Wow, what an enormous improvement.
Whoever is responsible for this remaster deserves some serious praise, they did a great job.
Holy crap, I got goosebumps from looking at the MWR nuke scene. Something that didn't happen when I first played MW in 2010. This remaster looks fucking phenomenal.
What a ride!
Got upto The Bog before i had to go to bed, but damn this is one amazing game, you forget just how good it was.
The thing for me is it's taking a little while to get used to the controls again because I have been conditioned by previous CoD games that they are fast paced action games, and this is not, it's a lot slower and takes some getting used to.
Hail to the king, baby.
From what I've played so far this isn't a remaster. This is a complete remake of the game but it still feels as fantastic as the original. Activision is actually selling this short and to be quite honest, people that want this standalone for $20 are out of their mind.
Considering that this is much better than the remasters we are getting on PS4/XB1 and it also includes multiplayer, Activision can easily justify charging $60 for this as a standalone and if it was me I would charge $60 for this standalone.
Getting this for $80 with COD: IW included was the bargain of the year.
Wow, this campaign. I never played the original MW, but I've definitely heard about how influential it's been. I'm not too far in; just finished Death From Above. Obviously a video game about war can't be all that "realistic," but this one does such a great job of making you feel like you're really there. So many times, even only playing a couple hours so far, I've been just horrified by what's going on. The settings and the missions ... it's like a nightmare. The AC-130 mission was tbh pretty upsetting. Thinking back to MW2 (Burger Town ftw), I don't remember it seeming this way at all.
Anyway, can't wait to see what else is in store. Definitely glad I played Spec Ops before this. I can see why people say this campaign was such an achievement.
Wow they really upgraded the nuke scene. I might just say fuck it and shell out the 80 for this.
Having the same issue but wth GameStop.Still haven't gotten my Best Buy email. Anybody in the same boat? If I don't get it by the end of the work day, I'm returning the preorder. I'll take my money else where 😀
Is this remaster worth $60 alone?
Not sure if related but the Gamestop people didn't know how to get the code, it's not an insert or anything. First they tried replacing my order and printing the receipt but it was just the IW multiplayer code. They had to call some regional associate and print out something else to get it.
I wouldn't be surprised if Activision is making it difficult to get the campaign, considering all the other obstacles they're putting in front of MWR.
These impressions are incredible.
So the question is is it worth the price of admission if you zero interest in Infinite Warfare?
Modern Warfare is my #1 shooter of all time but hate where the series is going. I was going to wait for the inevitable(hopeful) stand alone release but these impressions are making me reconsider how patient I can be.

This really is a fucking brilliant remaster. This is exactly how my mind remembers CoD4. I highly suggest you guys turn off auto aim though. The game is so much better without.
Even at Veteran?

Prototype and Deadpool were not labeled as remasters, they were ports from the beginning if I recall correctly. So not the same situation as this.I can't get over how good of a remastering effort this is - to think this is coming from Activision, the publishers that shat out Prototype and Deadpool 'remasters'. Kudos to them, Infinity Ward and Raven, I've never felt more satisfied with purchasing a premium edition in my life.
