This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

absolutely finish the main game before starting any dlc, don't even go to those areas if you choose to download them first. dlc is filled with main story spoilers

I only recall (big) story spoilers in Hammerlock's DLC. Maybe Tina's I forget. But I explicitly remember being treated as if...well as if things were before the ending in the pirates/torgue DLC

No, game itself is not on the market place either.

What I was afraid of. I bought the GotY edition off Amazon and got it yesterday. Guy shipped me the Platinum Hits version instead. He apologized and refunded me the money, but I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy it again.

I have a wii points card from a while ago. I have a wii and wii u and 3ds. I would like to use those points on the 3ds or wiiu is there a way to do this? From what I understand I can only use it on the wii.

Question 2
My xbox one is flashing the on light but not doing anything. The controller was on for a bit. I cleaned it all up and it was a bit dusty but does this mean anything serious or was it updating in some way? Google shows there are a lot of reasons for this to be going on.

Hi gaf! So I want to buy an xbox 360 cause I found a rock band drum set for 7 bucks. Found one for cheap but it says it's an XBOX 360 E 4gb no hard drive.
Do I need a hard drive to play a game like call of duty ghost? I don't want to buy one if I don't have too. Thanks in advance!

You can only use it on the Wii...but, I believe you can enter Wii mode and use it there, on your Wii U. I don't know if you can use it on the 3DS eShop but I don't think you can. I don't think you can use it on the Wii U eShop either.

That's a weird question, considering I've had my Wii U for almost 4 months, but I noticed something today: Is it normal that the connector of the HDMI cable does not plug until the end? I noticed that quite a bit of it is left unplugged, in both the TV's port and Wii U's port. BTW, the image seems to be completely fine.

In case it's normal, I don't know how the hell I didn't notice this until now lol.

It happens with some HDMI cables. It's no big deal. Like you say, it works perfectly fine.

I wonder what the percentage is of people who love the Souls games who have looked things up on the internet versus those who have not.

I looked up quite a few things in Dark Souls 1 (Where to get the ring to enter the abyss and fight the nights, the location of the great scythe and blacksmith who can enchant my weapons with fire, the easy way to defeat Ceaseless, how to access the DLC, how to get out of Blighttown). But didn't look up nearly as much for Dark Souls 2.

Elders Scroll game question, in regards to Skyrim (but its probably universal):

How do I determine if an item is worth it to pick up and sell?

Is it

[Item Weight]*10 = X, where as X should be higher than value?

SO example would be I have an item with these values:

Fur Shoe: Weight = 2 Value = 4

Math: 2*10=20, 20 is higher than 4 so I would get good value picking up and selling?

Just an example...lol

Collecting things in the Elder Scrolls universe can be fun but you rarely have much need of money. Prioritize items that are directly useful e.g. potions and good equipment. For everything else you can simply calculate the value per weight. The fur shoes in your example are worth 2 gold per weight unit. If you enjoy the crafting system then make sure you pick up all the ingots you can find.

In Folklore does it matter which character you choose to play as at the beginning of the game?
No, you will have to play the game with both characters to unlock the final chapter. I suggest you play all available levels with one character before you switch over to the other.

The story is told from a different perspective depending on who you pick. They also have different attack strategies. The guy has more direct attacks while the girl is more of a summoner.

Thats exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks.

I just want quick cash at stat of my PC game without cheating and too much grinding of stuff like smithing lol
The way the leveling works (use skill, get better at skill) in conjunction with level scaling makes it kind of pointless to min-max that stuff.

If you want to level quickly though, you should use more than a handful of skills regularly, or switch paradigms once you've maxed your main skills (don't forget the Standing Stone bonuses), maybe even consider making your main skill legendary so that your sneaky thief can get levels from sneaking again, for instance. Buying skill training to speed it up works too, but keep in mind that you can only buy five skill levels worth of training before you have to level up your overall level to be able to buy another five and so on.

If you want to get smithing up quickly I've found jewelry to be a good way to go. Hold on to any gems, silver and gold you find, then turn it into amulets and rings. There's also a transmutation spell in the school of Alteration that can turn iron ore (not ingots, raw ore) into silver ore and silver ore into gold ore. You can make a bunch of money this way as well, provided you like traveling to merchants that buy jewelry. At least until you get the Merchant skill (speech tree) that lets you sell anything to anyone.

