...should have a quote from when it was first revealed. Can't find it now but the stage presenter had a serious hard-on for sports cars.

I love how the wetness looks with the tyre tracks/marks on this corner.

The weather effects are jaw dropping.

Dear Rushy,

Once this game launches people will demand the weather update. Please give us a time line for the weather update. Shadow Fall released a co-op DLC pack over 6 months post-launch. I'd like to be realistic about expectations.

Fantastic work. Your team is all sorts of brilliant.

I love how that looked. I got seriously tense watching the cars skidding about the track; great stuff.

I still have way too much on my plate to pick it up at launch-- beyond the PS+ edition of course-- but I'll gladly get the full game once that weather patch comes out a bit further down the road. Very impressed with how DC has come along since the delay.

This game looks insane. Not only the best looking racing game on any platform, including PC, but the best looking game of any genre, on any platform.

Goyta say though, whoever at Sony thinks releasing short ass Facebook and Instagram footage is a good thing needs to be replaced. It does this game no favors.

The timeline is: soon.

I wonder how involved Evolution are in it, the guy in the PlayStation Access video said "we gave it to the ICE and it's starting to look sunny, I'm very pleased with the results".

Have we seen any sort of updated car list? This is the first time we've seen the A5 Beetle and what I'm assuming is a Mini Cooper S. I'm actually glad to see something besides supercars, as I also like taking vehicles I've actually driven out on digital pavement, though the Beetle strikes me as an odd choice. Here's to hoping my MKVII GTI makes the game.

Shame weather effects won't be in at launch, but I'm alright waiting if they are going to look like that.

This is what's missing from the Horizon 2 rain effect and why this looks so spectacular. The raindrops are actually rolling up the hood due to the speed of the car. They are static in Horizon 2, which makes them look nice, but ruins the cockpit view when they don't act like normal raindrops.

Have a link to forza horizon 2. I don't remember it looking that much worse especially when the game is open world and this is not.

Rushy has already mentioned Golf, we've not seen it though, but it has been named.

I've never doubted evolution. Not after the motorstorm days. And this is looking absolutely phenomenal!! Day one!

And for some reason I also thought cars wouldn't be showing up in the rear view mirrors. Idk where I thought I heard that.

Re: weather effects

I really hope the patch is planned for release soon after the game, otherwise I don't know how to feel about focusing on advertising content that might be as late as Shadow Fall's co-op update. It's borderline misleading, IMO.

Well there's nothing like rain in a racing game to show off the visuals.

I remember the wet races in GT always looked stupendous.

I have to agree with this. If we're talking a month or two out... Ok. I can accept that. 6+ months? No. Sorry. That is simply not acceptable.

I believe I remember reading an Evo dev saying December/before the end of this year.

Yep, they did. I love weather and day/night stuff in games.

What's the story on this?

Weather was never going to be a part of the game. I don't know if they would have made weather down the line if they did, but it seems they are adding it in with all the time they've had.

I wonder if they could release it in phases though. What I'm seeing here looks damn incredible, and it would be cool if they released it on launch with whatever maps are done, right?

I'm wondering how seriously weather will affect review scores, since it seems to be an added layer of immersion/gameplay

Can you guys imagine the content drops on this game?

With new tracks, weather is going to make the same track look phenomenal and new. I pray to god they release a tropical setting track, just so that I can burn through the first half of my laps in sunny weather, only to close it out with an intense lightning storm.

The biggest difference is the lighting.

Otherwise, the car models are pretty well detailed in FH2. It is no slouch, that's for sure. But DC looks much better.

This site is keeping track of the cars

Note that the Aventador isn't 100% confirmed right now. It was spotted in a video that the UI designer posted, but Rushy warned people to not take what was seen in that as final. We still haven't seen a Lamborghini in the game.

I am finally excited for this game. I will admit to being upset about the Delay. I will eat my words and just be thankful the Devs knew what the right thing to do was.

They nailed the graphics. I only hope they can nail the gameplay! This is by far the most beautiful racing game that I have seen. The details are astonishing.

I just want a retrospective on what happened during the development of DriveClub. How do you get delayed A YEAR and then still not have time for weather by its new launch date? Back during E3 2013 they said they weren't sure whether weather is going to make it for launch 2013. How were they that far off from their schedule on everything?

I want to see how development of this game looked from the inside.

This may have been posted already, but here's a comparison of the same part of the track in ideal sunny conditions, compared to the new wet and rainy footage. Insanely good implementation of weather here. Absolutely changes the entire dynamic and atmosphere of the track.

I seriously need 1080p no compressed footage of this. The detail just seems so insane. I cannot believe a first year PS4 game is looking that good

Words can't do this justice. Considering getting the steering wheel for this.

It's been discussed already, but why include powercables at all? Remove the things, it's the only visual issue with the game. M:A had some horrendous aliasing going on :(

Also clearly shows vanilla lighting is by far the least impressive.

Strange, everyone loves bright sunny days, but as GT5 showed, overcast always looks amazing in driving games.

Are you guys glad now that they delayed this game for so long ? Haha.

Looks amazing.
Funny people actually complained about the delay.

Well looks like it paid off.,

I'm one of the guys that have been complaining about the delay (bought a PS4 last year specifically for Driveclub, and its been kinda sitting around awaiting its release). I won't be complaining anymore though. It's gone from looking a bit suspect, to probably the best looking game I've ever seen.

I'm tempted to pick it up a bit later when the weather is added now, so I have the full experience when first playing it. It'll help space it out from Horizon 2's release as well.

I personally don't think it's by far the least impressive at all, just different. Personally I love the look of the lighting in the daylight in sunny conditions, and think I may even prefer it to night time. But I wouldn't want to pick one or the other, at the end of the day, the diversity is what makes it all the more compelling.
