PS+ July 2015: Rocket League, Styx, rain, Mousecraft, Geometry Wars 3, Entwined

Rain and Geometry Wars are some small titles I always meant to get around to. But Rocket League...thats awesome I can't wait to play that.

Still, they have so many games available from the PS3 catalog how can they not manage to bring some big AAA title?

And offering a game Microsoft has been packing in with their consoles for free anyway is 'moving outside their comfort zone'?

I was mostly talking about BC rather than their GfG offerings. Which I like better than PS+ mostly because I think Black Flag is an incredible game (which I already beat on PC)

I haven't been too hot about PS+' offerings since a few months now, so I let my sub lapse. I'm just not that interested in Rocket League or Styx as I was about Binding of Isaac or DmC when they went free.
People deserve to have an opinion about a service, if anyone says the contrary that's a huge bias toward anything "negative". An opinion may lead to PS+ getting better content down the line. Conformism isn't really all that helpful, we don't owe Sony any favors. It's up to them to keep us subscribing.

Holy B-tier, Batman!

PS+ Is starting to look more like a random Humble bundle every month. The only game I'm actually excited about is Geometry Wars as I never had a 360. I'll try rain and Rocket League... but Styx, Mousecraft and Entwined? Why even bother.

Fair enough.

I still don't necessarily agree with some of that sentiment, but that's a subjective thing. :)

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

Because certain people will like them?

i dont have a problem with the game but its strange that they dont give much retail ps3 games for a dead console now, they could give more variety to their offer, with all the jrpg... there is a lot of possiblity.

tales series, ff, nier,...(even though i got them already), but since they give us batman arkham asylum not too long ago is a sign that now its indies everywhere.

Amazing how people have different tastes

Amazing how this is why arguments about PS+ games are stupid for this very reason. You might hate the games. Someone else will like them. It's impossible for them to please everyone. But getting angry on some "Sony is fucking up!" shit is just dumb. They aren't fucking up, they just happen to choose games you don't specifically like. Other people do. What do you want them to do?

I know right? One of the best stealth games in theblast few years is being given out, but "why even bother", sure.

Look at this list:

Not too many Japanese made games on there I gather, so your dream of a variety of RPGs is kind of out the window. There are the exceptions of course, Yakuza 4, Deadly Premonition, etc.

And why are you forgetting Dishonored?

To not trow me a bone once every blue moon. Not saying that every month should be something for me but at least 1 retail game per month on PS4 would do.

i had forgotten because its the same case as thief, tomb raider all there AAA games are given if there is a more complete version coming up

What is so special about a "retail" game? Like Knack would be a "bone" for you just because it saw a physical release? That seems like dumb logic to have. A game isn't better or more valuable just because it came in a box. That's the kind of logic I'd expect to hear from some ignorant casual gamers who think downloadable titles are cheap or something, not somebody posting on an enthusiast message board.

Well forget about Batman Arkham Asylum then as well...it is now trash because a remaster is coming.

Not the most exciting month, admittedly, but Rocket League by itself makes this worth it.

People coming in here expecting retail games - and bitching about not getting them - must be a bad joke at this point, because it ain't happening!!!

1 PS4 retail game a month? Wow, maybe Sony should also come to our houses and massage our balls and feed us cherries. Smh

Why do I bother buying any indie games on psn? Every month something is free that I paid for in the previous month.

Two out of six this month.

I view it a bit differently because its given so late and way after city. nobody really cares.
the game had the complete experience (not really dlc except joker maps)
but dishonored was given without dlc and there is a full complete hd version.
tomb raider was given and a few months later a remaster .
thief and sherlock holmes we got the inferior version since they were available on ps4 (and cheap for thief i got it new for 7€).

As for japanese games we got good things but too few, muramasa, dragons crown, dragons dogma, yakuza 4,binary domain maybe more but thats all i remember for now ( its late lol)

Dude i'm paying 16 cent to play Rocket League at launch, saving 20$. On top of that i got access to play it online. They're literally paying me to play a game that i'm sure will have lots of fun with.

