Time isn't free, either, and I have a suspicion that the PA guys (and the guests they want to bring on the podcasts) are busy people. That time needs to be paid for, because it's compensation for them not being able to do other things that could be making them money.

Bringing it into terms I can relate to more easily, am I allowed to start a Kickstarter so I can do more comics? I mean, I have a day job and a car, so maybe that makes me too established?

What will you be using them for?

I prefer in-ears for wearing outside since they typically block outside noise better than headphones, plus they should be easier to run with. Portable closed models are fine for use outside too though. I wouldn't get anything open though as you'll need to turn up the volume which could damage your hearing and people nearby can hear it.

That is almost expecting to be paid twice. Of course time is not free, but they really want their time while making this to be paid for up front? That is a ridiculous case of wanting to have your cake and eat it too. They get paid when people buy their product, same as any other content creator. If you want a wage, you can come do my job for a while :) Unless you think everyone should earn a wage while they are starting a new business as well? Just because? Ask a restaurant owner how much they earn before the restaurant opens.

Theory: This could be a great way to launder money. Create a tiny little KS for something lame, low amount of money required, provide some stupidly massive tiers that no-one would dream of taking up and bam. More cash, Robbo.


(No, I haven't thought this through at all, but the idea amuses me.)

I was just listening to the bombcast and they covered this. Create fake kickstarters, put in your drug money, KS takes their cut and you get clean amazon money!

Also holy crap I didn't know KS gets the cut up front....

Star Trek into darkness was a lot of fun. I wont say great but very good. Maybe even better than star Trek 2009. Apart from one or two cheesy callbacks and bromance, it worked. YMMV.

Also, Boris. He used to have Agro before that monkey. He fell in that moat in that castle in the titles. They reversed the tape or something didnt they? I think that castle was up near nambour wasnt it? Whats a cheez tv?

Using webcam girls is becoming an increasingly popular way to launder money. These are free webcam sites where you collectively use tip tokens with others to get the models to do things. Take illegally gained money, tip girl, website takes 30%. Profit.

I'd love to vote for Boris, but I think I was still in kindy when it went off air, and I'm one of the older people in AusGAF. I can't remember much about the show beyond his outfit...

ABC Kids. Pretty sure ABC had the Nickolodeon stuff like Rocko's Modern Life and Rugrats. They also had the Animals from Farthing Wood. ABC wins.

I've yet to find a pair that lasts for more than 2 years. The ones that just broke were an outlier, they've been solid for 3... wrecked now though :<

I gave it 10/10 for Benedict Cumberbatch. -7/10 for the script.

So, 3/10 for Not Star Trek. You enjoyed gold class, not the movie.

i give it 8/10.

Star Trek is an action franchise these days. And a pretty decent one compared to that fast and the furious 6 and world war z trailers before hand.

Far better than the tired cheap movies we were getting like Nemesis.

Wow, if there's one thing that'll nail home my situation (separated from wife last Sunday, moved out of the family home of 12 years) it's a rental application form. And the implicit proving of my personal worth in the various questions those applications ask these days (seriously, I could swear they were half the length 14 years ago...)
