My initial idea as to why he went with that pick was that he wanted to set up a DHC Hailstorm into Berserker Charge to lock down Morrigan and open her up without worrying about her escaping. He didn't actually use it though which made me even more surprised.

My other idea was that he wanted to save XF2 for Wolverine so that he can mount a more powerful comeback with that character if he got the hit.

I want to see the top 3 matches again because a lot of high level play went down. I was too caught up in the moments to properly analyze them.

And in the GF Storm was the MVP in every single way.

I loved how SnakeEyez adjusted to the Rufus style that Wong and Ortiz developed specifically for him. He just decided not to press anything at all it was beautiful.

"So what's the odds Wong picks up Rose instead of learning Elena?"

None. If Justin cared about picking a top tier character in SF4 he could've done so a *long* time ago and there are still quite a few characters that are stronger overall than Rose.

He basically used Storm's aerial mobility to avoid soul fists and punished assist calls HARD with either Hailstorms or Akuma assist calls. ChrisG's assists were always bleeding throughout the entire set.

Gotta put this side by side with the Marn race roll

Justin vs. Marn race

I'm just more pissed Bonchan and Snake Eyez lost.. Especially the later.. Or a Makoto player..

That's perfectly fine to get pissed at, I'm tight snake didn't win either cause I wanted that USA win for once but no way can I come in here and just spew out random shit just cause my preferred player or character didn't win. I Gotta give respect to where it's clearly shown and Louffy did just that.

That point storm though. My god what a thing to do in GF. Thank you for winning Justin.

The definition of front-butt.
So... did Smash get the highest view count? I think it was around 135k at its highest and SF4 was only sub 130k. Did marvel top it? I had to take a stream break.

And how does 14' compare to 13' in terms of viewers?

Ricky was the only player in top 8 that would have given Luffy a hard time but Snake Eyez did him a favor. Sako as well but I guess being a father has really taken a lot from him. He was clearly not the usual god of execution, dropping combos he could do without fail back in his younger days.

And for those who missed it they are rebroadcasting top 8 of everything again. Blazblue is first. Relive the most hype finals.

I was sad to see Daigo and Valle get bounced early

0%. He picks Elena because she's new... not because she's good. He did that with Yang, and Adon as well when they were release. He did with Nova/Iron Fist/Frank West as well in Marvel.

Plus Louffy won because he has the balls to forward dash throw, or stand MK.

I've never seen Ricky vs Louffy, but I've seen Justin vs Louffy. And I would say it's pretty even but maybe 51-49 Justin or 52ish... So I might actually agree.

Marvel broke 145k, I believe. Ultra was played during Nick at Nite hours.

Marvel topped it with 149k. AE always gets the shaft because late timings in Europe.

BB hit 80k with the 9AM anime timeslot so I'm happy!

He used to do that before too though. I think the main factor for having Storm on point was that he had that extra meter to work with at the start. Normally he is forced to bring in Storm by burning 2 meters (Fatal Claw into Hailstorm when the Hailstorm wasn't doing anything like punishing an assist) or having Storm in a disadvantageous situation (one character down). With Storm starting there was less pressure on her and more fluidity in meter usage. It also allowed Wolverine to be in the wings just in case he needed to be brought in for Hailstorm pressure and to open up Vergil.

Yeah this was really surprising. Sako has incredible execution, so it was very strange to see him dropping combos. Very glad to see him place well either way, he's one of my favorite players and he is a lot of fun to watch.

Younger days being a few months ago when he won Capcom Cup?

Maybe that's the difference. Justin basically didn't let Chris even really call Missiles throughout most of his matches because he would Hail immediately if he was far, or Akuma assist when close. I need to rewatch it myself.

Chris was getting opened up a LOT by Akuma assist.

I still think the hypest thing for me was Reynald winning KoF last year.. I always thought it was much more of a long shot for the US to win in that than SF.. Who knew?

I agree, most of the matchups probably favored Louffy in the end.
