So not worth it
Because I'd like to think that after a second bomb, they'd take a step back and go "hmm, maybe let's not tie a feature that was available on consoles 15 fucking years ago to a phone app". They're launching with a half-assed online infrastructure, IN 2017! It's barely an improvement over the Wii U.

It's a handheld with better graphics than a Wii U!

The Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania 21 was the best ladder-related match since the Terri Invitational ladder match. Not just a spectacle, but a pretty worthwhile wrassle match.

I need that new No More Heroes game. I will support the Switch to the ends of the earth to make this work

With all the chatter about Professional Wrestling in his little speech during the Switch Presentation I hope Suda51 is working on a Fire Pro for Switch alongside it.

I'd also love a Nintendo "Pro Wrestling" revival lead by Syn Sophia.

I hope the Switch fucking bombs. What the fuck are they doing over there.

I'm kind of in this camp only because I think back to back bombs would finally trigger some actual change in Nintendo. The system and its accessories are so overpriced that it's laughable. I still maintain that the Switch is trying to appeal to a demographic that doesn't really exist.

Assuming they get to keep ICW On Demand, which charges $7 a month, that's essentially the equivalent of an extra 565 subscribers.

Yeah, I suppose the exposure will probably be worth it. For some reason I was assuming this included their back uncatalogued as well, but I guess this will just be going forward with the new WWEUK stuff.

Looking at ICW's schedule, I guess WWE won't have the Fight Clubs, which make up the bulk of their shows.

Maybe WWE have some sort of rotation planned between ICW, PROGRESS, OTT and their show?

Eh, considering ICW runs along at a minimal profit and the advantages of the exposure on WWE Network and presumably some sort of cross promotion next time WWE hold an event in the UK it seems straightforward enough.

Obviously depends what the "clauses" are, but seems like a no lose situation for Dallas really.

Hell I'll take any new modern wrestling game on a console with a decent budget. Anything other than WWE2K games at this point.

She's not wrong. Match being in a cage was pointless. If the feud is over, it's a dumb way to end a feud. Heel cheats in every match, wins every time, the feud is over.............ok. She should've gone on Talking Smack and ripped Shane/Bryan a new asshole.

The big question mark I think we need to find out is the situation with talent signed elsewhere.

Drew Galloway & Grado are with TNA.
Grado, Sha Samuels, Joe & Mark Coffey, Viper, Kenny Williams, Jonny Moss were on WOS.
Ricochet (more a special attraction than a regular) is with New Japan.

I'd assume that they won't be allowed on the Network and would thus have to be cut from anything on it, which would be shit.

In addition, there's also the fact that Kay Lee Ray indulges in inter-gender matches from time to time, and there's no way that's going on the Network.

For some reason I relived the crushing 2013 Royal Rumble , CM Punk's final WWE appearance before his grumpy arse was chokeslammed through a table and straight out of the company.
The epic deflation of the crowd when it becomes clear that Bryan isn't in the rumble match for no conceivable reason is still a treat to behold, them boos for Mysterio, poor guy just had to be number 30.

Man it's no wonder everyone got behind Reigns in this one (boy WWE wish they could pull this off again), when your other options in the final three are Sheamus and Batista who've already won rumbles to boot you just gotta go for the green guy. Alas this was the beginning of the end for ol' Roman, at least his spear got to look god tier after the crappy one Batista poops out.

I'm not sure why no other company has tried to contact Syn Sophia about making a wrestling game for them. I HATED WCW back in the day, but I damn sure loved World Tour and Revenge more than the shit Acclaim was selling.

Talking Smack hasn't been the same without Bryan these past two weeks. I hope he comes back soon. :(

It's very hard to have a solid opinion on this stuff. Going to have to see how it all plays out and hope it continues to be positive.

More deets from Meltz:

Flo Slam and the WWE have approached the UK's Revolution Pro about putting their shows on their respective networks. Revolution Pro turned down Flo Slam based on the idea their offer wasn't financially worthwhile to them based on where they are at now. WWE's approach was more of a feeling out process and no offer was made. Andy Quildan, who heads Revolution, told WWE he would listen to any offer but it probably wouldn't be possible to make a deal due to his group's relationship with New Japan. He said that was important to him due to loyalty to New Japan, and also because the NJPW alliance allows them to present unique match-ups that can't happen anywhere else in the world, they can bring in talent that appears for no other UK promotion.

WWE will be paying ICW an annual fee for them to produce shows for the WWE Network. The deal is reportedly for $50,000 per year on a three-year deal, which would end in early 2020. This is said to be a tiny fraction of what Flo Sports is paying for Evolve content on its current deal, and is believed to be around half of the annual fee WWE would pay for a better drawing promotion for a weekend of shows. UK sources believe a deal with Progress is also completed. An official announcement of these deals could come as soon as this week. Two of ICW's biggest stars are Drew Galloway and Grado, and Bram is used as a regular. There is some question as to if they would be able to be used on shows that air on the Network.

Still don't know why WWE is getting other promotion on the network, especially considering the high cost of it and no one watches it.

The whole thing is comedy.

I have no doubt they will show some goodies at E3, but it's all bullshit. No one should up to put up with that ecosystem anymore. It's crap.

1. they are getting them dirt cheap

2. where are you getting these numbers from or are you just going with total network subs

This. It's 2017 people shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops to play online, especially when Microsoft cracked it like 15 years ago.

On Monday WOR, Dave talks about the view for network content which isn't ppv is shockingly low, he talk about how on raw the crowd didn't know about the UK tournament.

the UK tournament isn't for the Raw crowd I don't think, it's WWE trying to cast a wide, wide ass net to get the hardcores from other territories to sign up brother

which honestly for what is meant to be a mass market product, isn't the best idea but hey, they are trying something

He's giving away the ability to partner with another company for basically zero money. This also devalues their own service. This is a straight hold up where ICW gives away streaming rights in exchange for continued access to the WWE contracted talent.

It really depends what the content is, and what the restrictions are. The latter we may never know.

If the speculation is right on PROGRESS, and their Freedom's Road tapings are for Network content, it basically means WWE is bankrolling their trainee shows, which seems like a good deal.

It's also hilarious that two promotions explicitly based off presenting the opposite of what the WWE does, ICW and OTT (OTT's first show was called "Fuck PG" and until very recently was part of their branding) have quickly been brought into the fold.

Although I think that speaks more to the change in the WWE rather than the indie promotions themselves.

I saw the exact identical take consisting of quoting a WWE related PROGRESS tweet with "Punk Rock Pro Wrestling" like 5 times

This isn't the first time Dave's took time to explain this and it won't be the last unfortunately

Really wish people would comprehend that the archive aspect of the Network isn't really beloved

Hey, I've been listening to a Jim Ross/Cornette podcast from December and JR said he didn't like either candidate and didn't vote. I think everyone should always vote, but I'll still give the man half cred.
