Can someone please translate the sign with the kanji?

It's chinese, it's bit tough figuring out the characters but I think it says something like "when the waves get high(rough?), unity is power!"

Here is it written out with an X for the character I can't seem to figure out, some of the first sentence might be wrong also: "潮X般交高 团结是力量!"

I almost feel pity for those 20 suckers

Is Satan for or against white supremacy 🤔
For the people confused about these witches...
On Halloween in 1968, Women's International Terrorist Conspiracy from Hell (W.I.T.C.H.) was born in New York. Dressed as witches, complete with brooms, capes and pointy black hats, chanting "Wall Street, Wall Street, up against the Wall Street," the group descended on the financial heartland of the United States to administer a hexing. A day later, the stock market reportedly fell 13 points.

Well, The Devil has historically been portrayed as whatever image goes against the established power, so if we're going by the sheer number of years that racism and slavery was state-approved it'd probably be against. The same goes for misogyny, which is why witches are typically female as they were seen as invoking Satan to grant them power that goes against God's order - "Live deliciously" and all that.

Yes, I'm saying The Literal Devil is above Nazis.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if it was Japanese or Chinese so I guessed lol

It's something like "a rising tide will push the ship to higher places; unity is our strength." Though I'm sure there is a more elegant way to translate it.

thank you as well!

Its another area where Twitter fails. They allow people with verified marks to spread complete bullshit. verified status should also come with a pretty easy to understand clause that you are not going to be a shit stirrer with fake imagery/news etc. and if you do as a verified user your account is gone

James Woods was doing the same thing using images from England claiming it was Boston today

Nope. That's not even close to what the blue check represents. If you want to spread fake shit, your reputation gets hit. That simple.

Is it weird to feel bad for Pepe? It feels like so long ago that he was just the "Feels Good Man" meme. Then they had to make him not feel good. Then he had to be smug. Now he's a symbol for the alt-right.

I feel bad for the guy who drew him. It must suck to have a character you've made get co-opted by a hate group.

Sure, that sucks -- but there are more important issues we're dealing with than the misappropriation of a cartoon character by Nazis.

Like, you know, the Nazis.

It's the truth as all have now witnessed the evangelical board who failed the faithful by failing to condemn tinkle-trump, while big business brought him to his knees..

if you think any business would give a shit if it hadn't been for the tremendous public outcry and leftist counter-protests i don't even know what to say.

both of those groups are simply following their base. CEOs have to sell to everyone, american evangelicals are still very supportive of trump.

I can't agree with you on this regarding business. I agree about the religious right. It is very disappointing to see this much hypocrisy coming from the evangelical base, but maybe not surprising giving their recent history.

This is true(To an extent, I'd imagine the CEOs are happier when morality aligns with their interest than when it doesn't), but it's also true that government enterprises do not have morals beyond what is necessary to maximize votes(again, to an extent). Parsing that type of thing is pointless. When somebody does something right it should be encouraged so they do the right thing more often, even if it is for personal benefit.

the original quote implies we should be thankful to businesses for quitting a meaningless symbolic committee. it literally makes no difference at all, they'll still support and pay for trump's agenda, and they only did it in the first place because the public would turn on them if they didn't.

feedback for this kind of action is pointless. the companies on that council are enemies to leftist policies just as much as trump himself is.

Artist should just get Soros to publically fund his comic strip and publicize it. Then, thank the alt right for all the exposure their pepe usage has garnered for him. Boom, pepe abandoned.

Same thing happened in Vancouver yesterday but didn't any attention here in the States.

CTV News | Thousands join anti-racist demonstration at Vancouver City Hall
Thousands of people came out to Vancouver City Hall Saturday afternoon in support of an anti-racist demonstration countering a previously planned rally against immigration.

Organizers of the original rally billed it as a protest of immigration, Islam and Justin Trudeau's policies on multiculturalism. Many Metro Vancouverites and politicians, however, condemned the planned rally as an overt display of racism and white supremacy.
Vancouver police estimate close to 4,000 people were at City Hall Saturday afternoon and described the atmosphere is ”friendly."
Sgt. Jason Robillard confirmed officers made five arrests for Breach of the Peace during the demonstration, and escorted another two people out of the rally to prevent disturbances.
Officers led away a man wielding a knife who had his face covered. They also escorted a man doing a Nazi salute away from the crowd.
CTV reporters also witnessed a counter-demonstrator ripping a man's anti-immigration sign. The man who ripped the sign was led away by police.
The original rally involved a couple dozen people vocally opposing multiculturalism and immigration.

The counter-demonstration in support of immigration and diversity appears to have dwarfed the original rally, which only had 28 people listed as going on its Facebook page.

Coincidentally, it was the same thing with the Swastika.

A symbol of peace, but the Nazis twisted it and made it theirs.

I'm trying fathom how it must feel to go out and be racist only to find you'll be greeted by four thousand people letting you know how abhorrent your opinions are.

I've read that the original context the Nazis stole it from was a symbol of consecration which the ancient Germanic peoples marked gravesites with, among other things, as a representation of "Thor's hammer." I always feel bad thinking about how a symbol providing comfort and peace to the loved ones of a departed friend or family member could be dug up and twisted by their descendants to inspire hatred and fear... To serve an ideology entirely counter to what those original peoples believed.

The article in question is here btw. It's been a while since I dove into the topic but this guy's stuff always seemed well-researched and intentioned.
