Part 4 is easily the best anime so far. Best cast, villain, setting, etc.

And by far the best memes. :p

I think Yu Yu Hakusho was OK with romance.

OP has romance but Oda just treats it as part of the world/characters/gags.

I have two more pages to read but I wanted to comment that Oda has gone on record saying romance will never be used for anything more than comedy with the straw hat pirates.

luffy won't ever have a proper girlfriend, same with zoro ect :p

He said that nearly 20 years ago, and in the context that the series was never going to be a shoujo manga.

Oda's not against romance 100%, its just never going to be a main focus.

With One Piece I feel like, if the series will ever end, some of the crew will have kids after their adventures have already ended. Like I'm fully expecting the series to end like how it began, only Luffy's execution inspiring a new generation of pirates.

SanjiXPudding 4LIFE!

Serious answer: Never during the series, would Sanji up his Perv attics to much. He would have to change his gag to constantly missing her and trying to controlling himself.

yup, romance can be used for comedy, but it shouldn't be a serious focus of one piece.

nothing says the whole crew won't be seen with people at the end.

you know... zero and giraffe guy ect :p

it's the way it has to end.
they have even set it up to some degree that luffy should be in a similar situation to roger when the series ends (I haven't see the most recent stuff but the stuff i am referring to is actually back a long time ago... though i think it might have been just after where toonami stopped)

wtf, i thought perona died by the hands of kuma

spoilers

she got hit with kuma's power, she wasn't shown dead or anything... why would she be dead o_O.

no one dies in one piece unless you specifically see their dead body, and everyone says they are dead, and you have character mourn them while their dead body continues to sit in front of them ect.

I mean if sitting the middle of a giant ass bomb in the alabasta arc didn't kill someone, why would getting touched by someone kill them o.o;

how about perona and usopp then, they made a nice couple :p
nami and cat dude.
nami and hippo lady.

anyways edited my post to make it clear I was just trying to do a pairing to mess with people :p

I could go see GitS tonight, but that would mean I'd start work about 2 hours later, which considering how busy it's been lately, I'd rather not. I'd rather do it for a film I truly want to see, like the new Wreck-It Ralph movie or Pacific Rim 2.

Edit: Funimation has revealed what you get in the Outlaw Star LE:

- a special box
- a 100 page artbook you'll look at once, then will sit on your shelf
- the same exact content that's on Blu-ray, but on an outdated, worse looking format

Apparently
it's revealed near the end thatthe Major originally was Japanese but after a fatal accident her brain was put in the Scarlett Johanasson body

Also they apparently deleted The Major's bisexuality and even threw in a trans-phobic joke into the mix.

Some execs are dumb enough to think you can counter-program Star Wars.
*meanwhile, in 2015*

"Sir, are you REALLY sure we should release this Chipmunks movie the EXACT SAME DAY as Star Wars: Episode 7?"
"OF COURSE!" Chipmunks 4 will draw in all the kids that weekend! What, you think kids care about wars in space?!"

There's actually quite a few of the second in most GITS things, which is strange considering the world they live in is all about being able to choose such things for yourself and it generally being accepted by all except religious nuts.

Man, I've been playing through 999 again via the Vita release of The Nonary Games and this game's got me again... I got my first ending and I was remembering how I beat the original release in a weekend, just almost non-stop playing. Such a great game.

You know I actually like Unicorn Gundam, but I don't think I want any part in building a model of it, it's vanilla as fuck...just like its pilot.

Part of me wants to get that collection since it's been a few years since I played 999 & would highly prefer having a map & not having to hold down the d-pad to skip cutscenes, plus VLR since it's been even longer, but 1.) too many new games, & 2.) I can't imagine it'll have the same effect as it did when I played it the first time, similar to why I can't bring myself to get Danganronpa Reloaded.

I could never understand what was happening in GITS when i was younger because i've pretty much been politically ignorant until the past couple of years and all that political philosophy flew over my head.

Pretty much the same with me. When I rewatched it a few years later, I still wasn't fully "getting" it, but I also was realizing that it felt important & I could sort of see why it gained a fanbase.

I've replayed 999 a few times. Holds up pretty well if you give it a few years. Same with VLR.
I'm sure it still holds up, but I won't have that same sense of wonder & "oh damn, what's the story gonna throw at me next?!" since I recall most of what happened/the major plot points. One of those games where I wish I could forget about the story & have that fresh "first playthrough" experience.

Apparently you can't defeat Aku by firing a fuck ton of spears at him. Looks like Jack's dad died like a Gundam parent.
"AKUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Aku: "Who dares summon me."
Jack: "There is no future for you."
Aku: "I disagree."
I really do miss Mako, bad enough I know him as Uncle Iroh, now I'm going to get used to him as his polar opposite.

I mainly got Danganronpa 1-2 Reload, because the collector's edition on NISA's site was $60 and I didn't mind getting the edition for the price and playing through the games again before V3. I'm waiting to get back into those games though and I might not tackle them until summer... Maybe a bit earlier if I get through some more of my backlog.

The Nonary Games was because it's been a long time since I played 999 and it has been a while since I played VLR. I already knew the games wouldn't have the same effect, but it's nice to go back and play them, especially 999 with all of its improvements. Plus, I got the game off Amazon for about $32 and I figure that was good enough for me to get it.

It helped I already have most of my new games ordered that I'm going to get next month, but there are still games I'm going to want eventually that are already out like Gravity Rush 2. That game I probably won't get until I beat Gravity Rush Remastered, which I'll get to after Persona 5 probably.
