Smash 3DS demo hits Sept. 19th - Platinum Club Nintendo members may get codes today

Before everyone floods their CS number, just a heads up that they don't really do anything outside of asking you if you definitely fulfill all of the requirements and then explaining that the codes are still going out and to wait longer.

If I call up ranting about being a Platinum member for 5 years and having Smash as my most anticipated game ever, but having email preferences off and complain about no prior warning of promotions specific to opting in

Can I get a pity code?
 
I can't even get the site to work to check whether I had notifications on or not. I swear, it's like Nintendo can't get this shit right. They always have to be more complicated than needed.

I called and was told the exact opposite of this. 5 minute call and I was told that I will be receiving codes within a few hours.

Were you a Platinum member for this year or last year?

I was only Gold last year, but Platinum for this year. Don't know if calling would be a moot point for me :(

I filled in an email to support, and they said I need to meet the three requirements, which I do. They also gave me an email to reach out to if I think I meet them, and then gave me the same fucking page I used to contact them to begin with Lol

the email also said all the codes were already sent out

you should probably just saw you've been a platinum for years and are waiting for your code and wonder when you'll get it.

Just got my e-mail a few minutes ago. Pretty nice surprise since I wasn't expecting anything.

Edit: Damn you guys are circling huh? I'll give my extras out in the other thread in a bit lol.

Last year. I'm not even Gold yet this year. Couldn't hurt to try, I explained I was having trouble logging in to check my email preferences and that I knew I was qualified - and the rep told me I wasn't set up to receive anything. After about a minute he told me "Okay, I fixed that for you so you'll be getting your download codes within a few hours. Anything else I assist you with today?"

I was very pleasantly surprised!

Just talked with Nintendo:

IMPORTANT DETAILS. Your account may not have emails from Nintendo properly enabled!

The lady was very nice and went through a 3-step eligibility check process.

"Were you a platinum member last year?" - Yes
"I see you registered a 3DS XL in the past year, correct?" - Yes
"Okay, now we just gotta check if you enabled us communicating to you via email" - Apparently this was disabled, even though I have been receiving Nintendo emails and my online account page has the option check-marked!

My account page in ClubNintendo says "I want to receive information from Nintendo" and below it it says, "Keep this box checked to receive information about Nintendo products, services, and other related news. Uncheck the box if you no longer wish to receive such information from Nintendo."

Mine was checked, I was receiving emails from Nintendo this week and previous weeks, but apparently in the system, my account came up as ineligible.

The lady was very kind and said that she manually overrode the setting in the system and that I was now on the special list in the system that would be sending out codes over the next couple of hours. She said I should receive the email today, and if not, to call back. She gave me a reference ID.

I just got off the phone with a rep and she was able to opt in to get email notifications for me since the website was being slammed. She said that I should wait a few hours and I should have a code by then and that I am eligible.

You have to register a game before the 9th of this month so I'm sure all you platinum members hit that requirement.

I also asked her when they would stop giving out the codes and she told me this thing will be running from today, the 12th, all the way to the 19th.

Since the website is being slammed and you platinum members are trying to see if you are opt in to get email notifications, I strongly recommend it because it only takes like 5 minutes of your time.

Could anybody spare a NA code, i'm legit sad about what this demo offers as well! Unlimited uses and can use the coins you earn for the gane release. So jealous at everyone who has it. D:

You know why I choose not to receive emails from you, Nintendo? Because I'm buying all the games you're telling me about anyway! It's how I got to platinum status in the first place. Haha. Jesus. This company. Flashbacks to the nightmare that was the Luigi's Mansion statue.
