Yep let's throw it in the pile of things that are good for Sony shareholders:
No cross play
No refunds

It's never going to happen guys.
Let it go.
Actually, Rocket League on PS4 does support cross-platform play, with PC
Meanwhile, Star Trek: Bridge Crew PSVR does support cross-platform play, with Vive and Oculus.
So clearly they are handling this on a case-by-case basis.
He sounded genuinely angry.Phil's a good dude. That was the most professional version of "yo what the fuck, come on guys" I've ever heard.
lol
These are the same 2 companies that say, "congrats!" whenever they each launch a console. What kind of funky industry we got into yall.
We also got news that Wargroove, that Advance Wars like indie game will also have crossplay functionality with Switch, PC and XB1 but no PS4.
He sounded genuinely angry.
I wasn't on GAF back then, but what made Sony decide to get rid of Ps3's boomerang controllers? It's never going to happen guys.
Let it go.
No EA access.Yep let's throw it in the pile of things that are good for Sony shareholders:

Fuck that.
Keep making noise until they listen.
what made Sony decide to put Spiderman in the MCU?
None of those platforms you named are consoles. I chose my wording carefully.
It's not different. Microsoft was the asshole then, Sony is the asshole now.How is this different from when Microsoft wouldnt allow Xbox 360 players play Portal 2 with the PC and PS3 players lol? It wasnt Valve's decision not to allow Xbox players, it was Microsoft.
Probably The Amazing Spiderman movies.
Actually, to correct you there, no PS4 version of that game exists.
Instead of choosing words carefully, why not choose clarity? There are already many in this thread jumping to the conclusion that PS4 does not support cross-platform play, which you know is not true.
asm 3&4 were still planned and in production until at least July of that year. i'm sure the fan's demand played some sort of catalytic role in the deal being made.

did anyone excuse microsoft for that? i don't understand responses like thisHow is this different from when Microsoft wouldnt allow Xbox 360 players play Portal 2 with the PC and PS3 players lol? It wasnt Valve's decision not to allow Xbox players, it was Microsoft.
No EA access.
Thor: The Dark World
Phil keepin on Jim Ryan's dumbass statements like glue. Good. If he gives an inch, exploit it
This is true.Times have changed, but bitterness hasn't.
And thanks for finding that quote. Sony was pro crossplatform and now they're not. Microsoft want pro crossplatform and now they are.
Let's not forget where this started.
it's not a good thing that sony didn't let their user base decide for themselves if they wanted it or not instead of shutting them out of being able to make that choicethat's a good thing though
Exploiting dumbass statements doesn't serve much good in my opinion. It only serves to muddy the waters.
What Phil ideally, should've done, was call out Sony for liars and said something like "I know you're lying and you're just afraid of losing a competitive business advantage of selling your consoles when people aren't forced to pick PS4 to play with their PS4-owning friends."
Of course, that would burn a million bridges.
I know what you tried but you can play with other players on PS4.
I bet with even more than Xbone and Switch combined.
what made Sony decide to put Spiderman in the MCU?
X1 and Switch will be able to play with PC and mobile so do you still think PS4 will have the larger player base for Minecraft?
while Spiderman is Marvel's biggest character, the MCU has proven that it definitely doesn't need him to succeed. civil war would've been a billion dollar movie without him. This helped Sony probably much more than it did Disney. Homecoming has the potential to be the highest grossing Spiderman movie yet.I was just playing around. Though I'd imagine Marvel themselves had more to do with Spiderman in the MCU than fans. He's probably their most important character, so they probably just grabbed their ankles to make it happen. If some other company had the movie rights to Batman right now, DC/WB would probably be willing to do a lot to get the character back into their movie universe.
Sony also gets to use other MCU charactersMarvel gets to borrow Spiderman for MCU, Sony gets exclusive rights to Spiderman in video games.
Real answer: the hack from North Korea pretty much turned Sony upside down.Thor: The Dark World
You don't work with the enemy, period. Sony is just keeping it real.
it was kind of a disgusting insinuation by Sony with that comment now that I think about it and Phil spoke on it.
Yeah. People are forgetting this is X1, NiN, PC, and Mobile. Which, even without Sony, is pretty fucking amazing.
Crossplay should be the future. It should be the next revolution in online gaming.Seriously. Having Apple, Google, Nintendo and Microsoft all on board to unify a platform is huge. It's going to be awesome that nearly everyone can play Minecraft together no matter what you're playing on. I can go on a trip and play on my Switch with my friend playing on his phone and my grandma on her laptop.
It really was. I also think this kind of interview shows why a lot of people like Phil Spencer. A more casual environment where he can shed some of the coached speaking and let more passion flow. Like the part where he says "people" say he talks about PlayStation too much, clearly he wants to talk about the industry as a whole and others want him to not give "free publicity" so to speak. It was a good answer that was respectful yet forceful. On a side note, as usual the whole interview was fantastic and Jeff did a great job walking through numerous interesting topics.
Times have changed...Jim Ryan went to the same PR school most likely.
Phil Spencer is assuring a top-notch experience though. There is a huge difference between "we want to ensure a top-notch experience for our players" and "we can't trust kids around them"
lol, Phil must be loving this. After years of being kicked around by Sony, MS has forced them with no good option here.
Accepting cross play benefits Sony the least as they are the market leader, and creates a dangerous precedent, as the more games have cross play, the less reason there is to get a PS4 because you want to play with all your friends who already have PS4s. Refusing paints Sony as the bad guy. There's absolutely no winning move for them here.
