Seath continues to be an absolute null read for me. He's been more active today though.

I got scummy reads from Tim early on too but those have mostly subsided.

I was going back through the last day, and Salva's "I'm Royal_Flush, the Vote Counter" bugs me - if we are assuming three scum left, and Salva is scum with a doublevote or something, we could already be in MyLo, or very close.

I've never really been a fan of mass claims, but for right now if Salva is Town, and he has something useful to do, then it would only draw scum's kill as opposed to an ordinary (not that that is good, but it's better than a potentially useful PR).

I expect a mass claim would largely just ID the ordinaries anyway, which technically does the same thing,

At any case it's just Seath and Salva who haven't claimed a role at this point, I think? Or didn't Fire claim either.

The doors swung open, and Swamped marched into the room.
Salvapot looked up at her in horror, and sprang from his seat to stand beside Nin. “Swamped, no, don’t take him, he just had a few too many to drink.”
Swamped didn’t respond, she simply stared at them.
Burbeting jumped from his seat as well, shouting. “All right, I’ve had enough! Retro, Swamped, this is insane! Countless people have been murdered!”
AbsolutBro jumped up, also shouting “We aren’t investigators! We’re idiots who play a stupid game on the internet! We should have called the police when this whole mess started!”
When he finished, the silence rang out in the room like a gunshot.

There they stood, together, Nin1000, Burbeting, AbsolutBro, and Salvapot, and in that moment, they realized that Ourobolus, Timeaisis, CzarTim, and Seath had not lifted so much as a finger to help them defend the fallen Ty4on.

Four people stood. Four people sat.

The number of surviving Uninvited Guests is now equal to the number of remaining Invited Guests. The Uninvited have met their win condition.

Retro rose from his chair and walked to where Swamped stood.
“I think it’s time to tell them,” he said quietly.
Swamped smiled, “I’m sorry everyone, for fooling you, but none of what you’ve experienced over the last several days has been real.”
Retro spoke. “When Swamped decided to get married, she wanted a simple friends and family only ceremony. But, we’re such a tight-knit community, she knew all of you would want to come. But you’re all… just… so… you.”
Everyone exchanged looks.
“So Swamped invited you all to a different wedding, but she deliberately left a few of you off of the invite list. Then she left notes under each of the doors of the people who were not invited, and hired her ‘wedding planner,’ Karkador, to form them into a proper scum team.
Swamped smiled, “YesNOnoNOYes, meanwhile, planned a wonderful wedding for me in Carlsbad, on the beach, at sunset.”
“That’s where I was when I went missing a few days ago, by the way,” Retro winked, “I was helping Ynnny with the final preparations.”
“People have died!” Salvapot cried.
“Who?” Swamped asked.
“Roy! BSP! Launch! Scrafty!” Nin yelled.
“Did you see their bodies?” Swamped asked.
Nin just spluttered for a moment.
“Launchpad!” AbsolutBro pointed out. “We saw Launchpad’s body!”
“Powerful sedative.” Retro said, “He was asleep.”
“What abou-” Nin began.
“Shut up!” Burbeting interrupted.
The was a moment of silence.
“You did all this, so that we wouldn’t come to your wedding?” Burb couldn’t help but shake his head. “You couldn’t just ask us not to come?”
Swamped gave him a small, sad smile. “I wanted you involved, and I thought you would like a game better than a wedding anyway. Forgive me?”

And they did.

EPILOGUE

Beginnings are easy. Endings are hard. The key is to remember that every ending is a beginning in disguise.

Although Swamped had arranged this “game” to keep the Gafia community out of her real wedding, she did still want to celebrate with them. Those who had “died” in the game turned out to not be dead at all, but had been enjoying a nice trip in and around the Los Angeles area. Roy even got to go to Disneyland. After all was said and done, the wedding dinner took place as planned with the members of the Gafia community, Swamped, and her new husband. (Who was very handsome and extremely nice, although no one ever quite caught his name, so he simply became “Mr. Swamped.”)

At the beginning of the evening, cabot went to the bar and attempted to drink it. Ourobolus, however, took him by the shoulder and steered him away from it.

