We're getting a level 50 rider next episode - which is number 15
how high are the numbers going to go when we reach episode 40?

Paradox looks so ugly though.

By episode 40, Emu will need to do a New Game+, lose every powerup, and restart from Level 1/2 to get any stronger.

(Actually, on second thought, I feel like that's something they'd do.)

What's the best place to buy the shout factory releases of sentai? I bought Zyu and Dai but some of the later ones seem to be out of print officially on Amazon already

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.

Kakuranger and Ohranger are still up on Amazon. At least from what I'm seeing.
There's also Best Buy or Target or really any store that sells DVDs (online at least).

Carranger is coming April.

Boss Doggie

Zoo 45

oh crap this is the balls all right, the true form reveal is fantastic and Yamato's backstory is fleshed out

funny if you think about it in Ninninger, it feels like Yamato's family aspect is stronger even though technically he shunned his father, unlike Takaharu's.

Ex-Aid 14

Show continues to be the shit. Dangerous Zombie and Mighty Brothers are both cool forms. Probably the coolest in a while.

I thought that girl was just for the movie tie in, but it looks like she's an actual character. Wonder how she relates to Emu.

Zoo 44-45

44 was decent but 45 was great. Liked the reveal and how quickly things escalated. This show has some pacing issues, but it's definitely well written.

More plot progression and Yamato and dad plot. The family plot is less, but still better used here than it was on Ninninger, lol.

Damn, Uncle Mario, that's... racist? Animalist? Not sure.

That seven people roll call (and team formation) was cool. I wonder how Kyuranger's will be, they can do a lot of different things with it. ToQ still was the best.

Cool that the ancient powerful evil is actually just another general, still subordinate for the bad guy. That if Azald doesn't pull a Long after this episode, which I doubt, after seeing the next episode's preview. After that Gennis demonstration, the power levels here are really high, lol.

Just like Argyle said, Zyuoh had some pacing issues, in special with the villains plots, imo, but it's a great show.

Ex-Aid 14

Double Riders Emu was off to a good start, hahaha. The drama part of the story is really good, too. I really liked how Emu acted on the scene he was convincing Hiiro.

I wonder what is this girls connection with M. Yeah, her timing showing up wasn't good (I also thought she was a movie tie-in), but she could be an interesting character.

I love how Zombie Genm Henshin phrases are just a bunch of dangerous-sounding nonsense. Also, I'm not a fan of Ex-Aid's ost, but that insert song fits so well with him fighting.

The funny thing with Gingaman is that my two of my favorite characters are sentai veterans, Sasuke from Kakuranger and Kyosuke from Carranger.

Wish more series did things like that, even if it's just for a few episodes (like Red Racer here on Gingaman, or all the cameos in Hurricanger)

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Zyuohger 45

Damn, things got even crazier. True Azald is a beast.

Hopefully Yamato can make up with his dad. Looks like it might happen next week.

Ex-Aid 14

Loving Mighty Brothers XX, perfect co-op indeed.

Emu having the virus is a good explanation the differences between him and M. You can even hear it in their pronouns. Emu uses "boku", M uses "ore".

Teaser trailer highlighting 22 heroes for the upcoming Chou Super Hero Taisen movie. In total though, there'll be more than 100 heroes.

Kamen Riders

Amazon
Stronger
Agito
Ryuki
Zolda
Den O
Decade
Drive
Ghost
Ex-Aid

Super Sentai

Ryu Ranger (Dairanger)
Kirin Ranger
Houou Ranger
Tenma Ranger (Dairanger)
Gokai Red
Red Buster
Beet Buster
Kyoryu Red
Kyoryu Gold

Shishi Red (Kyuranger)

In addition, there's going to be the surprising appearance of new heroes and the revival of "those" heroes. Previous promo image have also shown Brave and Snipe from Ex-Aid, alongside the full 9 Ranger line up from Kyuranger.

http://www.cinematoday.jp/page/N0088977

The Cinema Today article also highlights how Den-O will be celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

Anyway, I hope the inclusion of Zolda and Ryuki there means they'll actually get focus in the movie. It'd be interesting to finally see how they'd handle writing them post-series (and how they'd retcon everyone into becoming Riders again). It also would work well here since this movie is based on a death game too. Ryuki's and Zolda's actors have returned to voice themselves in games, but never in live action.

In fact, most of the 22 heroes highlighted in that teaser seem like people who could return easily - aside from the odd Stronger listing, since his actor is dead.

