He was also dickish in the build up to the Summerslam, the problem is this is what Daniel Bryan character should of been doing the minute he got screwed by The Authority. Now that he has been built as this 'no nonsense' babyface its jarring - but to act as though this character has never been a dick whilst being a babyface is wrong.
That's because Attitude Era is shit aside from 3 people, and most people would realize that if they watched it in any form other than highlights/gifs.

I remember this. You basically only got clean finishes at PPVs. Made sense in a way, since the only way to get a payoff was to pay for it. I went on a 10 year hiatus after the Attitude era and I was frankly shocked at all the clean finishes on TV they were giving away each week. But I do like them better.
Also, I've been getting into NXT more and more lately, and I have to say, the fact one of the female wrestler's names is Blue Pants is completely ridiculous and awesome. I know she's a bit player, but it's fantastic. Also, she has the easiest heel turn potential in history: red pants.
Don't worry, brother. After Barrett loses the IC title this weekend, Sheamus is going to come out and turn full heel by clotheslining and Brogue kicking Ambrose. It'll be one of the greatest feuds in IC Title history.
Plus, this will free up Barrett to team up with Adrian Neville, or at least ease Neville onto the main roster. Right?
Btw, Neville is awesome, but I fear him ending up like Evan Bourne due to his own lack of character and mic skills.
Blue Pants is hilarious. I love that her entrance theme is just Big Cass singing the Price is Right theme.

Agreed, but that was at a time when fans were more openly spewing venom at Cena, and Cena is someone who's been around a long while. People agreed with Bryan. Reigns is a new guy, seemed to be over, and then they scripted him like a comedy character, and now a dick. Regardless of that, there's no reason to be sympathetic towards Bryan, like there was when he fought Cena.
While the brawl to end Raw this week was pretty great, I don't feel like I want to cheer for either guy at Fastlane. I kind of want both of them to lose because neither character is connecting with me on an emotional level, and certainly not on a level that makes me feel sympathy towards one or the other.

A lot of the Attitude stuff is trash wrestling wise, but because the characters and story are so damn good you don't give a shit. Plus the finishes sort of make sense and are justified/followed through later.
