Have you ever had Marble or Cold Stone Creamery ice cream before?
There used to be a store by my house and OMG they had the freshest tasting ice cream that I have ever had. So good and so many toppings.
My favorite had to be Strawberry Shortcake, Birthday Cake Or Cookie Dough. Mmmmmmm makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
Unfortunately the only place that still has one is all the way on the other side of town now. :(

Haha, yeah, I have had it. You should go on an impromptu date with your husband and head over there tonight! I hadn't gone there in years actually but somehow my wife and I ended up there one afternoon when on vacation in LA in December. We had some fudge brownie chocolate creation of some kind. It was good. I want to say they skimped on the hot fudge, though, and that it was not in fact hot. :(

You should've asked for more hot fudge. :)
Yeah, I should go on an impromptu date with my SO. Now, all I have to do is find one.
I'll make a trip over there before the summer is over.

Somehow I misread husband in your original post. Now I don't know where I got that, haha. Sorry. I think I read the word "house" too quickly!

Also, we would've gladly asked for more hot fudge, since it's the best part. But the woman working there took like 15 mins to make it, or something totally ridiculous, and really did not seem happy to be there....

Oh, for me no question it's Phish Food. Just classic and stands the test of time.

*pic of delic ice cream*

The problem is their ice cream has a lot of junk in it. I prefer Haagen-Dazs which has much more real ingredients. I also really like Gifford's for an ice cream with stuff in it, that's from Maine.

Haagen-Dazs is great too, though they too are extremely expensive here, same as Ben & Jerry's. (€5.99 a pint)
That's another reason why I haven't tried that many sorts out yet and just bought the ones I already knew.

Maybe it's better that way. Wouldn't want to be obese again. :/

Dairy.. mmm..

Dairy and bread are going to be the death of me. Hnnnnnnngggg..

I broke my no gluten/no dairy way too much recently, esp. the last week or so. Really need to get back on that.

Yeah, H-D is really pricey here. Like $5 a pint in USD. So not as expensive as it is for you, but still way pricey. Like you, I really do not want to re-gain weight and go back to being obese. I dropped at least 65 lbs a couple years ago and I want to keep going in the right directions (about 5'8 1/2 and 160 or so now).

It's like with games and everything else here in Europe: It's unfairly priced in comparison to the prices elsewhere. :/

I wish you good luck in keeping your weight, max! :)

Tried out some lipstick today after I got inspired by a photo of actor Norman Reedus and the Why is male clothing considered unisex, but female clothing isn't? thread.

Whaddya all think?

So...I came out to my big brother (straight) today, and he was very, very accepting.
We had a talk coming home about the subject of coming out to family members, and it was quite an eye opening experience. He basically changed the way I see certain people in my family, and revealed to me that my grandmother (a very important person to me) is quite the accepting little old lady.
At this point, I'm done hiding.
If someone can't accept me for who I am than they can go sod off somewhere.
Like, I'm not throwing caution to the wind or anything but I'm gonna be way more open and honest about myself from now on.
Good riddance closet, you will not be missed.
.
Certainly an important milestone to reach and it's very encouraging that he provided such a degree of support. I think there are very few who would disagree that being "way more open and honest" is an admirable approach given that you are not "throwing caution to the wind".
Since we were on the topic of weight before, I should say that I'm probably the biggest dude in here. I'm 5'11" and weigh 234 lb/106kg for you other folks. I want to get to 175 or 170 by this time next year. the year I went off to school I got much bigger and this summer I've been working out and steadily losing poundage. So hopefully I'm able to lose 25 lbs by the end of this year. We'll see though.
I definitely have some encouragement from in here though.
I don't think it''s necessarily a good idea to possibly put yourself down through comparisons with how others are ("I'm probably the biggest dude in here"), true or not, given that everybody has their own issues to contend with and it therefore is likely an unhelpful/negative thing to consider (as some may gain or lose weight faster than others), but you certainly have a great goal. It's obviously easier said than done, but if you keep working on it over time it will hopefully pay off and you'll achieve your goal in the timespace you desire and, if not, so what? Losing anything is helpful, and so long as you're happy cutting down pounds gradually (rather than doing it in a burst, becoming exhausted, and stopping) that's going to be of benefit. Working out steadily is definitely a good idea, weighloss in mind or not; are you going to a gym, using equipments at home, or doing something else if you don't mind me asking?

EDIT:
actually i feel really creepy and stupid while writing those smh sorry everyone

Regardless of whether or not writing fanfiction is "creepy and stupid" or not (personally I don't think so even if I probably wouldn't write some myself, if it serves as a creative outlet for somebody which they're passionte about they might as well go for it), if you've a flair for creative writing and an urge to improve your ability to compose, structure, and narrate stories, the Creative Writing Thread(s), the latest of which is here, and the Writing-GAF Mega Thread are worth checking out. You certainly shouldn't feel 'creepy and stupid' if you enjoyed creating them and find it beneficial to you (in any form) though (provided it doesn't break the rules of the site of course, I don't think something like "50 Shades of LBTG(AF)" would go down too well).

