Forgot about NCAA football, totally thought Minecraft would be #1 this month.

The industry is in such a shite state. They better hope that Pokemon improves the 3DS in the west to a level wholly above mediocre, that the next-gen consoles perform at least on par if not better than what their predecessors did in the first year. Otherwise...

I don't understand that one. How does that work?

All games shown in the top ten in the OP are combined SKU's meaning all console/PC versions of the games are combined. If they were ranked individually on a game per game basis those games in the quote I posted would've ranked, I said they look bad because GTA IV would've been in the top ten, it's a five year old game.

Far Cry 3 is still charting? Wow that's some serious legs.

Or some seriously terrible sales all around.

I fear for SMT4, but I guess @ $50 and being a niche as fuck series it didn't need to do much for Atlus to be happy. I look forward to playing it.... one day.

So according to the PR #5 made 150k? Ehhh could have been worse; should have been better.

Holy shit at SMTIV, apparently, unless sales this month were even worse than I was expecting. Congrats Atlus, I guess. Would be interested in SMTIV numbers in comparison to P4G numbers.

Yeah but one of them already had over 6 million in sales before it even went retail lol.

well that says not everybody is online and there are also people with smaller harddrives and with 6 million sales already the word of mouth is strong with that one.

Well Luigi's Mansion was about ~750k last month and now at ~820k so sold around 70k in July... which I guess puts SMT IV around that ballpark?

I can't fathom who exactly these hundreds of thousands of people are buying Minecraft in July 2013 at retail.

Xbox 360 continues to maintain its lead in the U.S. console market. Xbox 360 sold 107,000 units, more than any other console in the U.S., making July the 31st consecutive month Xbox 360 was the best-selling console in the U.S.

July 2013 NPD highlights:

Total retail spend on the Xbox 360 platform in July (hardware, software and accessories) reached $178 million, the most for any console in the U.S. (Source: NPD Group, July 2013)

During the month of July, Xbox 360 held eight of the top 10 console game titles including: “NCAA Football 14,” “Minecraft,” “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2,” “Far Cry 3,” “Borderlands 2,” “Injustice: Gods Among Us,” “Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” and “Grand Theft Auto IV” (Source: NPD Group, July 2013)

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Who's still buying Injustice after that boring Evo showing?!

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Minecraft long ago achieved that level of critical mass awareness where its ripple will forever affect new consumers who will buy it because "oh I've heard of this" and it has great kid appeal. Amazing stuff really considering what and how it started out and my little alpha purchase.

Last of Us holding nice and steady, but I imagine most other numbers up there are pretty terrible due to the summer doldrums and generation fatigue.

Now to wait for the leaks and presumably the last "worst" month of WiiU sales if Pikmin is going to affect anything at all.

Kind of crazy that SMT IV made the Top 10 based on SKUs.

Really want to know what SMT IV sold for.

Lugi's Mansion seems to have sold 70K in this period based on LTDs for this month and last month, although that includes digital sales (I'm assuming digital sales this far in would be pretty small, but that could be wrong). If the games that would have made the Top 10 list on an individual SKU list were given in order (meaning SMT>LM>GTA), than maybe a little bit more than that?

Even if it was lower, it would have to at least be in that general vicinity.
