Seems like a pretty direct correlation there.
I mean, the Hawks have led the league in scoring defense for four straight seasons and have a good chance for year #5 this season.
2012 Kaep and Carson Palmer were no joke. Palmer didn't fall off until this season and Kaep didn't fall off until Harbs left.
Meanwhile the Pats haven't had any good QBs in their division since Dan Marino and Jim Kelly.
Matt Saracen could throw a perfect corner route to the sidelines
The AFCW has Siemian and Small Hands though, and they played the 49ers and Rams (either Keenum or rookie Goff, both should be fairly easy to handle). I think more than anything, can we name any great players from those secondaries?
FWIW, disregarding any stats, I don't think the Saints defense has been nearly as bad as they were last year. They have done a good job in a number of games. Brees and the offense are the cause for at least five of the losses.

Spurs are perpetually on top until Cowboys can actually manage to get a SB win. They have 5 titles and have mostly been in the title hunt over the past 15+ years. Meanwhile, Dallas wasn't even in the playoffs for a good chunk of that same time, and when they did make it they usually lost in their first playoff round.
Rangers should be higher than the Rockets, they at least made the WS a few times. Rockets in the Finals? lolol...

Yea, Saints D actually had a few dominant games, and a few stinkers. Turnovers on offense and devastating special teams plays nullified a lot of the defensive positives this year. On the other hand, when the offense was clicking, in those games the defense let us down. Inconsistent play on both sides of the ball and terrible special teams play doomed this years Saints. But looking forward, inconsistency is easier to fix than just plain being bad. There is reason to hope next year. Our dead money situation improves by like 20 million, and our good 2015 and 2016 draft classes have 1 more year of experience.
Overall hiring Jeff Ireland as head of college scouting in 2015, and really it seems like he is head of drafting in general, has improved us for the future.
The fact that the Week 16 OT is not up shows the lack of leadership NFLGAF lacks at this moment in time.
Someone needs to grab the thread by its horns and say "I RUN THIS MUTHAFUCKA"
