Didn't even beat the first temple. All the hand holding and tutorializing in the beginning of the game totally killed any excitement I had for it. Gave it to my BF literally the next day.
Yeah, same here. Fi was the worst Link babysitter/companion in Zelda history. And that first forest area you go to felt so... I dunno, it just had a bad design. I almost said it felt too game-y, but a lot of Zelda environments feel like that and are fine. I want to give it another shot someday, but my first go with it was pretty not fun.

terms of sheer exploration, Wind Waker best for me. I got wood when you went down to frozen Hyrule near the end of the game
yuuuuup 8====D

It's the only 3D Zelda I really like. The sense of exploration, graphics, fluid controls, and fully controllable camera helped a lot.

luv u

Not feeling BJ?
I've been on Recon for a while so I could actually use all the AA's. I finally got annoyed at not being able to melee well

Take nostalgia and OoT out of the equation, I think Twilight Princess was my favorite. Got more attached to Midna than I ever did Fi or Navi and, waggling aside, loved the sword play and items.
Twilight Princess was awful. Uninspired and ugly characters (save Midna obviously), boring overworld, boring dungeon items, boring and easy dungeons, and the first like 5 hour of it is a tutorial

still 100%'d it, because I'm a masochist like that

I HATE YOU

That video is amazing. Love that shit.

I'm a Majora's Mask kind of guy. Loved ALttP though.

WHAT? Haha, TP to me was like a spiritual successor to OoT with the mood of MM. It was excellent. It's also the last typical Zelda if played on GameCube.

oh my have my babies, heckfu! Ocarina of Time is still my favorite zelda game, but I loved Twilight Princess. And the ball and chain is the best weapon ever introduced into a zelda game imo. So much fun.

EDIT:
Halo 4 actually takes place in one of the Zelda timelines.

This, lol.

Alright, who still needs a specialization code? I guess I'll give it to the first person to reply who's close to being able to use it?

Yeah, I have a feeling I'm never going to get that specialization code. The email address originally tied to that Live account has been lost for years, and nothing has been sent to the current one.

Bummer.

Why is it being sent to OG emails? The fuck is the point of changing them.

I find it weird that 343 put in new armour mods for those who finish a specialisation, thus giving an advantage to players who have played the game more, yet removed standard weapon locations and timers due to giving an advantage to people who have played longer.

Logic = flawless.

Also, from the Bungie update: We weren't quite ready, but we will be soon, and we can’t wait to finally show you what we've really been up to." That and the ODST picture with the Destiny poster makes me wonder how much of the team was actually working on Reach and that may explain why some things were a little...lackluster.

Seriously though, you have an overworld with no fun sidequests (collect the gold bugs!), dungeon items that are basically useless outside of their respective dungeons, and there was no challenge to the game at all. Combine that with Nintendo ruining Zant at the end and you get a disappointment of a Zelda game.

I don't know that's even the issue. Microsoft emails are always flaky for me, and I have no idea why. No spam filters set up, just stock-ass gmail. Even those Xbox newsletters they send out stopped coming a while ago.

I was mostly put off by all the fanboyism and hype for TP. For me it's a three way tie between ALTTP, MM and Wind Waker. (OoT is on a whole tier of importance to itself)

On topic... I need to start using the DMR all the time.

I haven't gotten shit either.

...that's bullshit

I have a code for someone since I'm not even going to get to 50 for quite some time. Possibly never.

You'll have to jump through hoops for it though! (Evil Laughter)

Why don't 343i just unlock the specialisations for everyone? Surely that would just be easier to do.

I don't understand the point of just unlocking it for people who played before the 20th... and via email if that. I'm pretty sure that anyone who was on the fence about buying the game beforehand didn't suddenly buy it because of specialisation access. Seems pointless.

It isn't. I spent something like 50 hours doing every single little thing and it wasn't nearly as fun as every other zelda game I've played. The atmosphere of the overworld was flat out dead. When you compare it to the towns and areas of OOT or MM or WW there's no comparison

Why the shit did they have to call it a GIFT. I thought it might be like 150 microsoft points or some crap, so I redeemed it not knowing that it was specializations I already had from the limited edition. Now I cant give it to a gaffer... -_-

Played a bit of Halo 4 this weekend, first time in two weeks. It'll be at least that long until I go back. I'm this close to handing out my map pass code and seeing what I can get for the game in store credit.

Flinch. The goddamn flinch mechanic. I will never, ever understand.

Yeah, played with 2 friends tonight in the exact same boat. What a fucking mess. I'll be disappointed if 343 doesn't address it to be honest, and I'm not one to seriously complain about things. But this whole Specialization thing has been terrible.

Bro, I flinched IRL every time I got knocked out of scope in the previous games, it was that jarring. This makes for a much more consistent experience, I just had to adapt a little.
