How is Pepsi a beverage that exists?

Fountain Coke > Pepsi Fountain >= Pepsi Can > Coke Can

I don't know why Coke out of a can tastes so off compared to the fountain stuff to me, it's bizarre.

I always used to think it was stupid when restaurants would say "we only have Pepsi, is that ok" when I asked for a Coke. Then I found out that some people actually care.

If a restaurant said that to me, I'd respond with a "just water is fine"

whynotboth.gif If a place sells Pepsi, I'll get Pepsi. If a place sells Coke, I'll get Coke. I do prefer sugar cane versions in glass bottles when available.

I'm questioning why it exists in its current form. If I were PepsiCo, I'd figure out how to at least match Coca-Cola in terms of flavor. It seems like they're trying with Real Sugar Pepsi (tastes almost exactly like Coke) but they still have the issue of it going flat almost immediately

People have different tastes and like different things. I don't understand why that concept is so hard to understand.

Nah, Pepsi is basically like if someone left a bottle of Coke opened to lose like half the fizz then dumped some extra sugar into it.

Its funny because that's exactly how I feel only vice versa.

Coke is the reason why I don't drink soft drinks anymore due to it being in locations I tend to be more often. Once in a while though, I do indulge with a bottle of Pepsi and remember how I used to have Pepsi at least once every day when I was younger.

Pepsi Max is rather weird though but again, not into soft drinks anymore. Water for life.

Best wishes.

Ill never understand the souths obsession with Coke. They talk about how pepsi is too sweet then live off Sweet Tea which is like 10 parts sugar to every 2 parts water

Coke is nothing more than juice found in the bottom of dumpsters. Nasty homeless bound swines.

I have trouble understanding why Coke Zero is still around. People actually enjoy that stuff?

edit: Apparently Coke Zero here in Ausralia is different to Coke Zero in the USA. Hopefully the USA Coke Zero is better.

Coke is fucking disgusting. I can drink basically all different kinds of soda except for the various types of Coke.

I LOVE THIS STUFF.

But when I was buying a bottle at Fry's, the cashier told me the last person who bought one took one swig, said "this is trash" then threw the whole bottle away.

I wish they had a canned version.

Of course. But no one likes a flat soda.

How long are you leaving your soda out? I opened a can of Pepsi Max about an hour ago and it still had a good deal of carbonation left in it. Do you just like way more carbonation with your soda? Why does Pepsi need to mimic Coke if they don't want the extra carbonation?

Judging by the PepsiGAF posts in this thread diet/max Pepsi carbonation doesn't have the same issue regular/realsugar Pepsi does.

I'd probably buy Pepsi on occasion to switch it up if it wasn't an issue. It (canned) literally goes flat within 5-10 minutes, which is unacceptable.

But even on fizz alone, how can anyone conclude Coke is less fizzy than Pepsi?

I've been morally opposed to drinking Pepsi since a 1999 Brittney Spears ad campaign. Just. No. God, no. Full disclosure: I am a completely hypocrite and often purchase Mountain Dew. I'm just physically repulsed by the word "Pepsi" on a bottle.

Actually, it's a good measure of how trashy a bar you're in is. And it matters! Anyone who claims a rum & coke is indistinguishable from a "rum & cola" is a goddamn liar. These things matter! Coke? Great! Pepsi? You're -probably- still okay. But how do you know you're at a true dive bar? They have RC cola on tap for their drinks. Not even goddamn Pepsi.

I've never had any of these drinks. It's gotten to the point that friends of friends know me based on this attribute.

Cola Wars, Cola Wars never change.

I've cut back drinking the stuff ever since I had kidney stones a few years back but I'll always grab a pepsi product if I can (although I'll drink both).

Coke often makes me really gassy for some reason. I had enough of every sip of Coke feeling like I was gambling with my stomach and stopped drinking it altogether. Pepsi works well enough as a substitute. Dr. Pepper is my beverage of choice, but it's not always available.

I love that people think advertising has no effect on them, and yet you see them all the time thinking they have to choose one of these products over the other.

Eh I can drink both whenever but if I had an option I know I'll drink a Coke. Hell I even like RC cola if that's all they got.