At another table, Hyperactivity was heard, saying, “No one remembers that I helped run Gafia 1? No one?”
Kawl simply shrugged. “I guess you got to make sure you get your time in the spotlight, man.” He toasted Hyper. “I’ll make sure I get mine next season.”

A short distance away, Burbeting and Nin1000 sat together. Nin took a long look at Burb, and said, “You know, Burb…”
“Bite your tongue. Don’t say it.”
“We really were the Uninvited.”
Nin’s hospital bills were extensive when he was discharged the next day.

As the evening wore down, various members of the Gafia community stood to give their best wishes to the happy couple. Sorian went on at length, until Scrafty forcibly wrestled the microphone away from him. Upon realizing that she was now in the spotlight, she was suddenly overcome by a very rare case of stage fright, and practically threw the microphone at Retro.

This is what Retro said:

Some things never change in a little community like ours. Making fun of Sorian’s beanie and his prolific post count will never not be funny. Scrafty will always be proud of her acting skills, her athletic prowess, and her figure. Ourobolus will always be kind of a cantankerous bastard, and Crab will celebrate the start of each new season by going to PoliGAF and getting himself banned for a couple of weeks.

Some things do change, however. Some of our friends no longer sit here with us, and we miss them. Perhaps they grew tired of the game, perhaps life got in their way. Some of us have gotten engaged, or even married. Some of us have children, or are going to have children. It’s all part of this messy thing we call life.

In return we’ve gained new friends, told new stories and come up with new jokes. In the past few months we’ve come up with Xamxiety. We’ve learned that Scrafty is always right and that I am terrible at being scum. We’ve overcome the jitters and we’ve embraced Discord. We have people with us today who weren’t here a few months ago, and we are grateful to have them. The people who play the games today will design the games tomorrow, and the cycle continues.

Is it strange to put so much value in an online community that’s less than two years old? Perhaps so, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. In the meantime, I know this is getting sappy. Bear with me, I’m almost done.

I’ve said this often, so forgive me if you’re tired of it, (I can hear Sorian’s eyes rolling from here,) but I’m going to keep saying it for as long as I can, because it will always be true: The games we play will never be as important as the friendships we build while we play them. So many of us share our lives, in and out of the games, with one another. Friendships are built here that cross borders, time zones, and political ideologies.

Friendships like these are like life rafts in the tumultuous seas of life, keeping us afloat until help can come from closer shores. My friends here have calmed me down when I was angry at how a game was going. My friends here celebrated with me when I learned that was going to be a father. My friends here have been that - true friends.

I am grateful for the friendships I’ve made, here in Gafia.

Thank you, everyone, for just being you.

Feels little weird that game was in MYLO even though town had a 50% correct hits at the start of D7 (Counting the arsonist here). Six scum, even if one was hidden partner, felt too high number for this game.

Still, town deserved to lose this one, we wouldn't have most likely caught Ouro's lie until it was too late.

I have to admit that this game made me very upset, and almost made me drop out multiple times. Mafia games shouldn't have that affect, but this one did.

Congratulations scum! You guys played very well, Ourob in particular! I never suspected you to be scum, while I did suspect time, seath and tim when I died :)

And to town:

ALWAYS BE LYNCHING FIREBLEND ONLY WORKS IF I LYNCH FIREBLEND!!!!

I didn't lynch fireblend this game = so I (and thus town) lose :( That's how it works. I appreciate the effort of lynching fireblend after I died, but unfortunately that is not how the rule works :)

About the game itself: Outside of the end of day 1 (more about that later) and Discord trying it's best to get me kicked out, I had a lot of fun in it! I liked the table mechanic and how that gave us something more to talk about, even though I am not the biggest fan of the level of RNG it introduced to the game. Thank Retro for making/hosting it!

Balance wise, I think the game was skewed a bit too much toward scum. Scum having 6 members was to much. Not only meant that we had to lynch more scum before winning and they had more votes, it also helped them since nobody expect there to be that many scum, which lead to town being in lylo without realizing it, a HUGE advantage for scum. Combine that with the fact that town wasn't that powerful pr wise (only scrafty, launch and Xam had useful powers, and even then launch was confined to his table and Xam was a fair bit RNG) and I think it would have been better balance wise to remove one scum.

