Crushed is completely right. Consider this, just about the second thing we heard about Brawl was that the Zelda team had been contacted for updated models of Gannondorf, Sheik, Zelda, and Link.

I figured by spoilers people didn't want any secret characters to be disclosed to them. I figured an expected starting roster character didn't constitute a spoiler. If a mod changes it that would be ok. I didn't want to spoil anything for anyone.

No, Samus' character background is because Metroid Prime 3 comes out soon in Japan.

But that's probably why it's there, to explain who Samus is. Just like how US magazines will probably have to explain who Lucas is, as well as some potential secret characters/Assist Trophies like Sukapon, Takamaru, and Geno.

I am almost certain it's because of Metroid Prime 3 and has nothing to do with Smash.

Well, I wouldn't say that. Technically she is a secret character. She wasn't revealed early on the Melee blog either I don't recall. But yeah, a spoiler tag would be stupid. Like I doubt we'll see Luigi too on the dojo either, but obviously he's in.

If Zelda's a starter as she was in Melee (and being in the cutscene before even the first match of adventure mode leads me to think she is), Sheik isn't a secret character even technically.
