at last, for christ's sake
Wow, I didn't know there were still rabid Pokemon fans. People are getting super hyped for a game and starter Pokemon they've seen for only a few seconds. Lol

Still hope it's a good game though.

I'm having a hard time trying to remember a time in which there was no buzz about a Pokemon game..

same can't be said about certain other failed mascots like Sonic

Yeah, I think it's safe to say the stag is the X legendary and the bird is the Y legendary. The X logo has antlers and the Y logo has the fingers on the bird's wing-tip. Speaking of which, it'd be nice if they finally stylized the "Pokemon" logo and subtitle in the Western release. Getting tired of the blue-and-yellow tripe.

Also, Chespin's "hoodie" is another bid for the Scrafty demographic, I.E. cute and cool.

Didn't expect a Worldwide launch on the same month. Other than that, I'll be there day one. I think I'll choose Froakie as my starter.

It's awful. Please kill it.

So if the part where the character was looking in the mirror was an allusion to being able to customize your character(this is just speculation, DON'T HYPER BEAM ME TO DEATH!) then I think that would be cool, of course the clothing would all be cosmetic and not have stat boosting attributes.

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but another + about the new Eeveelution...the big statue we see in the trailer's holding an Eevee on his shoulder.

Froakie reminds me of the Dokongo Gaeru anime.

And now I NEED a Froakie t-shirt.

Fun fact, there was actually a Pokemon episode that had a parody of this...with the dude being a Croagunk trainer.

It actually got in trouble, legal-wise, and they had to edit all future airings of it (including the Dub Version, which aired before the episode was released edited in Japan) to change the look of the trainer.

Here's pictures of it too.

Also I'm still scratching my head.

How is "using letters" running out of ideas? Are they dense that they don't know that only the metal and gems names lack "meaning"? All of the colors are important to the theme of the game, as well as X and Y.

Also to be quite honest some of the legendaries are really more like "once encounter" Pokemons.

from my point of view, the less legandaries/once encounter pkmn, the more actual good pokèmon you can choose for your team..pokèmon you can evolve, breed, train from the beginning, instead of get a lv 40/70 beast that doesn't need train and that you feel guilty to use because it's overpowered, they are basically trphies, more than actual pkmn, you capture them, and you put them on the archive ad forgot about them.
plus most of the time those pkmn are banned from multiplayer, and for good reasons

Fennekin

This fire fox Pokemon can not hear for shit because of all the hair in its ear.
Maybe each starter is a dual type including one balancing disability, ie Fennekin = fire/deaf, Froakie = water/depression, and Chespin = grass/absolutely nuts

I really hope they revamp the 1 system that needs revamping.

Catching Pokemon. Catching legendaries has always been terrible. Stun them false swipe until weak, spend next hr throwing ultra balls.
Really? For me it's more like:

Get them in the red.
Dusk Ball.
Dusk Ball.
Dusk Ball.

Now the million dollar question becomes: "Can I transfer my DS pokemon to the games? And if so, can I do it drag/drop style instead of having to recapture them 6 at a time after playing a tedious mini game"

You have a small chance of getting a 100% capture rate every time you use a Pokéball.

It's not technically 100%, but it might as well be. The chance increases depending on how many Pokemon are "owned" in the Pokedex.

In my perfect world, there's an app that lets you copy directly from the boxes in the DS games to the SD card, then transfer to boxes on the 3DS cartridge.

Judging by this picture, it's possibly save to say that X/Y will have a more traditional overworld system similar to the old Dragon Quests or the Tales series? In contrast to the cities or the forest field, the proportions are completely off in this one. A giant character in a small world.

The new starters look terrible.
A bit better then Black and White at least.

I might get back into Pokemon if this turns out well.

Saw the trailer! Looks absolutely lovely. It looks like those Pokemon are from the 3DS Pokedex app? If so that's great because I loved how they looked there.

Wonder how the worldwide release will pan out. They said that about BW2 as well and while it wasn't a long wait, it wasn't simultaneous like they originally targeted.

so? just making a comment, it wont derail anything

I was joking because tyou were seeing a bunch of people you don't recognize as being a part of PokeGAF, because this is the Gaming OT and no one knows where the PokeGAF Community thread is :p

I asked a question once in PokeGAF Community and got ignored :(

Oh God, I woke up to this and nearly fell out my chair.

Screw the haters, this looks AWESOME. It's what I've always imagined a 3D handheld Pokemon game could and should be. And contrary to what some people are saying, I think the battle animations and art are a perfect evolution from the 2D games. It's about as close to the 2D action it can get while still remaining 3D. And I love that Frog starter, he's my go-to this game.

That said, I have two things I PRAY they fix from Gen V;

1. We need Evolutions from prior Pokemon, I hated that about Black and White. One of my favorite things about new Pokemon games is seeing what evolutions they bring for old Pokemon. Seriously, we need a Heracross evo this gen.

2. ALL Starters need secondary types. The fact that only one of the Gen V starters had a secondary type really made the selection kinda lame for starters. And dear God, no more Fire/Fighting for the Fire starter, original typings for the starters goes a long way for making them unique and memorable.

If they fix those small gripes, This could easily be one of the best if they do it right.