I'm always wary of cast lists like that for these movies. You might see someone present for a split second fighting in the background, then get them doing a Rider Kick in sync with all their other brethren, and that's it.

Just have to wait and see.

New heroes? Revival of "those" heroes?

METAL HEROES ARE BACK?
Eh, probably not, but I do wonder who the new heroes could be.

Also, apparently there were some leaked images with the Amazons on the set. So, those are probably in, too.

Kiriya maybe

also how will they play Stronger?

He could be just suit-only with a replacement VA, like in Megamax. The Great Leader's original actor has been dead for a while, and yet he has appeared several times since then, often as the main antagonist (Kamen Rider Taisen, Drive vs Ninninger, SHTGP, KR4)

How do you like it so far?

I'm enjoying it. The costumes have really grown on me, and it feels like everyone got a good chunk of character growth and development. Some more than others. I have missed quite a few seasons so I don't know if I could place it anywhere, but it's right there for Kyoryuger for me.

It's one of the best sentai shows in the past three years. I should watch Kyoryuger again.

Yeah, I think Kyoryuger was stronger in general, even if I like Yamato way way better than Daigo (and what his popularity did for the two future reds, ugh).

Eh, I like Zyuohger cast more than Kyoryuger, but still like both. The only character that's a problem for me in that is Daigo. I think Kyoryu's villains and story was a bit more consistent, too. The action was better, and everything was a bit more over the top, which for me made it a bit better.

I was going to comment on both Zyuohger and Ex-Aid episodes but after that Mighty Brothers beat down, I'm too busy imagining Ex-Aid in Climax Heroes. He could have tag/assist groove with himself after powering up.

And that finisher, aaaaaaah, so good!

Kyoryuger > Zyuohger

Not to say Zyuohger hasn't been great, but Kyoryuger is hard to beat.

Zyuohger's characters are charming and the show has that nice back-to-the-basics feel to it, but at times it can feel rather unfocused with its various disconnected plot elements (in particular, I feel like they could've done better to tie together the Deathgalians, Zyuland, and some other aspects of the show). These parts are definitely greater than the whole at most times, which makes me forgive the show, but I feel as though it could've been better at tying everything together into the bigger picture.

Kyoryuger on the other hand is a pretty tight show in terms of its pacing. The show had clear, defined arcs running throughout, the characters all larger-than-life and are all likeable, and the action somehow balanced out the crazy amount of collectibles.

This is where I'm at. Fuck Daigo.

I think Zyuoh has better choreography as well, although, tbf, I haven't seen Kyoryu since it ended.

I couldn't really stick with Ex Aid guys. Sorry. But these outfits just kill everything. Even when the folks in Gaim did something cheesy in a fight at least the outfits for the most part were cool. Ex Aid looks like deviant art OG Riders and it aint Gaim level story telling. More of a middle tier Drive sorta thing I guess.

Guess I'll wait for fall to see whats next. Between Spectre and Ex Aid this has been a long break :(

Did you watch up to the most recent episodes or did you drop it around the beginning?

Honestly, Zyuohger biggest problem is that its highs aren't as high as other seasons. It lacks that "holy shit" factor, even though it had its moments (the first GIFT episode, for instance). On the other hand, the characters are surprisingly well written and not that one dimensional when compared to the average toku show (Misao and Yamato in particular) and the interactions are pretty good outside of the usual action/gag/one note moments from other shows too (Leo and Sela, Tusk and Misao, Larri and everybody, Uncle and Yamato). One has to wonder if any of that has to do with the lack of constant weapons/power ups for the characters...

Aside of that, action is consistently good (something unfortunately rare) and even the early third/fourth of the show had surprisingly interesting action scenes with the mechs too.

It is a top tier show, but at the same time it's no wonder some people will find it forgettable.

Zombie is legitimately one of the best Rider designs in the last 3 years IMO.

Reminder that global warming will kill us all before Kamen Rider Aqua's series.
Aqua still will happen before
Ankh returns
though.

Kyoryuger is better in every single way, I feel. Story, characters, designs, music, action, jokes; even Daigo was a more interesting and entertaining Red and leader, it's what they two shows that came after it tried to copy and failed miserably.

I'm still disappointed how they wasted Kamen Rider Aqua's design/motif on a movie exclusive rider.

Just saw someone pointing out that one of the background people in the new Ex-Aid episode was wearing an Amanogawa school uniform (it's in the scene with people running away from the monster in the hospital).
