Does anyone know where to watch the promo for episode 5?
I find it really odd that they even bothered to change Navia's actress, I mean they had the perfect out to kill her character off altogether.
No longer needed.
Then Crixus' love story would have been exactly the same as Spartacus'.
Indeed. Team Spartacus also needs females, Mirra isn't enough and I don't like the blonde that was introduced. Team Rome has Ilythea, Lucretia and Seppia. So they probably thought it important to keep her and balance it a bit.
Also noticed Glaber in The Fellowship of the Ring today. I knew I saw him before. And apparantly he had a role in Xena.
Shit I forgot he played Haldir in LOTR. Mind Blown.
I find Naevia's actor switcheroo way more distracting than Spartacus, amazingly.
Maybe because Naevia hasn't done anything except get a bunch of them killed and stand around looking stupid
I also thought the old Naevia was pretty cute and this one isn't anything special
Am I the only one that noticed they pretty much killed all the black guys in this episode?
It was actually pretty glaring. lol

I don't know, man. You might be looking too deep into it. They basically killed every red shirt imaginable, it's just that there were two black guys with Spartacus.
New Spartacus is a much better actor. I remember the cringeworthy yells Andy was doing early on in the season. I still would have rather kept Andy (his acting got a lot better in the end so it would be nice to see his progress) and the actor who played Naevia, for continuity and all, but I don't hate the new guy at all.
Glaber was really a weak villain in the first season but I think his extra screen time has markedly improved the character.
Haven't watched this since the first episode this season. Really had a hard time getting into it. New actors, like hardly any gladiators I remembered, etc. Now that you're 5 episodes in, is it safe to say that I should catch up?
Didn't Gannicus win his freedom? Whyis he now introduced in the arena
Also, who do you think is the better fighter? Crixus, Spartacus or Gannicus

I don't know if I agree that gay romance would be new for the show, since the romantic aspects of Barca and Pietros's relationship were pretty central in at least a couple of early season one episodes. As much as I love spartacus trying to follow a discussion when you are useless with current names yet alone ancient ones is tricky.
Have had to make a few of my own when talking with friends to have a clue what's going on.
So I hear sidus-kickus and cockus-grabus are going to be getting it on soon which would be new for the show, actual gay romance rather then simple sex. also not looking forward to the return of douchus-bagus, hated the character in the prequel series

Doctore has been too busy getting the living shit kicked out of him to die.
Being Black on Spartacus is a motherfucker.
Oenamaus kicked some ass in GoTA/Blood and Sand. Did you watch the episode where he duo'd Crixus and Spartacus before the fight with Theocolies and then spat on them? And at least he wasn't hung and had chunks of skin ripped out of him slowly.
I liked how neither character fit a submissive stereotype. We got only a hint of how that dynamic could play out in the hyper-competitive setting of the ludus. There was an extra layer of interest with the rivalry between recruits and veterans, which came through when Crixus got worked over during training.Barca & Auctus obviously cared for each other too, though their relationship was (presented as) a lot more physical. I wish they would of had more time to expand that in Gods of the Arena.
Auctus... ;_;
I think we'll see an alliance form between Glaber and incest boy. They started the season sniping at each other over who's fault it is that Spartacus is free but now they both have obvious reasons to want to work against Varinius.
From the teaser for next week's episode,I'll bet anything that Gannicus is only there because he wants to free Oenomaus
My money would be on Crixis in basically any combat situation*. The guy is a beast... and the only three marks on his combat record are: a fluke against Spartacus (i.e. standing on the piece of Sparty's wife's dress that is used to unbalance him), not being able to coordinate with Spartacus vs. Theocalyse (sp), and being a sacrificial hero in last week's episode.
Other than those three events the guy is a fantastic warrior. He's a meathead, but I think pound-for-pound he's the best 'fighter' of the three.
*Unfortunately now he has something really important to lose (Naevia)... so maybe he doesn't have as much of an edge? I mean, he will stay alive to get back to her, but what after that? All the guy wanted to do was kill people and die an honorable death in the arena before forming a crush... then all the sudden 'freedom' sounds good? You've lost it, Crix.
Oh...and did Glaber's actor get a nose job? Something looks different...
Naevia part deux sucks. Horrible pouting, uncontrollable person.
Older and wiser naevia is sorely missed.
What happened to her?
What happened to her?
Great ep, although lol @ Naevia getting nearly everyone killed.
