I'll take skills and enemies using dual strikes and pairup over simpler gameplay any day. For me personally I need that extra challenge, like playing the gba games with increased enemy growths or doing single gender runs etc. I like positioning a unit just so with the best allies nearby for damage mitigation and boosts. I like knowing that I can calculate when offensive or defensive stance is the best option and how to get the very best from my units. Choosing classes and skills for utility and combat and molding my army.. my team into a force prepared to take on all comers is nice. Fates really needed effective weapons to still have durability though. I like weapon durability, money matters more then and each kill is more valuable becuase of the resources expended.

Reinforcements that can attack on the same turn can stay gone though. While some games were good about warning you they were coming, other times it was just awful.

I wouldn't mind keeping kids if they went the fe4 route.

Facerolling Birthright with ninjas/tomes and doing solo challenges is still more fun than Robin Emblem: Awakening, featuring hilariously open fields.

I don't see how doing it in Birthright is any more interesting than in Awakening, especially because you can in fact do it in the latter without letting Robin get a single kill.

In 2017 it would be too risky to do that unfortunately

Do you disagree that the game is way more involved or do you disagree in that you find that type of gameplay more fun?

I find that type of gameplay more fun. I enjoy the added complexity, especially since the game gives you all the necessary information (down to exact skill proc chances).

You can do it in the former without letting the ninjas/Corrin get a single kill, so it's kind of a moot point. Awakening's harder difficulty modes aren't as fun because getting units off the ground is more obnoxious and the map design is way worse. Corrin is more fun than Robin. Same turn reinforcements are ass.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Awakening a whole bunch. I just don't think it's a funner experience than BR, all things considered.

Oh yeah, posted this in the FEgaf OT but here's my 1000% accurate FE: Warrior's (eventual) roster prediction.

10000% accurate, flog me if wrong.

I really hope they don't try to simplify the gameplay a lot. Awakening was way too simplistic.

Which I feel shocked some people when they jumped to Fates. It was perhapes too much progression , but don't try to go back to Awakening.

I do hope Avatars are not plot important characters and the My castle stuff is handled better. It's jarring to have a narrative flow broken up like that ( in my opinion).

I wonder how far along FE Warriors development is. They didn't really show much during the Switchmas event. Do you guys think they were they saving it for this direct?

Black Knight is a lock. Was comparing "mad kings" though.
In that case Gangrel is more popular and honestly had a bigger and more direct role in his own game compared to Ashnard who was mostly in the background until the very end if I remember correctly

I paid good money for this Dynex!

Probably, given the timing of it and that you can't have a direct for a game if there's nothing to show.... I think.

But PK, Corrin has to get the kill in chapter 1
1.0

Though on a serious note, I think the quality of the main chapters are similar in Birthright and Awakening, they both have a relatively solid earlygame up until the beginning of the Valm arc/when Ryoma joins, with a few good maps after that (Awakening 17/18/21, Birthright 16/23) but a bunch of duds (Awakening 19/23/24 and maybe some others, Birthright 18/20/21, 19 is too from an objective standpoint but it's also funny so I'll let it slide).

The difference for me is that Awakening's paralogues are way better than Birthright's.

People can't handle the truth.

That FE7 is a bad game?

Musuo games have introduced me to a number of series so I'm hoping that Fire Emblem's will serve as my gateway into this franchise. And while I'm not expecting it during this stream or anytime in the near future, ports of the 3DS games would be a really nice addition to the Switch library. That's all wishful thinking and probably way down the line, if it ever happens, but I'm excited for the Warriors title and interested in the mobile game.

Oh shit, I forgot about the paralogues. Awakening had some good ones, damn. I guess I also fell for the FE:A = flat maps all the time trap.

Damn, now I want to replay it

so I can experience good Anna again

Went to bed last night and this thread was at like 10 pages lol. Well it's good to see it confirmed for Japan, pretty stocked to see some FE Mobile and FE Warriors.

who's the guy with burning hair (not a Fire Emblem veteran so unsure...)

you should spoiler all the names for me :p

Thanks for the info! The "variety of information related to the series" has me excited. After I heard that NoJ confirmed the mobile game, I was starting to feel like maybe that would actually be all (or most) of it.

I mean it's probably just Warriors...maybe some Cipher stuff or art books/merch.

Still hoping for Switch game/port or new 3DS game

wouldnt surprise me they have done it in the past. Nintendo loves to not show off things at stuff like E3 that look awesome just to save them for a direct a month or two afterwords.

He is
Sigurd

If you ever plan on playing his game (Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War) and want to do so blind, don't read my next spoiler.

He is the main lord, but he is killed by being burned to death halfway through the game, and the game does a 16 year timeskip then you play as his son. His .... method.... of death has become a bit of a running joke for whatever reason.

All this boring talk about the characters (You all know it's going to be a Lord-fest with a dash of Tharja and Tiki) instead of talking about the 2nd most exciting aspect of this games: The Stages and the Soundtrack!

All I want is a remake or adaptations of Chapter 1 (Marth Embarks - Fire Emblem) the flawless 3-13 (Blood Contract - Radiant Dawn), Chapter 9 (Emmeryn - Awakening) and the Opera (Dark Reunion - Fates)

And for the soundtrack this better have a version of Conquest (Ablaze), The Devoted, Road Taken (Ablaze) and Id (Purpose)

Yeah I used the wiki to find characters in Jugdral and came across Sigurd, but wasn't too sure, thanks for confirmation and the explanation as to why the burning hair lol

Disturbance in Agustria and Eldigan the Lionheart are still the goat Fire Emblem Tracks.
