What's the real reason Trump declined?

You guys think he refused because he can't throw a ball? He refused because he doesn't want videos going viral of a Washington stadium booing like nobody's business. It would be one for the history books, guys. And he knows this. That's why he refused.

Well, yeah, that PLUS, there's no way he's reaching the catcher.

In terms of American influence on the worldwide stage, Trump is already worse than Bush. At least under Bush, the world knew that America still could be counted on to support international institutions that have preserved a relatively stable international order for the past 70 years. That American leadership wasn't compromised by malign leadership seeking to end that order.

That isn't the case now.

Tell that to the dead civilians in Mosul

Trump is such a fucking coward.

+1 on inviting Obama to do it

Oooo that would be fantastic. The jealousy of Trump might be only thing that could make him do it and then get horrendously booed. Best part would be the standing ovation Obama would get if he indeed threw the pitch.

Doesn't want to get barraged by Whitey whackers.

He doesn't want to get booed. He knows he'll get booed bad and he doesn't have the skin for it.

That being said, I would pay top dollar to see Obama invited again and then see Trump's following reaction.

What watching a bunch of first pitch videos has taught me is that it's hard to even hit the strike zone for most people, let alone hit it at 88-100+ mph with life or break on the pitch.

Is it really that hard to throw a ball to a guy? So many seem to not even get close.

I think just the nerves and pressure of the situation gets to some people, especially when they are doing something that they probably never do any other time in their life. Hell, even professional baseball players that play on a near daily basis make errant throws from time to time, so it's not surprising that it happens when celebrities are doing this. That and we probably only really see the ones that are absolutely terrible out of the thousands that have gone relatively normally so it seems like it's a super common occurrence.
