Joke legendary weapons are fine, and certainly can be end game worthy if they stand out well.

I adore the Quip for it being a really silly party gun, and through I have no desire to make it (or really any other legendary thing IDK), the new quaggan is pretty wonderful in its own ways.

As Spiritfox said, let ANet have some fun lol (and plus add some more variety among these weapons), and go with the Flameseeker if something more serious is what you desire. Same with pistol, mace, and shortbow for now too.

Joke skins are fine but why make them Legendary? It's ridiculous that a stupid skin like Quip was the only choice for 3 years. At least me a proper one as well released simultaneously.

The story missions weren't great but I like the new map better than I did either of the other two. I may just be impressed by that lovely winter forest area but gosh that is a lovely winter forest area.
Quaggan voices have become really irritating though and this is in a map full of chatty kodan & grawl.

I still can't get over the fact that a quaggan wanted to do a one-night stand with me.

My main raid group beaten Spirit Vale at long last, and were able to get Undefeated done too, so finally got the title. Felt really good, even after beating Sabetha a couple times already with another group.

It took less time for the group to get her done than Gorseval, so that was great, after really struggling with that boss for a while.

I stopped in to check on you guys and no one was on lol. Did the guild die off? Was going to give away a bunch of stuff I had saved up as well

You can give the m to me if you want ;D It's a bit sad seeing the guild with so few people on, but I do understand it. I'm still logging in everyday, but haven't really had time to play much more than that (even if I'm planning to).

The guy who leaked Eureka and the Tower of Nightmare Fractal is probably also right on the expansion #2. This is the most credible leak so far: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/55phil/lets_talk_about_the_leaked_new_elite/ < He was right about the Mace and ToN months before we knew about them.

Elite Specs:

  • Warrior: "Spellbreaker" - Dagger/Dagger
  • Mesmer: "Mirage" - Mainhand Axe
  • Guardian: "Purifier" - Mainhand Axe
  • Necro: "Scourge" - Torch + "Sand Shroud"
  • Elementalist: Either Sword or Greatsword
  • Ranger: Probably Dagger Mainhand
  • Thief: Probably Rifle
  • Revenant: No Info
  • Engineer: No Info

And really when you look at it, it looks realistic. They are not going to add new weapon types or new races. It's too much work, too much animation. 6 months to make a single suit of armor. It's not going to happen.

All of these sound decent. Mesmer and Guardian going Axe seems plausible since Axe is one of those underused weapons. Thief being a sniper has been requested forever. Ranger, Ele, Necro seems fine. It doesn't strike me as unbeliveable at all.
The one that irrs my eye is the idea of Warrior going Dagger/Dagger "Spellbreaker". This is one of those suggestions you see in forum posts but is hard to imagine. Warriors are masters of all physical weapons, so it was between this and staff. What is weird about it is that Dagger/Dagger would be the first time an Elite Spec got both a main and a off-hand. On the other hand, Warriors have always gotten a lot of love and they are one of the most diverse professions in ways you can play.
Spellbreaker sounds like a anti-light armor specialist which is a strange concept. it seems weird to have heavy armor profession with Daggers. I'd hope that thematically that as a spellbreaker the warrior would play, look and feel very different, because it doesnt fit a heavy armored character walking around with small daggers.

As for the expansion: It's not as GW2: Papaya. 20 Dollars price tag. Supposed to be rolled out faster.

Expansion setting and story
Nothing big on story. We fight Kralkatorrik and Primordus at the same time in the Crystal Desert and parts of Elona. Palawa Joko is a villain as well.
There are some Vabbi and Desolation maps that look cool. Amnoon Oasis as well. Talks of a "Torment" map, but probably got cancelled.
Rest of Elona will come with Season 4.
No Tengu.

/ Makes sense. We kill Jormag in Living World Season 3.
Elona opens up fully in Season 4. Makes sense.

I don't think so. My guess would be 6 months after season 3 finishes. I think thats the most optimistic probability^_^
Well, if they said it will rolll out faster it might mean we'll have to wait less after the end of the LS3.
By the way, since I'm still behind on it, do you guys have any clue on how many more episodes there might be? As in, we're halfway there, we've just started, we're approaching the end.

I wish they'd have those that uses offhand only for mainhand

like, imagine an engineer spec that shoots lasers from the shield for a default autoattack!

also from memory... scepter is the only mainhand that hasn't been slotted as an offhand right?

On one hand I'd say I highly doubt we'll kill an elder dragon in Living Story, those are solely for expansions but on the other, it would take YEARS to kill them all in that format. NCSoft will probably want Guild Wars 3 before the time frame it would take for enough expansions to kill off all the dragons. Although I suspected that's why they are trying to throw two dragons at us at once, one expansion could kill off two dragons and that would really speed the process up. It makes sense from a story perspective too to divide up units to take them out around the same time frame based on how the transference of power works.

