Those taxis can very easily be mistaken for real. The car looks a bit too shiny to be real and the trees are clearly not real.

The taxis and road = drool

I'm gonna go get a retail version of the PC version tomorrow... hopefully it's not too hard to find!

Can you get the "complete" version on PC easily enough?

Gawd... buying retail... in Australia... it might just not be worth it. Though, it might just. We'll see.

Actually, I'll check EB's website for price because they've got a good sale going on at the moment - here's hoping!

So the upgraded texture mod and this mod is pretty much all that's required they hey?

which texture pack did you end up picking? I wish there was a better site/link for the Ultimate Textures, the site it's being hosted on is slow as hell

Alright, what would it take to get this all up and running with the Steam version of GTAIV?

What do I need to download to make this happen? I'm definitely interested in trying it.

Last time I messed with mods I had issues relating to the latest patches not supporting the mods properly. I'd love to try this graphics mod and give the first person mod another shot.

Hm just realized that using xliveless means i can't access the DLC.
Gonna have to wait for iCEnhancer 1.2.5 i guess :(

Think you still need Xliveless in 1.2.5 because without it, mods are blocked.

RealityIV and Exaggerated Blood seem to work fine

They don't work like the ENB mod, they change engine settings, use new directX .dlls and shaders, Live won't allow that.

Went out and bought a retail copy today :) Gonna be so nice to try out this mod.

What I understand there is more than just installing the game, patching it to 1.04, install texture pack and there after install icenhancer?

Is there a way to get AA without supersampel it to insane res and then downsample it to 1080p, because thats is very demanding for the GFX. And also is there a way to look the framerate to 30fps? Dont think i can get a steady 60fps with following setup

Intel i5-2500K OC 4.5Ghz
Radeon 6970 2Gb card OC
8 GB of memory

EDIT: Ohh and is there a mod to get the camera fixed behind the car and not to the right as it is now. Hate that :)

Remember to install Xliveless, else the game will just look bright and washed out.

So did anyone manage to get AA to work? When trying to enable it in the ini it keeps giving me some very blurry image.

Seriously though holy crap.

Nah I was pretty impressed with it too when I noticed it.

So what patch version of GTA IV is this compatible with?

Also, which GTA IV patch improved the shitty performance it had at launch. I am thinking about getting this game (Radeon HD 5850 + 3.2GHz AMD Phenom II X4) but want it to run well.

Is there any easy to follow guide for installing this mod out there? Seems like GTAIV modding can get pretty complicated.

Ok thanks alot for the info. Also do you have to download d3dx9_26.dll d3dx9_40.dll and config GTA4 0.077a from http://enbdev.com/download_en.htm or does it just work to copy over icenhancer to GTA4 document?

The next question how do you install these great looking cars and what car packages do you guys recommend?

Here's a quick guide, quote it for people, now the questions are getting out of hand :p

Get the retail version.

Install patch 1.0.4.0:
http://www.gamefront.com/files/13914788/Grand-Theft-Auto-IV-PC-Patch-v.-1.0.4.0/

Download Xliveless:

http://public.sannybuilder.com/GTA4/xliveless-0.999b7.rar
http://rapidshare.com/files/392993489/xliveless-0.999b7.rar

Place only the "Xlive.dll" in your root GTA IV folder, where the .exe is placed.

Download iCEhanced 1.2:

http://www.gta4-mods.com/misc/icenhancer-12---enb-graphic-mod-f9236

Keep the folder structure and copy them into your root folder and just replace any files when it asks. ( Remember to back up if you want to restore )

Open the newly copied "iceconfig" and find the [TREE] section. Replace the numbers below with the following;

[TREE]
LeavesReflectionAmount=0.0
LeavesSpecularPower=0.0
LeavesAmbientAmount=0.95
LeavesColorMultiplier=1.0
LeavesColorPow=1.8
LeavesColorFilterR=1.0
LeavesColorFilterG=1.0
LeavesColorFilterB=1.2

It gives you some better looking trees, the default are overly green and very ugly.

Now you can, alternatively, download a texture mod of your desire. I suggest "Better City Textures" that clock in at over 7GB unpacked.

http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=5906

Another Copy & Paste job, copy over to the root folder, keep the structure and replace when it asks ( Remember to back up ).

Start the game, enjoy. That's the basics. Plenty of more modding to do, cars, in-game trainers, skins etc. but you can toy around with that yourself.

It works poorly on any other versions than 1.0.4.0 and Steam auto-updates. People claim to be able to downgrade Steam versions but nobody seems to have done it. You can get it to 'work' but because of the shaders in the newer patches, effects will be broken, performance even worse etc.

iCEnhancer 1.2.5 claims to have 1.0.7.0 compatibility but I think people are overestimating. Mod is still based off ENB as far as I know and I believe he just took the effects that worked and made them work with 1.0.7.0, think it'll still miss a thing or two.

Yeah looks awesome like that. I haven't even bothered searching yet but is there a mod so you can play it top down like that anywhere?

Will try that. They really do stick out and manage to destroy the overall look at times.

Looks like I'll be off to find a retail copy of GTA IV sometime this week.

Here are my specs, for those who have this mod, how will I run?

CPU 2.5Ghz Quad AMD
GPU: 1GB ATI 5850
RAM: 4GB

As of now, I can play GTA IV at mostly high settings, 1600X900 res.

Nice. Thanks for making it easy for people.

Do we know the settings used for the picture (photoreal one) that I posted above?

Yeah, that's an ENB setting by someone called Dpeasant, not released yet. ( Only his previous version which doesn't even look half as good and it runs like complete shit )

That figures. The greater clarity and lack of bluriness is what I also get with straight ENB.

Ok, not a huge fan of the better city textures pack. My framerate gets destroyed.

I think I'm going to uninstall the game for now until Icenhancer 1.2.5 comes out. Got the Ultimate Vehicles Pack to work...if I update to 1.0.7.0 but got the weird glitch where it was taxis + cop cars + BMW X5s only lol.

So are they still working on a new version that might work with the Steam version? It kinda surprises me that Rockstar still patches the game.

Man I'm staring at these pictures and I just can't figure out how the modder did this. Is there a GTA SDK or something? Or did he just write a new renderer for the game?

Yeah read about it but I didn't want to have cars only, without the enb settings since they didn't exactly work in .7.0 lol; I'll just wait for enhancer 1.2.5 so it'll work on the latest patch + vehicle pack.

Cool. By the way for the Steam users, here is the version of ENB that is most compatible with 1.0.7.0: http://www.mediafire.com/?at8yf03s0srcwi1

It's no Icenhancer, but it should hold you over until 1.25 hits.

question: can you use the ultimate graphics tweak with icenhancer?

its this thing here http://www.fileplanet.com/209623/200000/fileinfo/Grand-Theft-Auto-4---Ultimate-Graphics-Tweak

it says it is a little modification which allow you to enable improved post processing effects like Motion Blur and Depth Of Field.
It also smoothens dotted shadows and jaggy edges while keeping whole game sharp and clean. As a result game feels like a movie, and is
visibly smoother even at low frame rates (15-25FPS). This version adds Depth Of Field, Motion Blur, Smooth Shadows
