Media Create Sales: Week 1, 2012 (Jan 02 - Jan 08)

What about compare as a whole series progress?
Here's what's in Garaph for Ocarina of Time and later. This includes home consoles, portables, new games, ports, remakes. To see what any particular line is it'd be simpler to look at the list than list everything here.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
A thing about Nicola and DQ Rocket Slime 3: when I saw Nintendogs thirteen, I immediatly thought that we could have seen some others rising a lot (Pokemon and Zelda were sure bets)...and here we have Nicola and DQ. This can be a sign that those two titles probably were just few positions out of the top 50, and maybe other titles such as Shin-Chan acted like that. It's particular that both Nicola and DQ have been released in the exact same week, the one of 3D Land.

Let's see if both Shinrei and Ace Bomba (I don't believe in it so much ) obtain to do respectable first weeks, in the end. :p

Looking at current Wii release schedule and the early dating of Mario Party 9 Wii could literally have no other new release between Kiki Trick next week and Mario Party 9 at April.

That's sad. Will Wii have other releases in 2012? Given the success of Just Dance, Just Dance 2 could be a possibility but IIRC Nintendo doesn't have anything in development.

This is as sad as not having a single game with an article about in Famitsu, while 360 have almost ten games on the magazine.

...Wait, this happened too :(

My only problem with my 3DS is the creaky spot under the right buttons.

I may investigate taking it apart to try to fix it somehow (bubble gum, foam or something).

That being said if the 3DS is doing this well then a future 3DS lite version would be great.

Sony will be caught in between improving Vita sales and thinking about PS4 at the same time.

Yeah it is truly dead. Makes me wonder if Japan might be getting Wii U a bit earlier than the rest of the world. They surely need it more.

Just Dance JPN is already based on Just Dance 2, but it's not a port, it's a totally new game. There's room for Nintendo to do another installment, of course.

Ok. Then a Just Dance Wii 2 for the Japanese market based on the third episod with new songs.

This is certainly possible and I think Nintendo should do it, even if it wouldn't have the same impact of the first (500k, as Takao forecasted ).

...And if...and if JDWii 2 instead is...Just Dance Wii U? Considering what happened with 3DS, and that so Wii U shouldn't have such an high price, having it at launch would attract people, especially in the long run. Just the opposite of what happened with Nintendogs in the first months of 3DS, not having a good impact due to the high price of the device.

However, Wii have also Fatal Frame 2R, in theory...in theory, since we haven't seen it in one year and an half...

OK guys, I know I've been bringing up additions/changes at Garaph more than usual the last few days, buuut it's kind of been my weekend hobby. Now here's something that's not an addition to the site, but something I thought would be fun to try out, a bit of horizontal expansion. Garaph: The Book (For Kindle). No images and the formatting isn't all hot, but it's got the information from the individual software pages, the group pages, and the weekly overviews. Each section also includes a link to the Kindle web version. There's more that could be done, but I thought this was enough for a test--and already that's up to a file over 7 megabytes.

Trying to tweak the formatting is a bit of a pain, as instead of just reloading a web page seeing if a change works means rerunning it through the converter and loading it onto my Kindle. So there's some known goofiness like dates or numbers splitting between two lines that weren't fixed after several attempts that I'm just letting be for now.

And even i am moderately surprised
Poor Shinrei Camera :(

it's sold out in each of the 6 stores i visited yesterday and was sold out on the day of release in 3 i went in on launch day (different stores) - it's potentially sold out in 9 stores.

Usual story for Fatal Frame - low ship numbers, sells out, becomes hard to find, price rockets.

It really would be nice to get some shipment numbers/sell through percentages on everything.

Naah, too much. 3 copies is pretty spot on, instead.

Wii is so dead that in the Amazon top 100 has less games / accessories / things charting than 360. Yes, you read it well.

Online retailers are where Otaku would buy their stuff, so it makes sense they'd be in the Amazon lists where as Nintendo casual software wouldn't.

That it's a port/remake was never more than an assumption, I think. It would be a wasted chance if they didn't move it to the Wii U however.

It was on the latest Wii release list from Nintendo, one of two games that had a TBA release date. The other was Mario Party 9.

Nintendo isn't known for updating its release list zombies very often, though. "Monado" stayed on it for what felt like years.

Still I wouldn't be surprised to see it released on Wii. For such a low-selling franchise there's nothing to gain by putting it on Wii U.

