I guess there will be slower sales for PSP (due to forthcoming slim version), and 360 will surpass PS2 (for the first time since April 2006), while also being back to having twice the sales of PS3.

I find it hilarious that some people are predicting 360 Madden > PS2 Madden. I think 360 Madden was just over 50% of PS2 Madden last year and that was just in the first week. By the end of the year, it was more like 2.5:1 in favor of the PS2 version.

eh, not quite. off the top of my head, it was ~400k:~240k. something like that, at least.

oh, it was startling, to be sure. the ps2 drop from the prior year was not overcome by increases in the 360 sku and the introduction of a ps3 sku. call that the wii factor, i imagine.

it's going to be interesting to see how madden plays out.

NCAA last month, anecdotal pre-order reports, Amazon sales, and the beginning of the perfect storm. Believe.

PS2 NCAA sales more than halved from last year... The only way Madden PS2 get outsell is if it happens the same..
With a Wii sku (and Madden being much more important than NCAA) it's really unpredictive, but it may happen..

I think the one wild card in all this is the advertising blitz for the 360 version. I mean everywhere. Particularly with all the talk about the 360 versions being the definitive version. I believe it could go either way, but of course, the PS2 still has the significant base advantage.

You're going to want to put those software predictions in "quote" tags. Otherwise, your Wii prediction will be 126K, PS2 would be 139K, etc.

[PS3] 125,000 - trending down after the cut, with $600 SKU on shelves again
[360] 325,000 - just under doubling. It showed surprising strength in July, should do so again in August
[GBA] 81,000 - no clue
[NDS] 415,000 - pretty much flat
[WII] 420,000 - same