Why is it the millions of people buy COD yet there's barely over 200k people playing online?
Most people don't play games to completion or spend much time playing online multiplayer. Reading message boards filled with enthusiasts will give you a skewed perception of gamers' habits.

My typos are really bad..

I meant CASH. I want to buy the house/horse cause I played on friend's console til like level something higher than 20 and bought it there.

Oh. I don't know any easy ways to make money quick, but Transmutation should be useful anyway, either from selling the resulting gold directly or from selling the jewelry you make with it.

There are probably a lot of side quests and miscellaneous quests with good money rewards, but I don't pay attention to the money so I don't know which is most efficient. I've never played with the standard UI, but I hope there's a way to sort all your items by price. Should give you a good idea of what's worth picking up. Most armour weighs too much I find. Elven and glass probably have the best weight to value ratio. Magic staves are pretty good. And then all the small stuff of course. Potions, jewelry, gems, ingots. Maybe rare furs, but I stopped picking them up, so I don't know.

Pickpocket 50 gives you access to Extra Pockets (100 more carrying capacity). Should be very useful for any character. Uesp.net should have a list of all Pickpocket trainers to make leveling easier.

Honestly, quests are probably your best bet. Uesp.net should be able to point you in the right direction there.

Go with the Gift card or this one

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004RMK4P8/?tag=neogaf0e-20

I"ve gotten it several times and basically once you paid for it a "agree to terms and conditions" box pops up then you accept that and the code itself pops up that you can enter on the PS online store and add to your wallet

The prepaid card looks like an older style and is sold by a third party not amazon

I'm not entirely clear on how regions work for PSN cards though so I would maybe look into that before you purchase

Was getting caught part of your plan?
Haven't played vanilla Doom 3 in a decade, am about to replay it.

Now question is:
Flashlight mod or no flashlight mod?

EDIT: Also, is the game widescreen compatible since I didn't exactly have the leisure to know that back in 2004.

I have on lend a PS3 for another month. There is a Playstation Plus 14 free day trial that anyone can sign up for. It seems you can only cloud backup save your games though PS Plus. If I sign up for this free trial, cloud backup my saves, and don't continue with PS Plus after, what will happen to my saves?

From psplus FAQ:

Q: If I leave Plus and come back, will my Online Game Saves still be there as I left them?
A: Yes. If your Plus membership lapses and you had game save data in the ONline Game Save storage for Plus, it will all be there when you come back to Plus. Of course, this data can be transferred locally to your HDD at anytime as well, but you must have your Plus access to do so.

I downloaded mgs 1 from the EU psn store onto my German vita. So it's in German obviously.
But when I switch the system language to English, it's remains German.

Is there any way to get it in English?

Just wondering exactly how DLC works on PS4.

When I delete a game, does the DLC get deleted as well? I tried that with Trials Fusion and the season pass was still there and "installed" when I reinstall it.

Pretty sure PS4 redownloads all your entitlements with it as if they were patches, it's much more automatic in terms of DLC. But I can't say for 100% sure that the DLC is deleted with the game or not, haven't really made super sure.

I'm most likely gonna buy a PS4 next week, but since I heard a rumor recently about a revision coming soon I'm wondering if I should wait. Sony didn't say anything about it on Gamescom, so was it fake? I really fancy one, but I'm afraid they'll announce one two minutes after I buy it.

What's the consensus on pre-owned / refurbished 360's from Gamestop? It only has a handful of games I want to play and it doesn't look to be price dropping soon. Also, what else do I need besides the system? A controller charger?

I wouldn't buy a pre-owned early model. The newer models will likely last a few games and then you can sell it back. You can use AA/R6 batteries instead of a charger.

It's too early for a revision. You can compare the release dates for Sony's other consoles.

I may be late, but if you downloaded it using a German account, it will only be the German version. That's how it works, sadly.

In Mario Tennis (gameboy color) I don't really understand what to do when a star appears on the court. I stand in it and hit the ball but nothing special happens, tried both buttons

edit: I figured it out, gotta press both buttons at the same time, I was doing 1 or the other before

I think a new model will be out but not any time soon. I think around 14-24 months after release we'll see it.

All right. (s) are the early models, right?

BTW anyone else have an issue with PSN last night? I was downloading a game when I got an error and had to sign back in. Then, when I finished downloading the game was corrupted. = /

So, I want to make a Nintendo ID but I don't think there's a Nintendo eShop where I live. What am I in for if I make a US account? If I ever decide to buy something online, how would I add money to my balance(ie, none US credit card)?