Then about the end of day 1, I didn't brought it up during the game since I didn't want to derail it, but that was probably the most frustrated and mad I have ever been in a gafia game. Some people made jokingly remarks about me saying I wouldn't post anymore and then still post, which is fine, but I really got the feeling some of you seriously accused me of lying about real life stuff, which is basically accusing me of cheating. That was not fun at all, being forced to explain how I prepare to go to work was incredibly dumb. Please never do that again, it really took all the fun out of the game for me for a while.

The rest of the game was very fun though!

I knew I had to use my override yesterday, but I never imagined we were so close to losing that I had to keep an eye on the thread like a hawk or someone would get turbo'd, even if it hadn't been me. I was with some friends IRL and I couldn't keep an eye on the thread. Literally realized I'd died like an hour after the day ended. That's the second game I get an override and don't use get to use it, damn :(

Congrats, winners.

Also, Time got saved the previous day by a frog's hair... If y'all had lynched him we probably would have lost because Ty, Roy, and Burbeting were spot on with their reads.

Anyways, it was fun playing as scum.

Ouro had a perfectly fine reason to give Ty the drink, since nin was the only one who hadn't recived one yet.

Ty should have told us that the PM he received was different that the first time, though. That could have tipped us off.

That was a fun game to play/watch though the one extra scum really messed with town. The last day might have turned out differently if they weren't lowballing the scum number. It was fun reading the mafia chat when they were planning and executing the turbo. Even though I was technically on their side I was sort of hoping it went horribly wrong.

It was a very swingy game due to rng. We got screwed a few times, but holy shit did we get lucky when it mattered most. Launch being at a different table for our scrafty / bronx kills. Time just happened to be next to cam the night he ignited (this is what won us the game). And then we really needed rng to help us at the end there.

Our team was completely dependent on one role for any sort of strategy. If rnh had been lynched day one we would have been completely reliant on rng for our night actions. I don't really like that as a design. I'd have rathered time and I get weaker roles with more agency.

The arso really needed to be a normal arso. I have no idea why this community has become so adverse to normal 3p killers, but it hurts balance when they don't act normally.

I do think town would have won this had you lynched scum on day 7. All of our strategy depended on that.

There is another Uninvited whose identity is unknown to you. Your identities are known to that player. This player cannot be recruited, and can be killed by you. They will gain the night kill if all of the other Uninvited are killed, and they will attain victory if and when you do.
Oh, you were invited to the wedding all right. As the wedding planner. Swamped thought you would be perfect for making the seating arrangements, but not for actually sitting at the tables.
At any rate, it doesn’t matter. You knew when the wedding would be, so you just showed up anyway.
During the night phase, you will have the option to choose the seating location of up to four players before the day begins. This will need to be done within the first twenty-four hours of the night phase. You may do this by PMing Retro a list of names in the order: <PLAYER>: <TABLE #>-<SEAT #>
After you have selected your four seats, the rest of the seat will be chosen at random.
You have a night kill, which can be submitted during the night phase by PMing RetroMG with the command KILL: <PLAYER> You will not be able to perform the night kill and assign seats.
You win when the Uninvited equal or outnumber all other players.

You like to drink. Nothing wrong with that, am I right? Just because you like a cold drink (or six) after Badminton doesn’t make you an alcoholic. That’s just a joke Gafia players like to make. That can’t be why Swamped didn’t send you a wedding invitation… can it?
At any rate, it doesn’t matter - a note was slipped under your door one night with the time and place of the event.
During the night phase, you may take a drink by PMing RetroMG the command DRINK:<NAME>, <NAME> You and the two selected players will take a drink, and will get slightly more drunk. (The players will be informed that they are getting progressively more tipsy.) If a single player takes three drinks, they will pass out and be removed from the game. The two players that you choose must be next to one another, and must be at the same table as you.
If you take four drinks, you will pass out and be removed from the game. You may, however, avoid this but submitting the command PURGE. You will not be able to drink or submit any other commands that night, but your drink counter will be reset to zero.
You have a night kill, which can be submitted during the night phase by PMing RetroMG with the command KILL: <PLAYER> You will not be able to perform any other commands with your night kill.
You win when the Uninvited equal or outnumber all other players.
