I remember reading (or hearing) that because the Forza Ultimate Edition has an exclusive DLC, it pushed back the release of the Jalopnik pack.

yeah, it took one of "dlc development slots", the actual info is posted in this thread a while ago.

Haven't been a big car guy this generation of consoles but I finally went into the genre full steam and bought GT5 and Forza 3. So, I think I'm set for a while then.

I have a question though, is Forza's multiplayer community still pretty active? I see myself getting more involved with that because the online shop looks pretty neat and Gran Turismos whole online structure is kinda jank.

The belt driven ones are considered better wheels. But the standard pedals can't touch the G25's so you need expensive clubsports or an adapter to connect the logitech pedals.

So Turn 10/Microsoft aren't making a new wheel for FM4?
It would've been so easy for everyone if a Logitech product was allowed to be used on the 360.

No I think MS is out of the wheels market. So you choice is that craptrastic MadCatz wheel or the really sexy Fanatec one.

As for Logitech, that's probably will never happen this gen so I am not sure why people keep bringing it up. I think Fanatec is excellent solution, as the wheel work for PC, PS3 and 360 and the wheels are nice. (The pedal is a bit "mushy" but they are decent enough).

Well, the problem with Fanatec's products are that they're not 'mass produced' so to speak.
Especially down here is Australia, Fanatec's stuff are very rare indeed so the only logical solution would be a G25/7 because it is so readily available.
Anyway, Fanatec reckon that they'll be available to the Aussies this time around so we'll see how it goes.

Yeah, I see the note on Thomas' Blog ... I didn't know you are from down under. Everythings just so expensive there!

I am sure MS have the best of intention (well with alterior motive I am sure) when they went with that wheel protocol for 360.

I love my wheel and it work great for both 360 and PS3. Though with PS3 I find sometimes I would have to reset the wheel for it to properly work.

That wheel looks nice. But it seems completely unavailable for purchase on the Fanatec website. It's a shame, because I only have a DFGT and would prefer a wheel I could use on my PC, 360 and PS3.

Isn't the new wheel and pedal $299? I mean it's not cheap but it's not out of the realm of possibility like said those $2000.00 racing cockpit.

Yeah, the new 911 wheel do looks nice...

Because there are people interested in multiplatform wheels and not all reads this thread,
especially since this thread was created a year ago.

The first post in this thread has link to info about the wheel, the second shows the wheel in action and how the buttons lights up in PS3 and XBOX mode.

The release of GT5 and premiere of Top Gear here in the US have driven me back to Forza. There are still moments this game is gorgeous.

Was wondering if anyone might be able to do me a favor? I just uploaded a very basic vinyl group labeled "X", keywords "logo" and "superhero" (it's just a quick basic design with the black and yellow X-Men color scheme. Trust me it's very basic. I was just hoping that someone might be able to buy it for a 1000 credits to help me obtain the achievement. I'm not usually so obsessive with achievements, but I just got this game this weekend, and this sounds like this is the only achievement I will have trouble obtaining. It would be greatly appreciated, just uploaded a few minutes ago, so it should be at the top of a fresh search. And of course, I would return the favor if anyone else needs it.

As far as the game goes, I am really enjoying it. I only played Forza 2 a little bit, and it was my first sim racing game. I'm no car-head by any means, but I loved how accessible it was. I finally picked up this one...I'm quitting smoking and wanted a game that could just really keep my mind occupied and let me listen to some relaxing music in the background:lol

But I'm really impressed with how much more they have streamlined the UI and how easy it is to jump in and out of cars. Also quick upgrade is a godsend to people like me who have no idea about what's most important.

Edit: Also hope the SAAB makes it in to the new pack. My first car was a SAAB and despite the non-ending issues I had it, I always try to get a SAAB in my garage the minute it's available in these games. I would love to have a '77 in the garage
