my summer prediction:

june - game & wario
july - wii party u

september - super mario bros. (3d platformer)

fall and beyond:

october - the legend of zelda: hd
november - mario kart u
january - bayonetta 2
february - yarn yoshi
march - retro's game

i think that would round out the fiscal year quite nicely. it leaves x, smt x fe, and smash bros. for 2014. you can probably throw in a kirby, wii sports, animal crossing, and mario party in there too.

Do you actually think that Nintendo will miss out Black Friday sales by releasing MKU in December? That does not make much sense.

Sounds about right. Figure they're trying to mirror the 3D Land/MK7 release since that was what really gave the 3DS a kick up the ass.

It even has a Zelda remake to help out... again.

But with the 3DS, we at least already knew that some 3rd party support was on the way. While on the WiiU...

May 17, 8:00 PST, eShop - Game & Wario, The Wonderful 101, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Bayonetta 2, Earthbound HD, Super Mario 3D U, Mario Kart U, Retro's title, F-ZERO GXU.

Cancelled - Wii Fit U.

Am I being irrational? No? I knew keeping my expectations this low would get me somewhere.

I'm not sure how you can get an Arwing on a bus but I'm requesting a ticket
Honk! Honk!

Anyway since everyone's making their line up predictions I'll say mine.

June: Game & Wario
July: Wii Party U and Pokemon Rumble U
August: Pikmin 3
September: The Wonderful 101
October: Wii Fit U (although it could be released in September also, hell it's probably already done) and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD
November: 3D Mario and potentially Retro Studio's new game
December: eShop VC promo for the holidays and maybe an unannounced game. In Japan they'll get X.

Q1 2013: Mario Kart U
Q2/3 2013: X and Bayonetta 2

Yeah, I'd be surprised if they put either of the two big hitters - MKU or 3D Mario - in the December slot. In fact, I'd suggest they're better off leaving December empty for third-party titles hitting in November to have some breathing room. If - and it's a big if - they can spark sales with a good buildup to November, then hitting with 3D Mario in October and Mario Kart U in November, what they really want is for those new owners to be looking for more titles in November and December and latching on to games like Assassin's Creed IV, Watch_Dogs, CoD: Ghosts (assuming it's still coming) etc. etc.

A big holiday for Nintendo is great, but a big holiday that the third parties who are still supporting them - Ubi, Warner, Activision etc. - can share in is even better. If I was in Nintendo's shoes, I would be aggressively pushing third party games in holiday advertising, pushing for hardware bundles and other promotions etc. They need to make a massive blitz at the right time, and if that means spending big on third party ad partnerships then they should do it.

I think Mario Kart U will arrive in November and with a bundle version.

I wish Bayonetta 2 would come out sooner even though I have yet to play the first. It just has some much love around here and other places that I am pretty excited for that. But I think that will be December at the earliest.

EDIT: And I want on the hype train/bus thing. F-Zero U is my most wanted game anyway... (that will probably never come).

I also hope they do talk about VC a little bit. There are a few games I want on my 3DS that aren't out yet and have been in other regions forever. Would be swell of them to put out stuff like Kirby's Dream Land 2 or Wario Land 3 at some point seeing as Japan and EU have had them both for months.
