Aside from Gallagher and Dillinger, there were pretty much no other surprises. That's SHOCKING considering the roster they had.

If Joe doesn't show up tomorrow, then I don't know what they're doing.

At least the PPV sans Rumble was great.

Okada unimpressed - https://twitter.com/rainmakerXokada/status/825901393605046272

Betting odds accurate again. Many other people could've benefited from winning the rumble more than Orton. Decent rumble overall.

Unannounced entrants were uniformly awful. Nothing but jobbers and then the masterful troll job of Roman at 30. No genuine surprises, no legends, nobody returning from injury, no Samoa Joe, no thing.

Okada admitting to watching the product that barely knows he exists makes him look like a chump though

I come in this thread every time happy from an enjoyable show and y'all just kill my buzz. It's almost predicable at this point...

I'm kinda sad they're absolutely going to do Orton/Bray

If you want an easy way of getting more rage for your next 7 hours of audience-hating, having them go in with Cena/Orton being the title match in 20fucking17 is a damn good start

The RR main thread is mad that Nakamura wasn't in the Rumble.

Did they watch or read what happened at NXT last night? Nakamura's storyline injury solidified he wasn't going to be in it.

Thank God I did not waste 40 minutes driving to see that.

They really need to work the smaller stories into the rumble. As it was tonight, only Braun and Berg/Brock laid way for upcoming stories. Otherwise, was just a bunch of people laying on the floor.

Thought the entire thing came crumbling down after AJ / Cena sold people the same match for a third time. Everything before then was booked well and thoroughly entertaining.

I hope they throw that Styles/Shane match in the trash and go with Bray/Cena/Styles/Orton .

Guessing Braun will be Roman's mid-boss on his way to Undertaker.

Braun then goes on to avenge his Rumble elimination by throwing out Corbin and winning the Andre Battle Royale.

He was at Summerslam a couple of years ago. WWE wants him badly and would gladly back up the truck to get him except he's said straight up that he has no interest in going to WWE.

I think Roman's booking at the end of the Rumble was 100% by design. They knew there was a possibility that fans might shit on an Orton win, so they had Reigns go out and eliminate all the fan favorites (and be in a big surprise spot that the crowd wanted others in) so that Orton was sure to get a pop when he eliminated him last.

chances are they wrote a dope script, and Vince said nah send in Enzo at 27

Reigns especially after that injury angle should not have been in the rumble.

Nakamura selling his knee the way he did was done to make sure fans didn't expect him at number 30.

You think they'd keep Nak at NXT another year?

I think NXT is making the full switch from ROH ripoff to a revpro/progress ripoff.

They have all those brits signed and are starting to go nuts with pulling guys from shows.

Nak probably will get called up after mania but who knows.

It felt like they wanted to blow their 'bunch of eliminations at once' load too often and just wound up with clutter in the ring constantly. There was no ironman story because nothing dangerous was happening. Jericho sat out of camera view for most of the match as the 'ironman' so who gives a fuck. There was zero story in the ring except when Brock and Goldberg came in and the Harper thing.

Where's the news about R-Truth not showing up coming from? How weird.

I thought it was a good Rumble. ANYONE ELSE at #30 would have been better, but I guess we had to set up Taker/Roman at Wrestlemania somehow.

Definitely would have preferred AJ keep his title, but by no means is John Cena undeserving.

Enzo & Ellsworth were wasted spots. Though Ellsworth took a BUMP when eliminated, jesus.

They didn't even do this:

Enzo was fucking dancing to go up against Brock fucking Lesnar.

WWE just wasted their only chance to make Joe the 2017 AJ

AJ's rumble debut was a big part of why he got over so quickly

But I guess they don't care about creating new stars, as shown tonight