Amnoon Oasis. Makes sense. They already have tons of art assets from Dry Top and Silverwaste. Besides going Desert is quite the opposite theme of Jungle.

Secondly, Maguuma was dense and vertical. Let's face it, there actually was a lot of gameplay in the 4 HoT maps. They were compact. We'll have to see if this means that the zones will be massive in Expansion #2. But we know the deal- you risk having more spaces with fewer places, but then again- a desert is supposed to be desolate. If they take inspiration from games like Journey they could make some beautiful large areas.

I think they want to raise the stakes with living story. Also because the elder dragons just seem to be dormant when we're not focused on the one we're focused on. No elder dragons make a peep when we're fighting zhaitan, no elder dragons make a peep when we're fighting mordremoth. So what is happening is that the dragons become tools of convenience just to be beaten, and I think ArenaNet knows that the dragons have become this one trick pony.
In the original reveal trailer from 2010, the elder dragons were explained as natural disasters. Sort of like the Kyuubi from Naruto. They were so large that they'd create floods, earthquakes, climate change, tsunamis by simply moving across terrain inhabited by sentient beings.
ArenaNet has completely failed to deliver dragon antagonists that live up to that, but on the other hand, they've done something else.

Modremoth popped out of the blue as a interim dragon, and they introduced a great Shounen-´power concept. Every dead dragons transfer its power onto the next. Jormags minions now have the power of death (Zhaitan) and Nature (Mordremoth). So every dragon from here on out will be way more impossible to kill.

Here is what think will be the time frame:

1. January 2017; they announce Expansion 2, exactly 2 years after HoT was announced; Primordus and Kralkatorrik are the main dragons. Aurene will probably be key in fighting them.

2. Living World Seasons 3 ends in Q2-Q3 with the death of a dragon (Jormag?)

3. Expansion 2 is released in October 2017, 2 years after HoT was released. We defeat Primordus and Kralkatorrik

4. Living World Season 4 begins july-august 2018. It unlocks the remaining parts of Elona not covered in the expansion and sets up the fight with the mysterious Bubbles (Deep Sea Dragon).

5. Expansion 3 is announced in January 2019, pitting the final fight against the last elder dragon who has all the magic afinity of the other dragons. It takes place in Cantha and marks the last major expansion of GW2.

6. Living World Season 4 ends in Q2-Q3 2019 setting up the third expansion.

7. Expansion 3 is released in October 2019 and marks the final conclusion to GW2s story.

8. A smaller series of living story updates will follow in 2020 and beyond but it wll be to set up a Guild Wars 3, that is many years away. It took 5 years between Eye of the North and GW2s release. I wouldn't expect to wait that long for GW3 because the gem store is a revenue cash shop, but I think after Bubbles is taken care off, the live staff will be a lot smaller as most of Anet focus on a new big main project.
By the time we reach expansion 3, GW2 will be more than 7 years old.

If 2 expansions are coming it means that 2x 9 elite specs; 18 elite specializations. I'm feeling more and more confident that polearms, new races and new weapon types are not coming. When you weigh it up I think they want to fill out Tyria, deal with the dragons and give us as much content as possible. And I am okay with that.

Instead what I'd like to see added in new living world and expansion releases:

  • What I would like to see is them upping their armor game. I'd like to see new and old maps have Silverwaste-style armor skins to collect in flashy and non flashy versions- The Luminescent armors take a lot of time to collect and I've gotten a lot of milage out of Silverwaste. I'm glad that it's still popular to this day.
More map specific unique back pieces/helmets/gloves would go a long way. If you would have incentive to spend dozens and dozens of hours in maps you rarely go to like Straits of Devastation.
  • More skins to collect from world bosses all over the world- I think lvl 80 style metas- long term goals should be added to each map. I could imagine map specific currencies from new and old maps being key in making gifts for new legendaries. Just really go to town- Adding new world bosses to a lot of the old maps. So you really get long term community squads that run the same maps. Many lvl 25-65 maps could really use some of that.
  • Better graphics and optimization - I don't know if we're ever getting DX11. I'd hope so. I'd hope it would come with new processing effects. I'd like to see longer draw distances, new water physics, I'd like to see different seasons for all the spvp maps. An added layer to GW2. A sort of makeover adding on top of the great art. new fog/fire/rain/particle/dust effects. Model updates to pets, trees, grass, foliage and such would be great.
  • Server improvements- Having a new soft cap of 250 players over 200 would be nice. Particularly if future world bosses and meta events added on to new and old maps get more into the territory of splitting up the zergs into multiple groups. Dragons Stand is a great map. It might be the most well realized map ever in Guild Wars 2 in terms of what a public raid can be when 200 players are working together.
If they can take that infrastructure but also combine it in a map that has a certain segment of smaller players running normal non meta events, i'd be great.
  • Game needs new guild missions, spvp maps, jumping puzzles, and many higher tiers of achievement. Just more content that extrapolates on the current systems.

