Obamacare repeal officially dead , Trump rage on twitter [POLITICO]

You can't blame the democrats for refusing to support a bill they were completely shut out of. The GOP gave them NO input on the thing, and then want to blame the dems for being against it.

Which, just no. You wanted them to vote for it, you should have let them sit at the fucking table and taken their input. Maybe they'd have told you what it needed in order to get their votes.

Thought Emoji Movie was good. Take that as you will.
They never truly wanted to repeal it to begin with, it was all politics. The original bill if followed by all the states and revised to force insurance companies hands would have worked.. but the GOP needed something to rail against, so they purposely sabotaged the bill by having states pull out and doing nothing to stop the markets from crashing in a lot of areas.

They knew they needed an issue to win the elections.. they had one. Problem is, after winning they had no plan to actually do it.. but the US voted in a President who's a stubborn dumbass.

Let's hope it's exponential and he's pushing up daisies in another 6 months. Worthless fuck.

Ironic that GOP can't get support for their shitty bill because it's not shitty enough for some GOP'ers and that in turn leaves Obamacare.

Careful, some of our GAF Compassionate Moderates will tell you how horrible you are for being hostile to people who want to abolish health insurance and electrocute gays.

So... the senators against this bill are Collins, Capito, Murkowski, versus people trying to kill Medicare: Toomey, Lee, Moran.

To be fair, republicans weren't involved either. Which makes this whole thing even more enjoyable to watch

That is the most insane part of ghe whole thing.

McConnel was saying that if this one didn't go through, they would have to *gasp* work with Democrats!

"Never said I wasn't a hypocrite."
Hopefully people in red states are noticing.

Capito is a no

Blood is in the water and they haven't even started yet, McConnell fucked up hard

I figured she would be a no. She was a no before the changes they made and said she would likely be a no after. For all her faults, she's at least listening to WV'ians in some way.

“Regretfully, it is now apparent that the effort to repeal and immediately replace the failure of Obamacare will not be successful," McConnell said.
Dear McConnell, you rotten sack of shit that plagues humanity longer than you should, probably through a signed deal with a unholy deity you worship in the darkest depths of your home:

Grateful for the ACA, definitely want a single payer, UK style system more, but its a start.

It was also an amazing play by Obama. He knew the healthcare system we deserve wouldn't pass with the current senate, so he basically stole a Republican health care plan and made it his own.

Republicans basically have no choice other than making a more "liberal" version of the ACA or ruining a healthcare improvement.

Not every republican is soulless Trump. They all have families or friends that need healthcare. How can you expect anyone to essentially vote yes on killing their own citizens.

Now we get to see how serious the democrats are. They need to put a single payer model on the table using trump's quotes about better healthcare and when he told that guy that their healthcare was better than ours.

If he wants to change the senate decision to a simple majority then he should change it too for the election which he would've lost if it was decided by simple majority!

The same republicans who voted against repeal and replace will also be against a full repeal which is even worse.

It wouldn't be the same pubs. A clean repeal would be something they'd get Rand Paul and other far righties on for sure.

Single payer won't get near the table until Dems get control back. That's a reelection pledge, not something they can realistically do right now.

They need to fight the repeal, tooth and nail. Fight to patch up what's in place. Fight all the other shit the GOP want to do. Then, maybe, we can talk about single payer. I want it to, but now isn't the time to expect single payer to start moving forwards federally.

Hopefully it makes strides in CA.

GOP honestly just needs to take the healthcare L and move on. They were against Obamacare because it was a huge dem win. Not for any legitimate reasons. Obama basically used a republican made healthcare plan to make it pass.

Now GOP should do the same. Pass single payer and be known as the party that finally fixed healthcare in America.

How long can they keep calling Obamacare a failure if they can't succeed in getting rid of it? Lol

They need to hold that L

But then billionaires can't receive an extra $50K a year!!

I disagree. If they wait, they won't be ready whenever the shift happens, just like the republicans now. They need to get in front of it, work the numbers, and let the republicans looks like the fools they are for not implementing it during this crisis.

Edit...

Exactly!

The hilarious thing is he could probably propose a couple of minor tweaks or improvements to the ACA, get it passed and take complete credit for the whole system. Just tell people Obamacare is officially dead and Trumpcare is now. None of his supporters would know the difference or care.

That's.... incredibly accurate and true.

Thankfully the Republicans and Trump are too dumb to realize it.

I mean he could tell his base the sky is green and they'd believe him. I really don't see any downside for him to this approach, but it would probably eat him up inside knowing he helped preserve Obama's legacy, especially by giving it a bipartisan stamp of approval.

Don't even need to respond. Republicans obstructed as much as possible who gives a shit why the democrats do anything. Even if Dems were a part of it they still have the right to stop this as much as anything

And then there is the whole fact that Democrats do not think that paying for tax cuts for the rich with heathcare spending cuts is a good heathcare plan.

So why would Democrats care that Trump "blames" them?

What a dumbass.

I wonder how many House Republicans that Paul Ryan made risk their careers to vote for a bill that won't even become law.