In fact, i got a 1 year sub for free when i got my ps4 a few month ago. i'm not even paying 16 cent per day. Every month i feel almost bad and feel like donating to sony and all those devs lol
Good for you, but some people don't care much for Rocket League and are paying 16 cents for games they'll never play/already have and online they shouldn't have to pay for in the first place. I'm finding those who so staunchly defend the service from any sort of negative views as tiresome as those who consider all Indies shovelware.

I'm never buying a PSN game again.

Every time I buy one on sale, they end up on PS+ a couple months later.

Sorry indie developers, but if you're not on PS+ now I'm never playing you, I've been burnt too many times and conditioned into it.

If month after month goes by and you are getting games you want, then you should probably stop paying for the service. It's not about defending the service, it's about being realistic and realizing how these things work, and that nobody will ever be 100% pleased with PS+ game selection every month. It's an impossibility. You can't say "Sony needs to do better!" because there will always be people who don't care for the games, even if they choose ones you personally will like.

Bioshock Infinite?

I mean, if I tried I could discount every game ever being offered. It is just a weird thing to latch on to.

If you don't like the games fine, there are months in PS+ where nothing interests me too and/or I have purchased some games already. But it's the rampant narcissism on display that gets under people's skin.

I never said I expect them to be better or anything but I tend to expect better of retail games, let me remind you that the reason everyone loved PS+ before the PS4 release was because of the retail games being released on the services and that everyone worries was that now that PS+ was going to include online in the charge for PS4 that the value of PS+ was going to go down.

But I expect the same level of quality PS+ had during the PS3 days (Well to be honest mid 2012/mid 2013) and now I don't see the same, though I would understand that they couldn't offer the same level of quality on its first year but now we are reaching the 2nd year and the quality hasn't improve a little from November 2013, with the highlights being indie games, stand alone DLC and a paid demo (I love MGS GZ though, that doesn't mean it isn't basically a paid demo).

Before the release of PS4 that was the case and some months were even better than that. And furthermore they didn't had like a crap ton of cheap remaster games to give away.

The people that are defending this month are probably the same people that pre order and wonder why games are released broken.

How many years after the release of PS3 did PS+ even start? You are not going to see a retail game a month on the service for a long time. I think maybe starting around the end of next year there will be a large enough library of PS4 titles that publishers will be more willing to offer some of them to the service.

You are saying Sony is supporting 3 platforms now instead of 2, great. But as a consumer that pays for a service why should I care about how many platforms Sony is supporting, I am paying for PS+ so I can play online on PS4 and get the games selection they choose fit for each month, plus some discounts on several games and cloud saving.

Why as a consumer should care about how many platforms are sony supporting? I understand their restrains but as a consumer that doesn't stop me from complain of what I perceive as poor value. Again if the selection of games keeps going like now, I would rather have sony include a online only tier of PS+ where I pay for only using online on PS4 and no subsidize the download of games I would never play because of lack of interest.

As a consumer you should probably stop paying for a product that you don't deem to be worth it, otherwise you are a pretty bad consumer.

Again the service is the hole packed. I get my worth throw online, but that doesn't mean I can't complain because the rest of the service isn't up to what I expect. If that is the case I would rather have to only pay less for online and miss this "fantastic" games.

The thing is that PS+ is now required for online.

So is $60 a year worth it for online? That's, again, for the consumer to decide. If he's paying the $60 for Plus because online play is so important than the quality of the monthly "free" games is irrelevant.

As Sony now forces us to pay the subscription in order to play online I don't have the option to stop paying.

So the fees are, like, taken directly out of your paycheck or something?

I could also make a correlation between lack of intelligence and bad posts, but I don't think it needs to be spelled out that blatantly.

Unless of course you're just trying to be sarcastic... But it's hard to tell.
