So, decided to actually look them up:

Some of the games they've composed for:
Motoi Sakuraba - Tales of series, Star Ocean, Goldensun, Darksouls
Yuzo Koshiro - Actraiser, Ys, Street of Rage, Sonic 1 (8bit), Shenmue
Masafumi Takada - killer7, No More Heroes and God Hand
Noriyuki Iwadare - Ys III, Ace Attorney 3 (also both Investigations), Grandia, Lunar series
Yasunori Mitsuda - Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Bomberman 64, Xenoblade and arranged Mega Man Legends 2

Just in case anyone else wants to know! Also feel free to correct me if there's any mistakes.

EDIT: @wsippel oh looks like I was too late to post this. Thanks though.

Didn't say "wow" because it's not surprising at all. All the music I've heard so far has been incredibly good.

We need to start shooping Sakurai into all the Nintendo pictures we make.

He's long overdue.

My hype levels are starting to reach a critical mass and just last week I didn't give a damn.

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
If this is fully orchestrated, then that makes the...3rd Nintendo game to do that, right?

The previous two were Star Fox Assault and Kirby's Epic Yarn, iirc.

That's pretty sick. Sakuraba hate be damned, his tracks for this sound great.

edit

Actually I'll backtrack a bit, the black pitt theme is not so good.

Dark Schala

Eloquent Princess
Also... an orchestrally orchestrated 3DS game?

Yes yes yes yes yes mooooooreeeeeeeeee
Eff yes, we need more of this.

Well, it looks like I am picking up Kid Icarus now! Mitsuda alone is enough to get me to buy it.
Koshiro for me. Anything with Koshiro's name attached to it is something I look at.

I'll even try to play certain sections right-handed even though it most likely won't go well for me at all. :|

-cries- THEY'RE TAKING ALL OF MY SYNTHS AWAY~
But but but the samples sound good. And you liked Sonic 4's synth...

(I have nothing against synth. Unless it's Sonic 4's synth because those were some bad synth samples.)

Sakuraba and Mitsuda contributed to Super Smash Bros. Brawl, too.

Okay I've listened to all the samples. Takada and Iwadare's tracks are the best. Really nice melodies. Mitsuda's boss battle theme sounds like something from a racing game, kinda weird. Not that great either. Koshiro's track is pretty good, more dynamic sounds. Sakuraba's tracks are.... a) boring generic main theme, b) faux-western crap, c) Sakimoto military march wannabe. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

you thought Xenoblade was bad too so hey, i'mma gonna trust meself mate

I did? Why are you putting words in my mouth?

there has never been another game in history that has had this many A-list composers. this is madness.

Huh? This is actually pretty common. I can list a bunch of games which had a ton of high profile composers. Even ones with total shit production values in the game itself. :p
