I blame animegaf for killing my enjoyment of 0083. I'd been waiting and waiting and I waited too long as now I can see present flaws. I suppose that makes me a better viewer but nevertheless!

Erm, thanks?

In summary: Not hipster enough.

Err, by internet otaku standards we're way hipster. SAO and Chooney would have been in the top five if the same poll was taken on MAL or Animesuki and stuff like Tsuritama and Shinsekai Yori would have been thirty or forty places down.

If 4chan hates everything and yet they lack an appropriate epithet to label us, what does that make us?

What you really mean to say is that you blame me, as I am the most vocal critic of that piece of shit. But you should really thank me for helping to make you into a better viewer.

You guys ranked Hyouka #1? What's wrong with you all. smh.

Also Tamako's titles are pure tease.

"We spent the night together." C'mon!

lol, it's just like 2.5 eps in and it's boring when not doing the mecha combat thing. I like to think the overlarge cast is unlikeable given how expendable everyone is set to be at the onset and how Gato lacks any sort of complexity so far as he's just a Zeon bogeyman. Just now to Monsha's appearance and that guy has more charisma than everyone introduced so far put together.

My only question is: why was there a creepy thread about NeoGAF's anime vote over on 4chan: http://archive.foolz.us/a/thread/79271508/#79276725

I know, I know, old etc.

To clarify, I honestly don't care about 'Internet Wars', they may be entertaining for a brief spell but ultimately they're a waste of time and you can guarantee that one or two people are going to take them far too seriously. I just found it odd that someone cared enough about the results to re-post them elsewhere but I suppose it shouldn't come as any surprise because I know that some of the posters in here also crossover with other websites such as 4chan, Animesuki, etc.

Bad.

Can't wait for ep 5.

Can you explain why you continue to consume it if you also describe it as bad?

I guess 'bad' isn't terribly descriptive without any context. It could mean a lot of things up to and including 'so bad it's good'.

Interesting. This is definitely going to help it reach a wider audience. Well, assuming the release is going to be far more affordable.

If it's English Dub I bet it'll be. Well... along the lines of the Madoka release maybe...

Assuming the show really is about communication, we certainly have yet another example of an attempt at it yet again. Of course, we also get an example of how gaps in communication can be bridged, so at the very least I feel like a theme is coming together. I'm still interested in where they're going to take the show any how.

Can someone explain to me why the animation in this show is so god like? This is was literally the equivalent of an episode of Birdy S2 or something. It had more animation than every single fight in JoJo's combined, and that's not even an exaggeration.

I don't get why there's so much sakuga in this show.

Noein ruined Birdy S2 for me.

Aside from the the biggest flaw (an utterly unappealing main character) and the flaws in the writing (mainly flaws in how mysteries should be constructed and presented which is bad even if the show isn't about mysteries) I think the melodramatic directing style was the most grating hing about Hyouka. It was slice of life but presented in a way that said that slice of life is the last thing the director wanted to do.

That actually is a good way of describing the show.

Gundam 0083 3

So with all this fucking around going on, I think it's safe to say Zeon has already used the nuke, won the new war, and the next 10 episodes are epilogue.

The worst part about this is I know I'm going to end up watching The Last Blitz of Zeon as part of my compilation movie fetish (and in the hopes it's not as bad).

Holy shit at this action, just straight up sakuga. BONES can really be godtier when it comes to mecha animation. The past couple of episodes have been great on the mech action front. Finally. God damn. Too bad this will probably be the best episode in the series on the action front. We get an Anemone-like character too as a bonus. Good times after the stupid plot line of the past three episodes(and probably future ones).

Really the staff for this was phenomenal. So Yokoyama directed the episode, he did key animation for ep.1 of Bebop and a bunch of other stuff. I should probably check his other stuff as well. Another seemingly important guy was Gosei Oda who did animation for the 26th episode of E7 and a bunch of stuff for Gurren Lagann. Oda has some more episodes coming up so I'm wondering if he was a major player in how awesome these action scenes turned out. Of course one of the five episodes that Yoshida did key animation on was this one as well. The action in ep.13 was pretty good as well so I'm curious as to how good Yoshida is in regards to action scenes. Yoshida's most noticeable trait is his character designs and animation but I'm now curious about the impact he had on the action scenes in E7.

You know, I can't remember if I posted about this episode.

It was very good. That's you need to know because if you're keeping up with the series you've probably already watched this episode, or you will watch it anyway regardless of what I write. I really should give it a little bit more attention but I haven't the time.

I will say that I thought the non-linear depiction of events worked surprising well in this case. Far too often it's just kind of thrown in as a gimmick to keep things interesting but it felt more meaningful than that.

My favourite transition had to be when they were discussing bombs during the meeting and it cut to fireworks exploding at the festival. There's a variety of types of cuts where when you cut from one scene to the other you try and link the two ideas that are occurring in the two different scenes but usually this is done visually e.g. you cut from one circular object to another, or from one sweeping movement to another sweeping movement (cut on movement). Here the cut was on the idea of explosions, which is pretty slick.

Looks like a pretty competent cast, though the only one I'm not sure of is David Earnest as Archer. The dude doesn't have much of a track record and the lines I heard in the trailer from him didn't have that suave yet 'I-want-to-punch-you-in-the-face-archer' arrogance that Tomokazu Seki brought to the table. Other than that, I'm confident in Kari Wahlgren and Jamieson Price doing justice to their respective roles. JYB was surprisingly the standout from the footage. Oh and Freeman and O'Brien are god tier because of reasons.

Moeshit shows get the most threads on /a/. Take from that what you will since it also involves a lot of complaining, trolling and meta-trolling.

Picking roles out of a box sounds like the worst way to organise a play. And goddamn, Chiba is annoying. 2deep4u gloomy auteur types are the worst.

Poor Midori, trying to fight the inevitable.

And she's also a hypocrite. Eh. I'm not in this ship anyway.

Dera continues to be the most entertaining character in the show.

Mercer sounds like a perfect fit in the trailer. Really nailed it.

I agree in principle with /a/'s tastes in anime, but not their posting style. they hide like cowards behind anonymous and its all very impersonal and stupid. Way too meme filled and way too caustic to be any fun to post. I'm not afraid of posting there, because I have posted in caustic forums before and still do in some cases, but its just not as much fun as somewhere that people can discuss such things intelligently.