I would be pleasantly surprised if they announce another expansion next month but your overall predictions aren't at all outside the realm of possibility. They know all their GW1 fans are clamoring to return to the other regions from that game, especially Elona. It would be rad to have a tough as nails Torment area. I remember it being a real pain in the ass until I configured the right type of hero builds in the first game.

Hi! I'd like to join the guild if you guys are still having people. I'm mastery level 176 & full asc on all toons; my account name is yiwll.8510

I've been playing the free base game for a few days now and I really like it. I've been struggling with the default keyboard layout tho, and I don't know how I should rebind it. Any suggestion?

(Is Hawkian's gamepad profile up to date? I may try it out if I can't seem to get used to playing with kb/m)

Also, if the GAF Guild is still active (hopefully), I'd like to join it. Thanks.

New, weapons what do you guys think? I like the aesthetics but I think green gems looks tacky unfortunately.

I don't know. The crystalized ice sand effect is rather nice though. I like it. These weapons might go well with the Zodiac Armor sets who have a similar blue hue.

Man, I really think this game is as good as it's ever been right now! I'm having a blast on the new maps.

It's a lot better when more people know how to run them. But look- The AB Multi boxing needs to stop. It's out of control and nobody runs Verdant Brink anymore.

I think Verdant Brink needs to be made easier to get 200%. It's just too hard to get 200 people working that effectively. It's a major hurdle even when its well organized.

I don't mind the green gems or whatever. I'm thinking those would look great on a reaper with green clothes.

I'm kinda tired of the serious/logical look atm :p

^ Your new avatar is cute.X3

Well obtained the new glider, which is pretty cool. Those wrapped weapons are pretty amusing too, and if be able to get more than one of them (since the achievement is infinite), I would least get the GS and staff. The new meta thing with that achievement is kind of nice.

sucks no tengu still oh well

anyway, time to start making HOPE! I hope I don't go insane!

I'm still on HOPE Part 1. I still need Itzel Leadership to get on part, and I need to get the drop from the one Swamp Fractal to proceed to HOPE Research 2. It has been a slog, but it has been fun.

I sort of ignored legendaries for a while, and now that I finally got a bug to actually get one, I'm finding that there is a lot going on that I sort of avoided because it was outside of my comfort zone. Now that I'm actively pursuing it though, I'm finding my rather small circle of friends makes it somewhat a pain to hunt for certain things.

I'm enjoying Wintersday 2016 so far. The Toypocalypse is probably my favorite thing, as it requires effort but it isn't super stressful to run with mildly competent people.

If the GAF Guild is getting some fresh injection of life I'd like to get in on that. Right now my wife runs a little RP Guild with a small circle of friends that I enjoy, but being able to hit people up to run dungeons or fractals, or just messing about in Maguuma or something, that'd be sweet.

Tonight I'll probably knock out dailies and run some Wintersday stuff before going back to grinding in the jungle.

I started the process for my 14th Legendary...Clovers out of the way, Gift of Battle almost done, this week WvW is easy we smashing FA and SBI...I don't know what i am making...

Welcome, newcomers!

Nemesis, you never cease to amaze me with your Legendary prowess. I need to finish Nevermore but FFXV has it's hold on me right now.

Angelina, welcome! I'd say it depends on what play style appeals to you the most and also if you bought the Heart of Thorns expansion since that will get you the classes elite specialization. Do you have HoT? Also, do you prefer being a healer or damage dealer? Do you prefer regular damage or condition damage builds?

just started doing Part III actually, really I don't mind running around, it's the fractal-locked ones that are annoying

I normally love a ranger but sonetimes i get bored because it isnt or doesnt feel as engaging. Im not fussed by min maxing skills just wanna hsve some fun. And as a mmo this looks awesome for exploring maps etc.

Guardian looks fun with the mechanics guardian great sword looks awesome so does the dragonhunter spec.

I have hot aswell n revenant seems like hassle having to keep swapping between stances in battle. Otherwise id probs have picked revy over guard

How do you guys bind your keys? I'm quite overwhelmed by the number of keys to bind, and the default controls are not the optimal way to play at all. I need some suggestions. I'm playing guardian and necromancer atm.

If you ever need a couple extra people to run Fractals, just hit me up. ID is TheSteamdriven.8239

But only if you want a thief who thinks he's a cruise missile and a guardian who sighs a lot while reviving him.

Good fun.
