Darkseid, if it was written correctly Brainiac.

I would have done Brainiac left cyborg out for first justice league and had green lantern in it or cameo.

Brainiac would have a connection with Krypton aka Clark. Would sound have a lot more meaning as you could have brainaic knowing everything about them, where they come from, who they love.

Imagine him making cyborg copies of Jor-el, Thomas wayne, imagine how he could fuck with all of them to try and submit them into a matrix like fake world where they had no clue they were in a computer generated one?

Steppenwolf just sucks period. If your doing parademons then bring Darksied.

Oh. Oh no.

Only read half of it to avoid completely spoiling it but this sounds like the Avengers formula distilled which, oddly enough, is the best chance the movie actually has of being competent.

It's what we should have got for a movie, or at least darksied not Steppen--no one likes me---Wolf.

Do we really need to show the first justice league be about Bruce's vision? It seriously could be just an invasion of Braniac after he senses the last Kryptonian is dead.

Whole beginning of the film could be us watching each character slowly realizing they are in a computer generated world, and nothing is real. That would be cool.

He was presumably chosen to lead into Darkseid for the sequel, though rumor has it that the more explicit Darkseid teases ended up being cut out in reshoots and post-production.

But I'm not really sure why they couldn't have set up Darkseid with a less obscure villain like Brainiac.

I'd imagine dying and coming back to life will give you some life changing perspective. Do you want him to go to jail? In that case Bruce should be facing jail time. He was more of a sociopath than Clark.

I think Steppenwolf was chosen because he has a connection with the larger DCU, but also he is perfectly fine with being wasted

The first movie is mostly about the heroes coming together and need something for them to punch and kick.

The only reason I wouldn't have gone with Wolf is that you do waste using the parademons as well and they are a great enemy for the League to fight.

Though guess could have Darkseid come back with more advanced ones.

...actually, yeah. Having a 2 hour film be nothing but him facing the consequences for his actions and accepting his past logic was terrible would make an excellent film. Would even save the character for me.

Except he didn't really commit to any crime to warrant that. That plot would not hold up. Community service is more appropriate.

Interesting how these plot points kind of confirm the rumors that Wonder Woman isn't the main star of this film. It's definitely going to be the Batman and Aquaman show, feat. Flash.

I'm guessing:

a) they weren't sure if WW would bomb and if audiences would dislike her
b) they didn't want audiences to get overexposed to WW so that the sequel to WW will have more hype
c) they still don't think WW can carry a movie

Agree but still, the videogame did it and it would be too soon
and far better so the comparisons would be fun :p

Brainiac is probably MoS2 if they make one. It should be JL 2 but i think Darkseid is getting reserved for those movies

I dont see the problem Justice League isn't about Wonder Woman alone they are introducing new characters here, she had that awesome introuction on Batman vs Superman

Considering they're gonna Flashpoint the entire thing eventually I'm kinda shocked how formulaic this seems (assuming this is real of course). Would've been a prime opportunity to throw everything on the wall just to see what sticks, but then this is a movie that's the result of DC Whedon-izing a Snyder production.

Brainiac is a Superman villain. Steppenwolf and the rest of the Apokolips squad are mainly JL villains. Granny Goodness is way too early to set up. Maybe Kalibak would have been an interesting choice but they probably wanted a villain they could
kill off.
So who better than Steppenwolf.

Flashpoint isn't confirmed to reboot anything.

The Wonder Woman lasso of truth scene sounded really cute. Overall the story seemed safe but pretty decent which is what DC has to do after BvS. The only thing I'm still worried about is it seems like Ciarán Hinds has almost zero lines/ non cg fighting scenes.

I'll probably see it with moviepass opening weekend if the reviews are solids.

I mean, sure. Maybe I phrased that incorrectly. What I'm saying is that Batman is still the star of this team up film, meanwhile WW has proven herself and is being pushed to the background.

I'm a WW stan. I just wanna see more of her :p I will also wait for the film before passing judgment.

Batman has positioned himself as leader of the team. It's Batman.

Haven't read it but some of my favourite films of all time would sound mediocre/messy on paper. Execution matters a lot.

That said, I won't see this film in cinema unless the reception is good or even great. MoS and BvS burned me (SS and WW were other directors, so they are poor indicators for what to expect here).
