So is $60 a year worth it for online? That's, again, for the consumer to decide. If he's paying the $60 for Plus because online play is so important than the quality of the monthly "free" games is irrelevant.

So the fees are, like, taken directly out of your paycheck or something?

They might as well be

...what pt 2

I'm all for getting the best bang for your buck, but I prefer to use logic when it comes to consumerism

I don't see what you don't understand. I don't care what Sony supports or not with PS+. I pay for a services that includes:

A) Online on PS4
B) Games for PS4, PS3 and Vita every month, usually 6 games.
C) Cloud saving
D) Discounts and other stuff.

I get to choose what I use or not from the services and I get to complain if I see the services is lacking in any way under this areas. My issue is with MY perceived quality of B, and since there absolutely no standard for what products can appear on B ( say for example a minimum metacritic rating for example) there is always going to be issues of perceived quality. My complain is that since I don't see the current value of B) I ended up subsidizing all the other people that do use the service.

As a consumer I don't care what Sony does to provide this service or to aggregate value, I can understand circumstances as not offering retail games on the first year of the PS4 or up to 2 years, but that is completely different as being a corporate apologist.

The kind of people who like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are probably the same kind of people that use the word "thug" as racist code language to describe young black teenagers. They might not be comparable, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

Haha...well put.

You have a Reagan avatar, you should be finding the best deal for your PS+ subscription and not just paying full price.

It isn't the cost, it's the principal. The online service is barely better than it was on the PS3, yet we're now forced to pay for it. As I've said before, They need to revamp PS+ and offer a two tier sub system.

These threads are a mes lol. Entitled complainers much?

Oh no! I said something slightly negative about Sony's service I have to pay for. :((

Got nothing to do with saying something negative, plus has disappointed me too, just your comment was irrelevant, no one cares if you are going to sub or not nor does it have anything to do with the thread. Oh no I called you out.

Total BS, it is night and day with party chat, and how smooth, fast everything is.

But you aren't "forced" to do anything. No more than you are "forced" to pay for Directv. Or "forced" to pay for Spotify. If you really think it's a ripoff, or anticonsumer, or just not worth it, what kind of message are you sending by paying it?

Wow value of ps plus is really declining exponentially (not gonna argue about the quality though because to each his own, this just really really isn't for me, not going to waste my bandwidth) but on the plus side of things gwg offerings are more in line with my tastes these days so I got that going for me which is nice.

This thread just reached critical dumbass

Why are people so against other people complaining about a service they are currently paying for? Is PS+ free or something?

Again this wouldn't be an issue if there was a tier system for people that don't care about the games at all (or at least the current offer of games for PS4) but since there isn't, you will have to man up and eat the complain of other people that may not be as please about how their 16 cents per day are being used on the service they are paying for.

They don't have to be comparable. But am I wrong?

The people defending this month likely enjoy indie games whereas the people usually complain about broken AAA (more than broken indie) games (BF4 on PS4, AC: Unity on consoles, Batman: AK on PC) being released. They are not likely the same people.

I've seen an equal amount of people doing the opposite here for retail games.

People are way too defensive in here. It's clear there would be backlash and disappointment considering how strong the offerings were and still kind of are on PS3. There are many of us who are subbed with the hope of the PS3 like content being released on Plus, but are indirectly just paying for multiplayer access at the moment.

PS Plus was never meant for everyone but we are approaching 2 years into the PS4's life cycle. It's not unreasonable to ask for meatier content. Also who in the world gets the idea that Sony is paying me to play their games? That is probably the dumbest thing I've read in a while now.

Best wishes.
The 'With us or against us' nature of online discussion is quite tiring. It's too bad PS+ and gated multiplayer became intertwined because no doubt that's caused as much friction as the tonal shift in game releases.

I think the lineup is great and I only VERY rarely pre order games. The only game I've pre ordered in the last 5 years was Dark Souls 2 (because of that awesome Black Armor edition)

Would I have preffered a bigger AAA? Sure, but what we got is still really good IMO

Honestly kinda looking forward to styx. I know it's a super by the numbers stealth game, but i'm kinda in the mood for that.

Same here man. So excited for rocket league. I loved it during the beta. Not sure why all the doom and gloom for this month.

That is a silly thing to say. Don't be a knucklehead. I was personally going to buy rocket league for $20, now I don't have to. I don't see how that lumps me with people who preorder games.

It's 50 a year, not 60. And people paying attention generally can get it from $30-40.

Even at $50, we're talking $4 a month... an amount many people drop at a coffeeshop without even blinking.

For that $4, we get online, sure, but also 6 games. It's a fantastic value. Even if you hate every other month, it's still a fantastic value. It only takes one game you really wanted and had planned to buy (at, say, $15 value) to 'pay' for almost 4 months. Plus you get to try out 23 other games during that period, and might actually discover you like some of them. And if you buy it at $30 on sale? Two fucking games a year that rock your world (say, binding of isaac, or resogun, or yakuza if that's your thing) justify the whole year. Everything else? Bonus.

Hell, even if you value 'good' games at a paltry $3 'rental', you only need 10 to 16 games out of 72 per year to qualify as 'good' to justify it.

That doesn't include money saved on discounts and other perks.

People bitch and moan about the 6 games that are coming out this month... while anyone with an annual sub probably has a backlog of dozens (upon dozens) of previous ps+ games they haven't had a chance to get to yet.

Ridiculous value for our gaming dollar, and it is borderline hysterical watching some act like sony is ripping them off.

I got excited when I saw Geometry Wars but it isn't cross-buy. Other games seem interesting enough. I almost bought Entwined from the last sale but I didn't pull the trigger due to my epic backlog. So I'm happy for that one.

I really though ps+ was 60$. It really is 49.99$ even here in canada. Damn.

Thats 13 cent per day, NOT THAT OVERPRICED 16 CENT BULLSHIT.

Again that is subjective and you don't decide if people should feel fine or not about the value they get on the products and services they expend their own money. Each and everyone of us gets their own money and each has its own scale into how much they appreciate each dollar we earn. If people see poor value then it is their perception and it isn't any better than yours that perceive good value.

I am going to be extremely cordial with what I'm about to say. Extremely cordial.

Pretty much everyone who is doubting this month's offerings is going to feel very, very stupid once they actually play Rocket League.
