Early 2017 is nearly here

Ended up getting the ps4 and pc versions, but I'm most likely gonna end up playing the pc version due to the load times.

?

That doesn't mean that it hasn't been rumored from multiple people since the DLC announcement. Idk maybe you didn't see it but people have been thinking this for months.

Secondly, Harada's always been tight-lipped as with most of the Tekken Team regarding development on this game as we've seen with the console launch. He rarely outright says anything before an official reveal. That's their whole thing.

This is the first I'm hearing about this. Where is this rumor about Lei/Julia/etc. coming from if not Harada?

Basically thousands of copies are out and being played and we peasants have to wait.
Ask a Gaffer from New York City if they can get you a copy. All the mom and pop stores around me break street date for just about every single release. lol.

I said this earlier but you can really tell on those streams that the players and their opponents already know how to play the game. No scrub matches at all. What an arcade release can do for you lol

we are all fucked if we get paired up with the koreans or japanese players.

That reminds how have american T7 been able to play? I know arcades are all over Japan/SK but not so much in America.

It has been available to play in various tournaments and conventions. I was first person to play Devil Jin in T7 in a public event/tourney in the U.S :)

Also Round 1 Arcade has cabinets but they are the original Tekken 7, not Tekken 7 Fated Retribution which the console/pc version is based on.

Where did I say Harada didn't make these comments? I've linked his comments in this thread earlier. We're using his statements so they're coming from him. I'm saying that people have thought this for months now considering his comments. Secondly, it would be a completely different story if TTT2 didn't have multiple DLC characters.

TTT2's post-release rollout (with no budget like the budget here) had multiple DLC characters, more customization, the Snoop stage, hidden stages, Online World Arena Mode, all the music from previous Tekkens and all the movies from previous Tekkens. All of that was DLC and considering that, the game died after 2 months.

Now Harada's stated with an additional budget they have for T7, they can keep this game alive for an extra year (and not the 2 months like TTT2) due to the Season Pass and they can provide free support and updates for a long time.

You can say "Harada hasn't really said all the free updates will be characters" if you want. We're just going by Tekken's track record with DLC here. If it's free updates and characters, it's pretty sure to be classics (consider he said they don't character for classics) unless you think all those free updates for an entire year won't be characters. That's really the only thing you can argue against in this case.

Yeah I figured that, but if they're only available at Tournaments then I imagine that really puts US players at a disadvantage since they can't practice outside of that.

True but there's a lot of legacy skills that transfer over from previous tekken games which helps with the skill gap. A few weeks with the console version along with thousands of youtube videos and streams of koreans and japanese players already showing all the new/crazy shit should be enough for EVO :)

Completed the story today, was great. Had a quick practice with Master Raven and she seems cool.

Got dragged off to overwatch before I could properly try Akuma.

The only legitimate TTT2 DLC had was the decal system for customizations. The characters and stages you speak of were always on the disc that were time released post launch. So if you are placing your faith on TTT2 then that's not smart either since that game didn't set a precedent for free DLC characters made post launch.

However, if you're thinking Lei/Julia/Anna are already in the disc waiting to be time released like Dr. B, Miharu, Sebastian, etc. from TTT2 then your argument has merit. But if that is the case then PC data miners will find them in no time.

It doesn't matter if you think TTT2's DLC was legit or now because honestly a DLC character is a DLC character regardless of personal opinion. Secondly.

Nope.

Like I said, if you think the "year of extra content" won't be any free characters like TTT2 (even though they've made multiple references to that game's DLC practices), you're free to think that. I'm going to heavily disagree however considering the comments from devs especially considering they're not "holding anything back for DLC" like TTT2 as seen by Murray's comments.

What cordy is saying is that this time around they actually secured a budget for the DLC, and by having season pass revenue coming in they can support future free updates with that money.

I imagine that some of the free stuff is already done, whether on disc or not.

Watching the story on YouTube, everyone speaking their own language just makes me giggle. Wish Namco would have just hired good english voice actors, man Injustice has spoilt us lol. Anyway so far I feel it's not a good replacement for the arcade endings, also felt the same when DOA5 did it.

You should be their PR Coordinator, you're doing a heck of a lot better at calming the masses than they are. lol

I don't think it's wise for people to be expecting free DLC for this game.

All Harada said was that he wouldn't charge for classic characters. He never said anything about giving them away for free like in TTT2. He did talk about them having a DLC budget this time around and being able to support the game for longer, but for all we know that could be in reference to the season pass stuff/paid DLC.

I'm not saying there won't be free DLC just that people shouldn't assume that it'll happen.

Just give us the classic characters and more than 80 percent of the complaints will vanish. ;-)
