I got the Mach Bike, so now I have the Ultimate Combination back! Yay! Online Newbies will feel my reign of destruction...

after I rest, because my hands are destroyed right now.

150cc is pretty pedestrian after 200cc murdering your hands, though. Sigh...so many more Kart parts to unlock again >_<

DrM

Redmond's Baby
Got it yesterday and now I am really tempted to try it on my nephews Switch. They will be totally surprised on Monday, when they return home :)

So what's up with the orange stars you have six of and use by pressing X after a race? I used them all up, and I have no idea what they do.

Finished 100cc cup with all golds and decided to give the online a go, because surely I can beat most casuals, right? WRONG. Holy shit, everyone whizzes past me, with sheer luck
I managed to finish 7th in three matches in a row, but most of the time in races I was 9-10th...

Halp?

Those are the amount of favorite replays you can save. You can press X to save that replay, in addition to the last few races in general being saved.

MK TV, favorite them to share

Actually I haven't figured out how to share them to youtube like with MK8, is that doable in MK8D?

Online should mostly be 150cc I believe. You need to turn off auto steering and acceleration for the best chance of beating others. As of the short lifespan right now, it seems the meta is to have both high speed and acceleration via the rollers and a heavy character. Inside drifting tends to be objectively superior on most maps if left uninterrupted due to cutting corners, but they're essentially neck and neck with carts. Ugh, neo bowser city..

Awesome, thanks! Will try a build like that

Playing with friends is aggravating in matchmaking... friend kept trying to join and got room full. Finally got it to work but wow it needs an update

Wait, I thought auto acceleration didn't affect anything? Isn't it just a convenience feature? Really like it, not like you're gonna not accelerate constantly anyway.

Smart Steering disables ultra boost though.

More detailed explanation:

The MT (mini-turbo) stat appears to be kinda dumb now, and accel combos (like Streetle/Landship + rollers) tend to have a ton of MT. Combine that in with a heavy's naturally great stats and there you go.

You guys spoting any differences between Switch and WiiU versions, besides the obvious?

I don't recall hearing the airport announcer at Sunshine Airport!!

...dear god i missed MK.

Warming up on the GP for now to try out some different setups before I jump into the online play. All regrets about double-dipping for full price vanished as soon as I dove into the very first cup. On the Wii U I mostly played off-TV and the bump to 720p on the portable screen hits with the force of a full remaster, even though I'd technically seen it all on a television screen before. And the rumble effect on the pink boost, good lord.

About that lightning bolt....

Well this is strangely nostalgic, lol!

Reading this last page, hearing how Heavies are even more powerful now. Poor Inklings get into a Mario Kart, and they're already nowhere near optimal. Same with AC, but we knew that already. Was hoping they would have toned Heavies down a bit, give all these new characters a better chance at things.

Here's to another few years of Morton and Wario in the same dang vehicles. At least there's Link to break the monotony of things now. :p