That's a bad thing? :p
I would probably use them for lunch.

My own putdown was meant in jest. I'm not sure that I am but I'm certainly not down on my self about it. But you're right. I shouldn't do that.

Right now, I'm just running outside everyday. I'm going to be going to the campus gym soon to go back into my swimming regiment. I'm also eating at home more. Fast food has been cut down significantly as well as sodas. I'm slimming down at my own pace and loving it.

Nothing interesting to say? We can also talk about our crushes on various actors or other celebrities. Or write fanfiction and post it in here. ^^

Ben & Jerry's, huh. Well, that's an addiction I would say then. (I would know, I was eating a whole cup every two weeks last year >_>)
What helped me was just pure and simply coffee (wheat coffee and normal bean coffee) instead of sweets and walking, lots of walking.
Haha, that would be something to talk about, huh, lol.

Maxcriden: Thank God I don't work there then, I would have been a huge blob of fat, lol.
I have a soft spot for B&J Peanut Butter Cup, I love peanut butter, but people here almost gasp at the thought of eating it, so there's not really a lot of products and candy containing it. :(

It's worth a try when the other option is using an S4 mini as your phone :/
It's actually slightly better than I thought though with a non pentile screen and Krait cores.

Modern phones are surprisingly waterproof and can be revived even if water seems to have shorted something.

Well it went into the washer and then the dryer for a good half an hour. Was pretty confident it wasn't going to turn on. Did try letting it dry for a day or so.

Also I like the mini S4. :(

What's wrong with it exactly?

Mostly the concept. The big phone makers take a popular brand and make a slightly cheaper version that is way worse in every way. The consumers choose them for the name when there are much better options for a cheaper price :/

They (mini versions) also got a lot of hate when people wanted a smaller high end phone and they were all heavily downgraded.

Wasn't going for high end honestly. Just wanted something small with decent battery life, and not an iPhone. Samsung mini seemed good enough for my needs.

The Moto G is basically that though. Has been sold for like 50 bucks without a contract, but MSRP is 179 unsubsidized.

Meh. I didn't see that at the verizon store.

As a prepaid it's cheaper than a refurbished iPhone 4. Prepaid "plans" (I thought it had to be filled up) seem to be 45$ a month with 500MB data which is just slightly outrageous.

On an unrelated note I've never had a harder time finding out what a simple contract costs.

Tomorrow I'm finally gonna whatsapp my sister's husband's brother (my co-brother-in-law?) that what he knew all along is actually right on the money. It's such a silly little thing but I'm feeling so exited about it. This will be just too much fun. Did I mention he's gay? Probably should. Even engaged now (not really endorsing that, but that's another story).

He always loves to very subtly tease me about being just as into guys as him. And I always love to catch his subtleties and let the possibility dangle ambiguously in front of him. I would always wear my gayest outfits (nothing extreme, just the most twink-y and pink usually) when we meet at some family event just to play with his expectations. All this has been a lot of fun, but now is the right time to shift the layers of our relationship. He will say he knew from the beginning, well guess what, when I first saw him a few years ago he was so obviously gay it was like written all over him. So much so that when I heard of his coming out I was still surprised because in my eyes he had already (or something like that)

Anyway, our playful relationship will get even more playful now. I actually meant to tell him two weeks ago in person but the sitch just didn't facilitate it (although his subtle remarks and winks at it were borderline in-your-face this time round). So a few days later I wrote a message and saved it. After all of his overt teasing it would have been so inappropriate to send it right after we had seen each other in person and where I defied his insinuations in the ambiguous way I always do. So I gamified the study paper that I had yet to finish and promised myself the sending of the message as a reward. Well, handed in my paper today. So I'm gonna spice up my day tomorrow, now that I have so much free time anyway.

Okay, I realise this might read a lot more offensive than I thought it would. Seeing only the fun part of coming outs when for a lot of you that exact thing is a thing of dread and palpable risk. But yeah, embracing my life in this way promises to be so much fun already. It's like a really long but smooth process I've been in for the last month or so. It's not just the engaged one but everyone seems to be more and more suspicious of my sexuality. And I'm having so much fun peppering their expectations with more and more subtle remarks of myself. Still don't see the point in 'coming out' to my family though. They couldn't care less (in a good way that is) so why make a big deal out of something I have NEVER been explicitly asked about for 20 years anyway (plus the whole 'what exactly -am- I label-wise? As if it matters. Or like I would know the answer to that.)

