What do you mean for stacking software alignment?

Pretty sure stacking software was specifically invented for startrail shots.

Ive used them (helicon focus) to focus stack, just need a tripod and keep the camera in the same position the software really does a good job lining everything up.

I mean I don't want to drive out 2 hours, take pictures, and realize I did something wrong. Like having a tripod that somehow isn't stable and makes the pictures unstackable.

yea. definitely a good tripod and head. I would recommend a cable or remote release, failing that, use the delay shutter release if you got it.

Guys, do any of you have experience selling prints and framed photos? I ask because someone offered to buy me this (is NSFW) https://www.flickr.com/photos/52160369@N05/13978231676/lightbox/ and so I thought that maybe I could sell a couple of those photos online, but I don't know how, so if anyone could help me it would be awesome.

This is the full series btw

Yes. Theres lots of options. But it depends on what you want to do. Do you want something put together by someone else? Or do you want to put it all together yourself?

If you want to sign the print, that changes things too.

Whcc.com, bayphoto.com and others offer standard sizes printed and framed photos, but you would have to take it apart to sign it.

Do it yourself frames, I've ordered from pictureframes.com and americanframe.com

Good luck. Showing off prints is the most rewarding part of photography for me. There's nothing like seeing a beautifully printed photo in a beautiful frame or on a canvas gallery wrap.

Thanks! So for the signature would you recommend me to print the photo without my logo and sign it classic style with a pen?

Absolutely. Personally I would never print a photo with my logo on it unless it was like poster or something.

Signing your prints gives it a more authentic and personal feel.

I took this last summer while filming a cinematography school project at Mt. Rainier National Park.

These are the Cowlitz Chimney's, located on the Cascade Mountain Range. I was about 6,000 feet up.

One thing this thread reminds me is that i really need to get better at LR post processing. Really beautiful stuff in here. I feel like most of my pics just don't have that right tone/feel to them.. Right now i'm mostly just clicking VSCO preset panel stuff, I need to really start manually digging into curves etc.

I think I have this astrophotography setup figured out. I have a remote timer to take a dozen pictures to stack, I've tried it out. But 1 question: Should I keep noise reduction enabled in my camera? It takes nearly 10 seconds which spaces out the interval and I suspect the noise reduction will just screw things up.

More cloud pictures! Think I went a little overboard with the LR processing.

End result was beautiful though! :)

"Fuskjobb" - I really love old machines. This lathe was built in Germany in 1958. Because someone loved it its still in great shape (chuck is new though, here is the complete machine).

I found an old vivitar flash(90's) that belonged to a SLR my dad had in the 90's. I tried to put it on my 600D but it's not working, at first when I insert it on the camera it flashed immediately, but when I press to take a picture nothing, any way to make it work or are they incompatible?

I host my site on Zenfolio. It has a printing service and shopping cart built in. Made me $200 last week and all I did was collect the money.

Your options are either to find a service like that, or print them out using a printing company and mailing them to the buyers. Nudes have a limited amount of people buying them, but there is a little money to be made.

photogaf, i have a question! let me know if there is a better OT for this too.

I'm coming from a Canon XSi, and often I take pictures at motorsports events, and one of the common shots I take is where I pan the camera with the moving object so I can have a blurry background, to make it appear the obect in focus is moving. (like below)

I just bought a Sony RX100 Mk II, and I'm wondering how I can achieve a similar shot, if possible? I haven't had much time to play around with it yet, so I'm just curious. I can typically get away with taking these shots using Auto on my DSLR when I'm feeling lazy. When I tried to simulate a shot like this with the RX100, it went into burst mode when I held down the shutter, and took 10 pictures in a row. Is there a particular setting I need to use, to either turn off burst mode, and allow me to pan as I hold the shutter to get a picture like that? Or do I need to fall back on adjusting the shutter speed?

I'm moving out of my flat in a few days and I'm bummed to be leaving my room, which has been the best room I've had yet. I took this panorama last night to properly remember it.

So many great GAF photographers.

.

As I was scrolling down the page I was just about to post the same thing . Some seriously nice shots and some really interesting subjects. It makes me want to take a trip somewhere!

I just received my A6000 with the kit lens yesterday afternoon (50mm F1.8 should be here next week) and started an intro class last night so hopefully I'll be able to contribute something in the future.

I also picked up a copy of Understanding Exposure and The Photographer's Eye from Amazon, but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for tutorials or books regarding PS and LR?

I'm also a new owner of an a6000, but I'm coming from a Pentax K-r.

The camera is so unnerving because the autofocus is super silent and fast. Half the time I'm thinking "wait, am I in focus already?".

Going to do astrophotgraphy tonight west of Austin where light pollution goes to nearly as low as it gets in Texas. I'll see the Milky Way with my eyes for the first time even. Basically everything Austin or east in the US, and especially the Mississippi river and east is light polluted as hell. Like you can only see a couple constellations.

The moon is only slightly waxed and will set at midnight. Should be awesome.
