Transformers are cool, PlatinumGames are great, this is coing to be awesome.

Do we already know if it's a 60$ retail release game or a smaller game like Korra?

I don't think Platinum wil compromise anything to dumb down their game for kids. Korra didn't and many people that reviewed and played that game didn't understand the depth of the combat system and on the first play-through enemies were tough in your weakened state.

Best Buy had it listed at full retail (at least I think, if $64 canadian is retail there).

That varies from person to person. I honestly couldn't care less about length, as long as the content itself is good enough to justify the price.
I'm well aware that the overall quality of the game itself has to match its selling price but the poster I quoted seemed to imply that criticizing platinum's games for their length is somehow 'wrong'.

Korra is basically Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae tier action game, the problem I have with the game was that the first playthrough has most of your skills locked and made the limiting enemy variety stand out even more, but the combat system and controls are pretty decent and fun, if you have problem with content then just wait for it to drop in price. I feel like those shit design choices are made because they wanted to pad the game into a "full length" game, and to have some kind of character progression except it's dragged out and made it look worse.

Transformers seems to be a full priced game so I'm going to expect more from this one.

There's a lot to do in a Platinum game. Some people just don't want to play past the 5-10 hour campaign each game gives you and that's totally fine. Its not wrong to criticize the games for being short, but I personally think the quality of the game would be severely hurt if it were stretched to 20+ hours. These kind of games can wear their welcome really quickly, which is why they're usually on the shorter side.

At least if this was a beast wars game, not a fan of G1, "munky not trukk" : (

Nice for the fans, Hope that Platinum can do 2 games now that Bayo2 is finished.

My concern is that ,even if it is a full price release, the game Will still have a korra-Level budget because ,you Know, Activision.

A perfect Studio Ox art style Transformers game by Platinum?

I'M SO HAPPY!

It's absolutely beautiful. I want it in my hands now.

As we all know, Activision licensed games at retail are incredible products.

Can you even think of a better game than Deadpool or The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct?

Hey now, Deadpool was surprisingly good. They nailed the character and the mechanics were pretty solid too.

The less said about Survival Instinct, the better though...

I hope they take a page out of Guilty Gear Xrd's book and have the animation look and feel like the old cartoons.

The guy from Arcsys said during the GDC presentation that limited animation with a free camera looks really fucked up. I don't think P* are going to do anything that drastic but it will probably have pretty nice animation anyway.

While I'm sure the budget will match the price point, I wouldn't get my hopes up too high. I'm not expecting much more than a longer and more fleshed-out Korra; glorious Platinum gameplay in what amounts to long corridors dotted with enemy encounters at steady intervals. Something that I'd be absolutely excited to buy day one and pump hours and hours into, but that I also wouldn't expect to set the world on fire with stellar reviews and crazy sales figures.

The main improvements I'd like to see over Korra would be the obvious ones: more enemy types, more bosses, and a better camera. More polish to the basic gameplay wouldn't go astray, either; it was so easy to get stunlocked in Korra and just watch your health bar rocket downwards, especially on the highest difficulty when they started populating all the fights with bolo and electro-glove guys up on platforms where you couldn't reach them. All things that I have no doubt Platinum could fix with a bigger budget and a longer development time. We just have to hope Activision will play along.

Sweet. For all its (mostly budget-related) faults, the Korra game had a very good foundation. Looking forward to what Platinum can do with the Transformers license and, hopefully, a bigger budget.

I'm so conflicted I love Transformers, but at the same time I have been waiting eagerly for Rising 2.

In regards to the game, it looks great with the cel-shaded graphics but only 5 Autobots playable. Why can't we play as the Decepticons? I still remember how awesome it was playing as Megatron in the Cybertron games. I honestly feel Transformers would be better suited to a musou style game considering how many characters there are. Hopefully the combat will be at least as goodness Rising.

Hopefully

we all know the real draw is being able to play as starscream, shockwave or merging to form bruticus

I hope soundwave's tapes are in the game
Playable Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, or Shockwave would shatter me into thousands of boner shaped shards.

We can only hope the game received a Little higher budget because the Development time Will be the same as Korra if Transformers comes out in October( even less if they didn't start it JUST after Korra).

I've never bought a transformers game before even though I loved Gen 1 and loved the movie.

And I love platinum so...

Sold!

Can't believe there are so many people in this thread whining about a G1 Transformers action game, made by Platinum.
Even complaining about those graphics.

What's wrong with you guys?
:p

They're worried because of Legend of Korra

I remain hopeful because I'm a huge Platinum/G1 fan. Hopefully there'll be a playable build next week
