Street Fighter V Launch Event: Lupe Fiasco VS Daigo Umehara

Lupe just used "never be game over" like it was a grammatically correct phrase LMAO

It's cool in its grammatically incorrect phrasing.

It has two meanings: 1: "[it will] never be game over." Probably what was intended

2: command form, like you're telling someone to "never be game over." Never enter that state where you give up, "Never become a person who says 'game over'."

Lots of sentences with completely fucked up grammar have become modern parlance, it's all in good fun.

I got to go to Folsom for Capcom Cup After Party this past PSX. I want to to go there again. Such a cool chill place and the FGC was so great. Nothing like that exists where I live.
No joke Folsom St. Foundry is one of the reasons I find it hard to leave the bay area. Fucking love that place.

This was hype as hell, can't wait to play V!

So that was super fun to watch.

But as a complete newcomer to Street Fighter, I was watching the health bars and is Ryu traditionally that powerful? Or it's just SFV Ryu that has the insane damage. There was a 3 hit combo or something that took off ~40% of Lupe's life that popped up every now and again.

true and he was unfamiliar with SFV

Exactly. Lupe was doing things near the end there that could not have possibly been fully predicted this early. That will win you matches especially early on in fighting games for sure.

Diego played around too much and towards the end just got hit with some things he couldn't have expected. Lupe really came to play.

For real though, that shit was lit. It was obvious they both thought it was FT5 and Daigo was messing around near the end there. It wasn't staged, it was Daigo still figuring out SFV and messing around with Lupe.

Still a good win for Lupe.

Once Daigo masters SFV, Evo is gonna be freakin' lit as fuuuuck!

I'm assuming you're referring to when he was using the super? Most character can do that much damage into a super.

Wondering if they told Daigo FT5. At first they said FT3, then they said FT5, so I'm sure there was some miscommunication to the players. Neither of them seemed to realize it was over when it was.

That's just SFV in general. Health melts now. It's a big change from SF4.