Just really have to grab myself a bf now. As soon as I got that, I will be just as excited to share the news of my luck and happiness with everyone and their mother, as I am excited for this tiny step tomorrow. Until then (assuming they don't outright ask me) it's a non-issue. Obviously this whole dynamic will change once at least one person will know it for a fact (that would be tomorrow). I'll just sit back and see where all of this goes. Man I'm making it out to be just so much fun again. Sorry. But this IS a once-in-a-ifetime fun thing to do. All these undertones, all these different degrees of tension with different people. I feel like a maestro in the middle of it. Totally in control, still having the ace up my sleeve waiting for the perfect moment. Of course I shall remain grateful for the rather conventional coming out of my co-bro without which I could never feel as safe about this as I rightfully do at this moment.

I guess I'm really lucky. (Although you shouldn't think this all means that I don't struggle at all. Oh hell I do. It's just the coming-out part that I rather look forward to instead of fear. Aand... of course it hasn't happened yet. So no warranty on experience. I imagine the most akward part is telling the most distant relatives or people you know for very long but rarely ever see. Or dealing with all the rest of the world actually. But right now I'm in this bubble of safety. And I'm enjoying the shit out of it for the time being. Weird, huh.)

I read this interview and I guess this thread might be the most appropriate place for it.

http://www.frontiersla.com/frontiers-blog/2014/08/03/alexis-arquette-spills-secrets-to-jackie-beat

JACKIE BEAT: If this were speed dating, how would you describe yourself to a complete stranger in just one sentence?

ALEXIS ARQUETTE: Bleached golden goddess with delusions of grandeur needs to be put in her place.
JB: If you could watch only one movie every single day for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

AA: The Party starring Peter Sellers and Claudine “I’m not just another Astrud Gilberto carbon copy! I will shoot my Olympic skier boyfriend for cheating on me!” Longet. This film is full of camp and kitsch but doesn’t leave a sticky shower-worthy film on me like Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.

JB: Complete the sentence: “I could not live without…”

AA: False lashes, coconut water and hollandaise sauce.

JB: What celebrity would you like to have wild, passionate, dirty animal sex with?

AA: Jon Hamm.

JB: Describe, in detail, your death row meal.

AA: Filet of beef au poivre cooked medium-well; potatoes au gratin; asparagus; tomato bruschetta; Cobb salad with vegetarian bacon bits, because I don’t want to end up in Halal or Kosher Hell; and deep-fried dulce de leche ice cream topped with caramel … and the governor’s semen.

JB: If you could come back in your next life as anyone or anything, who or what would you be?

AA: A leafy male sea dragon. An exotic seahorse that is impregnated by his female mate. Or Ursula Andress!

JB: Share your favorite beauty tip with us.

AA: Raw lavender in a hot tub. Isn’t comfort true beauty? And dip acrylic wigs in curlers into boiling water for a permanent press!

JB: Tell me a secret!

AA: I had sex with Jared Leto back when I was presenting as a male. And, yes, it’s not only massive; it’s like a Praetorian Guard’s helmet.
Alexis Arquette was pretty massive herself before her operation, you can google and see the nude pics yourself.

But what a ....unique visual.

Anyways, now since I know Jared is open to dudes I'll just now imagine I have a chance.

Thanks Gato! Yeah, the prices of everything in Europe always seem obscene to me. I can definitely see why EU gamers like to import NA consoles for digital download. Thanks for the well wishes, I made an unwise decision for dinner tonight but hopefully my relatively healthy eating otherwise will balance it out. Gotta love that broccoli!

Oh, I love PB. My favorite dessert flavor is PB and chocolate together. I'm not huge on desserts in general (my wife has the sweet tooth) but that's definitely my preference. I ate this today, feeling those Monday blues a bit:

Congrats! That sounds awesome, you are free to be who you really are :)

I just wanted to say congrats! That's awesome, MG3000. I always really enjoy your posts so I'm very glad to see this. :)

Congrats! That's a fantastic milestone to pass! So happy for you! :)

Thanks everybody! :D

I hope to have a similar experience as you when I finally do come out to him, though! Congrats again!

I really hope your big bro is just as accepting; not everyone is lucky enough to have the same positive experiences when coming out (even in this day and age)
All we can really do is brave it out and hope it doesn't turn out to be a sour experience.

Broccoli is amazing.

I like you, we are so very few D: I prefer it raw but not many like it that way. (Do not quote that out of context :p).

Also, kids, please, please don't do drugs. I was at this huge club saturday with my friends and while very entertaining I had to witness at least four fights and even my friend got into a huge fight with an old friend of his who couldn't take an innocent joke, his friend, of course, was high out of his mind.

Whats with gay and drugs? I hate the stereotype but it's ugly when it comes true in front of your eyes D:

It's the best drug out of them all though. Well, after theobromine. and caffeine, anyway.

Not best drug but it tastes the best (not counting coffee, etc). Best drug is probably LSD or something. Also I don't really care for Theobromine tbh, it's a crappy stimulant.

Literally got two bottles of red wine for working first day of work today at a winery. Score!

Noice. R u going to become a sommelier?
