Yep. Have they put up the pricing yet? I assume it's not just a free patch.

Looks like $10 for the upgrade. Looks easily worth it. My launch lineup is looking like this:

  • Super Stardust Ultra
  • Rez Infinite
  • DriveClub VR
  • SuperHyperCube
  • Battlezone (is SSDU making this redundant though?)
  • PlayStation VR Worlds

I was so sold on Battlezone... But looking at Super Stardust Ultra VR for $10 and knowing the pedigree of Housemarque and seeing Battlezone at $60...

Are other people wondering this too? Fairly similar looking gameplay.

Right. I'm all pre-ordered and ready to go.

Got Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, Super Stardust and RIGS coming with it.

I'm pretty sure I'll end up getting Rez and the Psyconauts game day 1 (I think they're both launching then?)

So tempting to just order everything else as well. I really want Battlezone and EVE too, but I don't want to just buy everything at once and not play it all

Anyone got hands-on on "Loading Human" . This looks also interesting , as it offers emotional stuff , an storyline and the use of move controls

Any info on The Assembly release date other than later this year?? I was folowing it since announcement but lost his trail a few months back.

To answer myself... today nDreams confirmed The Assembly as a launch title priced at £19.99 ($29.99 USD / €24.99).

What's the deal with Here They Lie?

Is it Amazon exclusive? I don't see a physical version listed anywhere else. Did I miss it?

Any word if Call of Duty Jackal Assault is going to be made available to those who didn't purchase Infinite Warfare? I'm getting it on Xbox
because the DS4 is terrible for shooters.

So I need Gaf's opinion. I have a PS VR preordered but I'm debating cancelling it since nothing until later this year interests me enough to buy it. However, I don't want it to be sold out and have to spend 50% more to get one from an Ebay re-seller. Does anyone think that will happen or do you think I'll be able to get one for retail price around the holidays?

My crystal ball is saying "I don't know."

I think you might be able to. But we really don't know anything about this as of Today.

I'm guessing it'll be sold out through holidays. I think word of mouth from the sold out launch allocation is going to be very strong.

Just keep it and sell it if you don't want it. You'll be able to recoup the majority of the price probably.

I got both the core and the launch bundle on preorder. Not sure which one to cancel. I already have the camera and two move controllers, but the value you get for the launch bundle is pretty nice. What's everyone's opinion?

I was in the same boat as you and cancelled the bundle. There's no value if you already own the camera, and especially no value if you already own two Move controllers. To add to the pile, if you're an Amazon Prime member you can get VR Worlds for $32 instead of $40. Also in case you didn't know, the "new" camera that comes with the bundle has the same internal tech as the original one you already have.

50 freaking PSVR games available day 1 on launch! (Including PSVR Patched and F2P)

Why? xD

Yeah but aren't most of these games just super short "experiences"? Also a good number of these titles have already been released and not very critically accepted. Here is a quote from The Assembly review at Gamespot:

"Virtual reality works best when games utilize it in ways that are inherently unique to the technology. Still, plenty of developers shoehorn games into VR that fail to live up to the technology's potential. Unfortunately, The Assembly falls into this category."

That is not the kind of thing I want to be reading about these games / experiences right before I drop hundreds of dollars on the new hardware.

Robinson The Journey looks great though and would almost be reason enough for me to jump in if it got good reviews. Some of the impressions I read though weren't too pleased with the games movement controls, etc.

Not most of them, A lot of them have extensive campaigns or endless replayability.

Only a few are short experiences like Batman, Kismet, Loading Human (Because they divided it by chapters), Tomb Raider and Physchonauts.

The rest of the games while some may be considered experiences they offer endless replayability which justifies the purchase IMO.

Of course the lesser experiences are $20 so you can't really complain, you get what you payed for in a way.

Yeah true. I was really hoping Resident Evil 7 would be a launch title. That is by far the biggest reason for me wanting this. Shame it is not out till January.

FWIW I posted my likely launch pickups a few pages back and I would describe very few of them as "experiences". Honestly, the launch lineup for this thing is the best for a major platform in some time. Certainly better than the PS4/X1.

Is Batman VR getting a physical release in the EU? I've seen the box for the US version and i'm positive i've read somewhere EU is getting it also? Still waiting for Driveclub VR physical to go up for pre-order so I guess sites may be slow.

Also, I bit the bullet.....

While I would disagree with you on the launch lineup quality, the big issue is simply that a stellar launch lineup isn't as important for well established hardware brands. Everyone who bought a PS4 at launch knew that even if the launch lineup wasn't mind blowing, those games were coming, guaranteed.

However, the same can't be said for VR. First, it's new tech, devs are still getting used to it and figuring out how to make the most of the new experiences it can provide players. Second, their is no guarantee it will continue to get developer support. If it doesn't sell well or games on it don't sell well, developers will simply move on. That is a risk generally non existent when buying a PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, etc.

This might sound like I'm shitting all over VR but I am actually really excited for it. However, I don't see much hype building for it. Every gamer I know who was hyped for it at announcement has either cancelled their pre-order or are just getting it cause they can afford it and like having the newest toys. None of them are very hyped and I think this is a shame. This is a pretty historic event in a way.

These are the two games I'm getting from PSN, just need to pick up some yen cards.

What's that second game called? You know, for posterity and stuff.

I'm really hoping we get some good in-depth previews of the final versions of DC VR, Battlezone, Eve and Rigs on the 5th. Just to know what I should order and what I shouldn't right away.
