Yesterday I played against a good toss... this was on shakuras.

1) He pressured my quick third, nothing special.

2) Got blink stalkers, pressured.

3) Got DTs, which when he pressured my third sent them in my natural and main, had detection so killed em off.

4) Continued blink stalker pressure, now with quite a ball, still sent dts into my main so my micro needed to be on top....

5) Got a fucking warp prism and dropped zelots/dts all over the place.

GG...

But he was quite good.

Well, first off I should have gotten spines to kill the DTs since I could then let it be and focus on the engament.

Second, the warp prism play was, well, not sure how to tackle that during all this, since I couldn't go mutas since he had only stalkers (and dts).

I belive on problem was that I couldn't get enough drones at the start. But lesson learned.

Don't group your shit in one control group. Keep a scout marine forward.
Abuse the fuck out of scan (Get 4 vikings to kill observers) and cloak ghost/banshee. Stim groups of 4 to snipe HT.
Drop like a motherfucker. Protoss think they are hot shit with warpin, 200/200 CANT DO SHIT CAN YOU.

I had ghosts in one control group and everything else in another. I had a bunch of vikings because he also had a good amount of colossi. The colossi weren't the problem though. I tried to scan, sneak my ghosts in and get some emps off real quick. Didn't work so well because I ate like 6 fucking storms.

But yea I wasn't dropping enough. I should have done that to control his expansions. He was on two base for so long and then I fucked up.

I've seen stephano go from placements to gm using only zerglings, so it's not that surprising that flash could get to masters without knowing what the units do.

Of course flash is no stephano, but Marines are better than lings.

We need to come to a general consensus. I can throw up a poll to see which map pool people want and go from there. I can't imagine there's a shortage of people playing the GSL map pool on the NA ladder.

Either way, I'm not going to allow the disgusting map pool that was the last tournaments.

Do we want to? Honest question. The people on the list so far are the ones that have kept up with the SC2 community here. Personally, its been a year since the last tournament and I think you guys deserve to have the fairest chance at it, but if you want a larger player pool, then I can definitely create one.

Keep in mind this isn't the "thread" for the tournament. Just me getting my shit together so I can come up with a rough plan for getting the foundation hammered out.

Map pool is a lot better now and we can remove Shakuras, Meta and Tal'darim from the map pool. Force cross on others like antiga and entombed. No one wants to play zergdual sight or learn Atlantis shipyard.
