Spent $2,200 on a Surface Book because when deciding between it and Mac Book Pro, I figured the Mac Book wouldn't run Counter Strike very well.
Turns out, the Surface Book can't run CSGO very well either... :|
Two questions, is there any easy way to transfer over my "files" and configs over from one PC to another? I thought my Crosshair and stuff would carry over automatically, but they didn't.
Do the advanced Graphical Settings matter at all really? On my Desktop I have everything on High/Highest settings, if I drop everything down to Low/Very Low, I can sort of maintain a steady 60 frames at 1080p, which I guess is decent since te display is only 60hz anyways. Does Shadow Quality and Texture Quality really mean anything in this game?

Most pro players play with everything on low/disabled and just lave one or two settings on medium depending on preference as well as multicore rendering enabled.
I'm guessing based on your choices you needed a laptop but for gaming a desktop is always 100% the better choice, especially for the money.

I'm guessing that's with the dGPU? I would have thought it would have run this game better than that. I have one ordered (work bought it for me) but it's not shipping until 12/8 or something like that.
Man I'm playing CS super terrible now that I haven't really been playing it much anymore. Can't fucking do anything properly right now.

Dropping fnatic is fair considering they have no LAN results. C9 above G2 is... interesting to say the least (probably because their algorithm overvalues small tournament wins).

all these rankings are dumb because they try to use some algorithm that doesn't work.
NiP hasn't been relevant since Katowice 2015. They have like one notable win over anyone and that was three weeks ago against TSM. C9 had one three week stretch since Cologne 2014 where they looked good and somehow still a top 10 team.
since Kinguin/G2 formed they've been a great team making it out of groups twice, including a Top 4 finish. but that doesn't mean shit. RGN Cup > doing shit at majors

There is nothing wrong with having NiP higher than G2. G2 has played 1 LAN with the current roster and 2 LANs with 4/5 of the current roster. ESL One Cologne results are irrelevant considering the 2 roster changes. NiP has had similar success but no roster changes.
TSM are second because they won PGL before the Major. Whether TSM or VP should be #2 is debatable.
Bigger problem with these algorithms are teams like C9 and Luminosity. Balancing local and international events seems to never make sense.

Nice, yeah I got the i7, 256GB, with the DGPU. Game fluctuates between 70 FPS to 30 FPS.
I mean, it's a Laptop, so I still have to mess with it more, probably going to be a stupid problem like Power Saver mode being on throttling the CPU, or the DGPU drivers weren't installed. However, looks like taking this Laptop to local LANs to play CSGO won't be a thing right now.
Other than that, Laptop is extremely nice.

the time machine needed to get to an american local lan is another, and the other, less likely to be resolved issue, is getting a team willing to play with you.

Id be up to try out something like that, even though I predict that we'd barely stand a chance (not a very hard prediction). But it may be fun and an incentive to actually work on improving instead of living the yolo life like currently.

well if it makes you feel more confident i ran into a couple cevo im teams back when i was dmg in mm. they werent very good to the point where we still won with d jones on our team and if youve heard unknown talk about how we play when jones queues with us....
its not like its a real league like esea. and i hear that somehow the eu lower division teams are somehow worse than na lower division teams.
Yeaah lol, you're right. I just remembered I had a match against a Cevo team at one point and we absolutely crushed the shit out of them - it was hilarious. Matches against "teams" are the best anyways because we tend to win those.. they're mostly crap.
