Ah, didn't know that. I wish it wasn't such a paint o reinstall DLC. I tried deleting and reinstalling the game but it didn't delete my downloaded content, so I spent an hour downloading the patch for no reason lol..

Haven't had it with any other game and none of the OS-level fixes have worked. Can't imagine this would be the first I'd hear of it, and in such great numbers, if it could truly happen to any game.

I also found the same things being discussed about LittleBigPlanet 3 and with that game and Dragon Age, patches have been issued to the individual games, so I don't know what to believe now. I mean, the fact all of a sudden a ton of PS4 owners are having at least similar issues made me pretty sure its a PS4 infrastructure problem, but if they are patching this stuff...

But I didn't want to just leave it at that. I might be wrong about it not being a DC issue, I may have spoken out of turn. But I might be right.

Well, good to know the season pass isn't affected. I think I'll hold off on it anyway until either it's all available or if it goes on sale. I suck so it's going to take me a while to do all the base tour events anyway. But I want rain in my tour events too...waaaah

Challenge leaderboards don't always get completely loaded for me. Both in che challenge selection screen and the actual leaderboard screen. Anyone else have this issue?

I don't fully understand the collision penalties, but yeah I've noticed I'll get docked for accidents that are clearly the AI's fault. But usually if it's a light tap nothing happens...I think
I've noticed assorted stuff doesn't always load for me, I guess that's why no PS+ version yet. Lots of little white loading circles, but the actual game parts work, fine with me for now, still lots of single player to go in my case.

It's better than it was. I think you get penalized if you brake too hard or something of the ilk and the AI hits you because of it. I've had them just hit me and not been penalized but, I've had them hit me from behind when it was my fault and gotten penalized.

This is a very common complaint so you're not alone, but I would argue that once you manage to get to level 20 and 30 and beyond, which gets you into needing millions of points to level up, those -100 and -400 knocks you get here and there are so marginal as to be completely meaningless.
I play with the HUD off anyway and so never even noticed penalties, honestly.
Also, this will sound rude to you now, but will sound less so once you've really broken the game in and earned your racing stripes, so to speak: if the AI is hitting you from behind, you're going too slow.
gotcha, yeah i'm still getting around the driving model wich is pretty different from what i'm used to (Forza) so i'm probably being more cautious then usual lol

Stupid question. I just bought DriveClub due to all the recent hype and I've done a few races so far. What is a club, and should I join one?
I am casually competitive in that if someone was just above my in a leader board I'd probably keep playing to try to beat the score but that's about it. The GAF friends list I've already picked up seems to suit that need. Oh, and I not really all that good right now.

There's 5 club-only cars. That's frankly my primary concern though I'm interested in challenges...assuming they're close to my skill level anyway. Kinda disappointed at 6 people clubs, was hoping it could be a bigger social circle sort of thing rather than a "you and your best buds" thing.

The biggest thing you gain from them is unlocked cars. There are other things, like club challenges, liveries, accolades but, mostly it's about the cars.

I haven't heard anything about the Driveclub app in a while. Has this been canned I wonder. Can't imagine they'd release it before the ps+ version with all the potential server issues that could introduce.

It's not canned it's just delayed until the network and servers are ready.
The app was actually briefly up in the Android store when the game launched but they pulled it immediately when shit started going downhill

I'm mainly a bonnet view racer but disappointed to find that it is much easier to race behind the car when it's raining. The rain effect is much less when behind the car.

But I guess the screen is never cleaned by wipers which kind of balances things out - I use the bumper cam anyway so I get the permanent rain on screen too. It's kind of like riding a motorbike in the rain, you have to look past the rain and don't notice it after a while.

True, but I actually like the added difficulty of having to deal with the rain. Every victory feels that much sweeter. I just unlocked the BAC mono and the first thing I did was take it to Norway with the snow cranked up to 11.

So just bought Driveclub today and the game crashed with a CE-34878-0 error. I got these alot in singleplayer GTAV when it came out and the servers were screwed up. I had to disconenct my ethernet cable from my PS4 just to be able to play.
Is there any fix for this in Driveclub?

Handling model is identical to the Project Gotham Racing series and GRID 1.
Not as drift happy and forgiving as Rivals and Most Wanted.
The crashes occur when browsing leader boards in challenges, right?
If so, Evo are aware of the problem and working on a fix.

Just saw this--the game probably didn't reset it, but apparently a ton of AAA games don't actually respect the overscan setting or only use it to scale UI not the screen area, so lots of people only find out they have improper overscan settings when playing downloadable games (which usually scale "properly" by scaling the whole display not just UI)
Feels fine with a controller for me but I'm no sim racer fan and only ever had a cheap PS2 wheel that someone abandoned. People in the "wheel for driveclub" thread were even saying it plays better with a controller because it doesn't quite feel 1:1. It was definitely designed controller-first.
This is the one thing I wish they would fix.
How the hell is it my fault that the AI rams me from behind and I'm the one penalized? Then there are times where I graze another car and I get the "Collision Penalty".

The worst is when you need to do a clean lap and the AI bumps you and you have to do it all over again. WTF.
Just let them go ahead and do your clean lap calmly behind the pack.
As for those who get rammed, it will change as you get better; you will be the one to ram them.
It's so pretty but it's also pissing me off. I have to slow down to like 5mph around a slight curve to not spin out lol
This actually happened to me just as I was crossing the finish line in a tour time trial.
No, I'm playing in clear conditions. As I noted, at launch I could zip around the track fairly well but all of a sudden I'm constantly spinning out and losing control of the car. The same thing happens online.

Half of my saved screens have those on them and its driving me batshit. I mean, c'mon!