Niche games releasing at launch is usually a better idea, especially if they're good. Early adopters might pick it up out of boredom and like it, and it sells over the life of the system. Potentially low-selling titles released on a dead system is what doesn't make sense, since it's doubly unlikely to sell to anyone who wasn't already potentially preordering it. :p

Nintendo completely overhauled the card boot process with the 3DS,

Part of the anti-piracy steps put in by Nintendo for 3DS? Interesting.

Nintendo completely overhauled the card boot process with the 3DS, I don't think it's possible to make '3DS-enhanced' games.

Do you know if it's possible to access DS card data from an eShop game? That could give you a weird workaround, although you'd think they'd have done that with the Pokedex if they could.

I would assume they could, but I have no more real knowledge than you. I don't think that the Pokédex doesn't says much--it seems like one of their big SpotPass attempts to get you coming back to the system each day, so letting people do something like import their list from Black/White would be counterproductive.

Bwahaha, so I was right. I wonder how many ended up at Clap Hanz...
Probably none since the Takahashi Bros. specified it was RPG staff who left and we've yet to see Minna no RPG or even a real career mode in the Mingols.

funny thing is.. it actually could.
No it won't, precisely because it's now a MMORPG. It's going to outsell FFXI at least though.

However, Wii have also Fatal Frame 2R, in theory...in theory, since we haven't seen it in one year and an half...
Wii also still has Rodea The Sky Soldier on the schedule, though Naka said it's been finished awhile now which is worrying. In addition to a potential Just Dance Wii 2, I could see Nintendo picking up Epic Mickey 2 for localization maybe.

Tennis had a pretty meaty career mode with walking around and such. I have no clue why Hot Shots Golf 6 doesn't.

Rodea's likely to be a non-event, and will Nintendo localize a non-exclusive (Epic Mickey 2 that is)?

Can I see the most recent schedule? We should get the newest one around the 26th as I heard someone say that's when Nintendo holds the annual BIG ONE! :D

Remember?

2011: Kirby Wii, Pandora's Tower
2010: Xenoblade, The Last Story

DAMN, what bombs will be dropped this time?! :O Hope we'll get something awesome for Wii U announced, as these games often don't come until a year later.

At this point I doubt the Wii version of Rodea releases at all. Nintendo picked up Goldeneye although it was going multi, I could see them do the same for EM2 if they were pleased with sales from the first.

I don't think we'll get anything for Wii U.
But for 3DS...My guesses: Pokémon Grey / Pokémon Ranger, Monolith's 3DS project to be released in June, Mario Tennis & Animal Crossing release dates, Wario Land. Third parties: official KH3D release date, and DRAGON QUEST VII REMIX.

But Goldeneye PS360 was announced after Nintendo brought over the Wii version, no?

Ninendo undoubtedly knew about it before public announcement, which happened around the same time as JP release anyway iirc. By localizing EM2 they might make it a defacto exclusive in the region too (I don't see SE picking up Reloaded or anything yet).

gamesmaya has Ghost Camera very high at the sales of last week. Maybe things won't be so bad after all.

YES!
But Ace Bomba is bomba after all, me thinks :p

EDIT: Mmmh, but are you talking about the chart on its site? I think it's just the chart for the brand new releases, not the chart with all the other old releases, this shouldn't tell a lot unfortunately.

Thanks for the insight mpl.
Comgnet charts suggest we may prepare to see MH3G and FF XIII-2 have legs. Not a surprise for MH but I would be impressed if FF doesn't diop below the 20k line.

Camera rankings seem less encouraging that what Chris' musings suggested.

Rhythm Thief is gonna be interesting.

It has only 18pt on Comgnet, and it's out next thursday...but it's flirting with top 10 from some days, it's really high on Amazon. It could be something like a "casual" hit, in the sense of low preorders but good sales. However, it should be with no dobut the best attempt in "imitating" Layton happened in a while (even better than Treasure Report). And...oh, how strange, an attempt "imitating" Layton could succeed, because the game has something that characterizes it, the rhythm mechanics. Who would have thought!

However, it should be with no dobut the best attempt in "imitating" Layton happened in a while (even better than Treasure Report). And...oh, how strange, an attempt "imitating" Layton could succeed, because the game has something that characterizes it, the rhythm mechanics. Who would have thought!

That game shares nothing with Layton. Nothing.
