Because it would tire him out too quickly, which isn't a good thing when you're having a opponent trying to kill you. Even the battle against Midoriya tired him out, and that was before that final attack.
Also we've seen that Stain was fast enough to dodge Todoroki's ice. Especially with that alleyway, he would have the footing allowing him to escape to the roofs and then come back to the frozen alley.
I think Todoroki's approach of cutting off Stains way, and shoot fire at the changed direction was rather smart.

I kinda want to hear a CG fan's take on 18if episode 7.
If you haven't been watching 18if, almost all the episodes are self-contained past the base premise - people can suffer 'Sleeping Beauty' syndrome(basically entering a comatose state because one is stuck in a dream world) in this world and among them, young girls have the capacity to become 'witches' as a result of holding some intense desire. The dream world a Witch controls has the power to draw others into it(making them victims in turn or even possibly killing them) and in some cases they can even affect reality directly, so it's up to some kid who took 5 levels in Harem Lord and 3 levels in Moral Ambiguity and an older guy who researches these dreams to stop these witches.
There are some episodes where the MC's swag level just seems to answer everything, and then there are some where he's mostly just a guide or even a passive observer for the witch to resolve her feelings on her own(this is the latter). The tone and theme tends to wildly differ from episode to episode. This episode is entirely done in CG, features a different protagonist, and borrows themes from the Wizard of Oz and something called the '5 chinese passions' by the subs, which I wasn't able to successfully Google so maybe there's a more appropriate term.
There's some mildly crazy stuff near the end
and it feels like not all of the ideas introduced in the episode manage to justify their existence or resolve themselves in time(though most do), but I'm hoping someone more skilled at analyzing these takes a look--if not at the story then the production at least, since visually it was a pretty stark departure from the episodes thus far.

Doing that to an alleyway would cause too much damage and chaos. The sizes he does use are big enough and fit the place, also actually killing someone is a big nono for non-licensed heroes or any hero.

If that Akiba Pass Festival doesn't pull out some better stuff until January, I think I'm gonna skip it this year. They should at least get the Godzilla movie.
Though this year was quite weak movie wise, maybe the both Yuasa movies would be neat - despite the BD release this fall.

That actually seems super interesting. I'm surprised firehawk doesn't watch it or something. The art turned me off but that plot description sounds pretty quirky and the screenshots you posted look good.

18if sounds kind of like a low-rent Space Dandy in terms of affording a lot of creative freedom to individual episode directors. I've heard good things about episode 3 in particular, so I've been meaning to check that out sometime.

I might check out Fate if reception is good in Japan. There's also still time to announce better stuff. The Fireworks movie seems likely. Mary and the Witch's Flower would also be cool, but I doubt they could get that.
It wouldn't tire him out cause he would end the fight in an instant. There would be no place or time to escape, especially for a person with ordinary physical capabilities. Besides in a fight with Deku, the volume he pushed out again and again was substantial and would be quite enough, especially after his fire power up.
Todoroki was shown to be able to control his ice down to minimeters (again - the tape guy fight) so he wouldn't have to destroy anything or kill anyone.
I'm sorry for being a pain in the butt and looking for logic in a show about capes and stuff but 1. it's a pretty outrageous, plot driven inconsistency in power abilities to me 2. it's kind of my schtick now that I think about it. Please be excited about my whining on how Deku has superspeed and superpower yet people with no physical enhancement quirks withstand his punches and run circles around him.

Well apparently AnimeFest this weekend has been a complete fiasco. They've had to get the Dallas police department involved to try and handle the autograph lines today and they didn't hire enough. Staffers have been literally overheard screaming in elevators about YoI fans being bitchy. Just absolute mismanagement.

i mean the scale is a lot lower but SMASH! in Sydney this year was pretty great yesterday. not there today though.
i was reminded though that a lot of the SQUEE teenager excitableness of highschoolers which is prevailant in the anime fandom is extremely irritating, especially when a) you're no longer a teenager and b) they're no longer teenagers. i don't necessarily begrudge it, but i'm not into it these days
of course, when i was running a con, our biggest audience issue was unprompted glomping

Some people love it, but around here I think most people, myself included, just think it's okay.
Finished Little Witch Academia.
Good, not great, but definitely an enjoyable cast of characters. It's one I wouldn't mind seeing more of, as it's just something I can watch and enjoy. I would like Trigger to revisit this world eventually.

And yeah the cliche way they took down the missile, I really, really couldn't help but think about the Kid Buu fight in DBZ, lol
It was alright, I enjoyed it well enough.
It has some glaring flaws but is also a landmark title.
I thought it was a lot of fun. Very enjoyable.

Any large enough fandom, especially ones that care a lot about shipping, is going to have some rude folks in it.
In the case of this con, it's less the fans and more the convention itself being poorly managed and ran.
