This weekend, there were two alt-right rallies planned for the San Francisco bay area. One today in Crissy Park, and another tomorrow in Berkeley. Both have been cancelled. The Crissy Field rally downgraded itself to a news conference at Alamo Square Park. However,

LA Times said:
Hundreds of counter-protesters, anti-fascists and members of the Democratic Socialists of America seemed to have completely overtaken the area around Alamo Square Park on Saturday, where the Patriot Prayer group was supposed to stage a news conference in place of a canceled rally at Crissy Field Beach, a few miles away.

City officials had announced earlier that Alamo Square would be closed, and barriers were erected around the park.

"This is a victory rally!" one activist told the crowd over a microphone. "This is a victory over white supremacy."

Many in attendance said they felt moved to march despite the cancellation of the rally and the news conference. They wanted to send a clear message that far-right groups, including white supremacists and Nazis, would not be tolerated in San Francisco, they said.

Though the Boston-style turnout of counter-protesters isn't the only reason why the far right cancelled their rallies, but also because the city took away their tools for violence and recruitment

KQED said:
In Limiting Weapons, Officials Cut Fringe-Right Media Production Options

The threat of violence at these rallies – and in the days afterward — is real, and city officials have urged counterprotesters to stay away.

And under the guise of public safety, officials have quietly taken away the tools that make creating on-the-scene media easy for the fringe right. Media production is an essential component for their recruitment drives since it gives white supremacists and others the ability to portray themselves as a besieged, righteous movement fighting against liberals and the mainstream media. These videos are a key motivator in attending these chaotic rallies, and often fuel conspiracy theories used to deflect from criticism of violence.

Indeed, organizers of both Bay Area rallies said they chose the locations because of the powerful backdrops they provide.

“It’s beautiful, obviously,” said Patriot Prayer organizer Gibson.

While officials couldn’t stop these political actors from using their sets of choice, they have seriously curtailed their ability to record and livestream the action. In San Francisco, for example, selfie sticks, camera helmets, drones, tripods and large bags that often hold over-the-shoulder cameras would not be allowed in the demonstration area.

San Francisco officials negotiated with the National Park Service to ban these items. Mayor Lee said it was solely related to public safety.

“We insisted on the highest levels of public safety,” Lee said. “And these things were used as weapons [at other rallies].”

Yet, a real-world side consequence is that the fringe right won’t be able to livestream their event and have both hands free to fight. San Francisco Board of Supervisors President London Breed said if the banned items mean it’s harder for the fringe right to broadcast themselves, then so be it.

“These images continue to tear our country apart,” Breed said. “They want all eyes on them, which is why they’re doing what they’re doing.”

The coward fuckboys are still holding press conferences in a unsecured park. Without permits. Last I heard from the total cucks holding the sanfran hate rally of man boys.

Not sure about the Berkley twats. But likely the same thing.

Marks.

According to the liberal NPR. The city was deciding on whether or not to let them even hold that. Since security was part of the permits.

Now the counter protesters are just partying and having a good time.

Is it counter-protesting if the protesters they're countering were too scared to show up? 🤔🤔🤔

Nah but seriously, good on them.

The weird thing is that they're not scared of violence - they're scared of normal people finding out what they do anonymously on forums. It all sounded so exciting and Teutonic when it was all memes and agreeing with each other.

But finding out that you're just a puerile little fuckboy in real life whose job and real world reputation are endangered, probably isn't as thrilling.

I had dinner at a really nice restaurant called Saratoga in SF a few weeks back (same time as Charlottesville). I was sitting at a table next to two Trump supporters who cheered to Trump and were talking about nazi-ism.

It was really bewildering to witness in this town which liberals and progressiveness are one of its defining features.

But I thought they were the "Master Race"? Scared away so easily?

I'm out here hitting the gym everyday and striving in my career to be a black Adonis and these chinless fuckbois truly think they have superior genes and deserve the world.

They better start investing in VR tech since their hole in the internet will be the only place they will feel welcomed.

This. They want to be weekend Nazis but they are slowly realizing that now they are everyday Nazis and they get all the consequences that come with it.

Reminds me of the three losers at Charlottesville who quickly took off their racists T-shirts and said something to the effect of "its just a prank, bro!" when they realized they were being filmed.
