Their new marketing approach certainly catapulted core games like Wario Land Shake It and Disaster to multi-million status.Starchasing said:Why release anything if they can get us excited with a few words?
Why release anything on the net if most of their audience learn new games from TV?

The only screenshots we'll see will be the ones on the back of the box I guess. :lolSadist said:Dang it Nintendo, screens of Excitebots, NOW!!!

I knew it got bad when I was reading this thread and realized I'd rather take NOA's side than Mother 3 whiners. NOA is the fucking Empire to gamers' Alliance, the dark side to the light side, the [Star Wars analogy], but the complaining has just reached boiling point for me.

If that looks like shovelware, then what doesn't? Honestly?Spiegel said:That Punch-out boxart make the game look like shovelware.
Thinking again, this could help the sales. GENIOUS

I should add that I may get around to it one day. I started the first chapter, but like I said, it was tainted in my mind by all these "My internet rage will never diminish!" eternal flames. It's not a bad thing to be pissed off it never came here, it's perfectly reasonable. Expecting it in every new PR and complaining when it's not there is a special brand of stupid.Masked Man said:;_;
I've never truly hated NoA about it because I was never truly expecting them to release it. Above all, I just want to cherish the game for the amazing work of art that it is. Itoi put together one of the finest experiences I've ever had, and for that I am truly grateful. It is my wish that as many people get the chance to play the game as possible, if only to savor the same glorious experience that I have.
I urge you to give the game a chance: I promise that you will not be disappointed. The tagline--"Strange, Funny, Heartrending"--is an understatement.
Fair enough - I think we can meet halfways and conclude that a bit of a marketing might've helped those titles.Starchasing said:Im sure they never expected those games to sell millions and millions

And perhaps Another Code and Wii Sports Resort before America.
Out of all the games that Nintendo has chosen not to localize, Mother 3 is a standout.ShockingAlberto said:I've never really played Mother 3, but I never want to because I'm so sick of people whining about it. Okay.Rash said:Out of all the games that Nintendo has chosen not to localize, Mother 3 is a standout.
As an unlocalized game, it's really no different than the likes of Captain Rainbow, Soma Bringer, Fatal Frame 4, or any others. But, the biggest difference is, there are just a lot more people who want Mother 3 than any of those other games. It has a following. It's not "whining," it's just a matter of a greater number of people asking for it.

Have you seen the latest NPD's?dialmydrive said:There has been alot of discussion within various media outlets based on current Wii software sales trends. Not only in media but forums as well and you can bet your ass that Nintendo monitors forums. Wii third party sales are of great concern to publishers considering putting more money and man hours into the platform because of its reputation. I don't see sales beyond what is posted here but the perception out there is that the only thing that sells on the Wii well enough on a regular basis to hit the top 20 is first party software. Is there any truth to this? Based on top 20, sure but I don't know about third party publishers bottom lines. According to Nintendo's PR everything seems to be fine. Maybe they issued the PR to help ease concerns of various partners?
I, personally, would like to see the game localized. But, honestly, I have already played it, so localization isn't a big deal for me. In fact, for a lot of fans it's merely just about the principle of the thing. Just like any unlocalized game, we feel that some standout titles just deserve their chance in other regions.ShockingAlberto said:Okay.
But still? Really?
